EDMONTON, Mar. 31 (LSN) – Premier Ralph Klein has recently set up a ministerial task force to prepare a response to the Supreme Court of Canada’s ruling on the Vriend “gay rights”  case, which is expected to be handed down on Thursday.  Gay activist Delwin Vriend alleges Alberta is violating the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, by refusing to include “sexual orientation” in the province’s human rights legislation.  Many Albertans, and indeed many Canadians from across the country, have urged the Alberta government to stand firm, and to use the “notwithstanding clause” of the constitution in the event of a […]

Dermatologist Dr. Neil Shear reacted with indignation to the decision, saying, “What am I supposed to tell a guy who’s got a face like a monster: `I have to charge you?’” Observers note the decision means the Ontario government would deprive the poor and disfugured of potential relief, and that few Ontarians would support such callousness.  Pro-lifers note that the government […]

WASHINGTON, Mar 27 (LSN)  Leading U.S. feminist Gloria Steinem argued recently in the New York Times that President Bill Clinton was not guilty of sexual harassment, even if he had fondled Kathleen Willey and propositioned Paula Jones, because he “took No for an answer.”  Steinem noted that even if the allegations against Clinton were true, he is nonetheless deserving of feminist support. The reason he merits such loyalty, she said, is his singular devotion to abortion “rights.”

KLEIN BACKS DOWN ON LIMITING PAYMENTS TO EUGENICS VICTIMS

EDMONTON, Mar 12 (LSN) – Alberta Premier Ralph Klein and his Tory government backed away from a plan to invoke the Constitution’s notwithstanding clause to restrict compensation for 700 people who were made infertile under government sterilization policies between 1928 and 1972. The rejected legislation unveiled two days ago would have forced the courts to limit possible future court awards to a maximum of $150,000 for each of the 700 victims,  who were classed as “mental defectives.” The victims were made sterile on the   order of a government-appointed eugenics board to ensure they could not produce “defective children.”  In […]

UNION FORCES HOMOSEXUAL BENEFITS ON CAR COMPANIES

TORONTO, Mar 11 (LSN)—Yesterday, Chrysler Canada was ordered to provide same-sex spousal benefits to its employees by arbitrator Ross Kennedy.  The case against Chrysler was brought forward by the Canadian Auto Workers union headed up by Buzz Hargrove.  The granting of homosexual benefits by Chrysler leaves only one of the “big three” car companies free from pandering to homosexuals.  General Motors offered same-sex benefits in 1996. Ford does not provide same-sex benefits but is currently being challenged on their stand.  “I would hope that Ford Motor Company of Canada would now follow suit as well,” said Hargrove.
