WASHINGTON, Nov 28 (LSN) – The US Supreme Court has agreed to hear a case involving a 1990 law that imposed decency standards on funding decisions by the National Endowment for the Arts. A federal appeals court ruling struck down the law claiming it violated constitutional free-speech and due-process protections. HALIFAX, NS., Nov 28 (LSN) – In an interesting development in the Nancy Morrison murder trial, Judge Hughes Randall criticized the crown prosecutors for announcing that it would proceed on a charge of manslaughter, not murder, against the Halifax respirologist. Morrison was charged last May in the killing of her cancer patient Paul Mills. Amazingly, the media and crown prosecutors have ignored Latimer’s 1974 trial in the forcible rape of a 15-year-old girl. Further, the same judge, Justice E.D. BRASILIA, Nov 27 (LSN) – Brazil’s Health Ministry announced yesterday that they have begun offering free sterilizations to men and women. Despite long-standing opposition from the Catholic Church, President Fernando Henrique Cardoso endorsed the program earlier this year. TORONTO, Nov 26 (LSN) – Planned Parenthood and other pro-abortion “health” clinics complained vented concerns today regarding the loss of funding. Ontario’s downloading of services will require municipalities to fund the clinics beginning next year. The province currently pays $19 million a year for such “services”. In response to Dr. Death’s offer to “donate” organs from his victims, Marlinga warned, “The removal of vital organs would go beyond assisting suicide, and could constitute the crime of first-degree murder.
