MAINE CHRISTIANS CAMPAIGN TO STOP PARTIAL-BIRTH ABORTION

AUGUSTA, Apr. 28 (LSN) – The two Christian groups who spearheaded the successful campaign to revoke Maine’s pro-homosexual law last February are set to repeat their performance, this time focusing on partial-birth abortion. The Christian Civic League of Maine and the Christian Coalition of Maine are launching a petition drive to put the issue to a public vote. Last year, Maine’s political leaders refused to ban the gruesome later-term abortion procedure,  even though it included a political compromise, in the form of an exception for cases in which it is claimed the life of the mother is at stake.  In […]

PRO-ABORTS TO FORCE BABY-KILLING ON MED STUDENTS

OTTAWA, Apr 27 (LSN) – British Columbia Report magazine reported recently on a publication put out by the Canadian Abortion Rights Action League (CARAL), calling for mandatory abortion training for medical students in Canada. The document, “The Status of Abortion Services in Canada: Access Granted, Too Often Denied” was issued in February to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Supreme Court decision leaving Canada lawless with regard to abortion.  In the document, CARAL laments the alleged lack of access to abortion, complaining that abortion training is not mandatory but “an elective with no requirement to observe or perform actual procedures.” […]

MOVIE OUTLINES ANTI-LIFE PRELUDE TO NAZI HOLOCAUST

MANHATTAN, Apr 27 (LSN)  A documentary film by Israeli filmmaker Nitzan Aviram opened last week at the Manhattan Film Forum, showing how the Nazi holocaust began with the “mercy killing” of the mentally and physically handicapped, at the hands of German doctors. The film, “Healing by Killing,”  was reviewed Saturday in a New York Post editorial, with astonishingly pro-life commentary. The author says that “it doesn’t take an Aldous Huxley to foresee how the legality and social acceptability of abortion, combined with in vitro genetic testing, could lead to the extermination in the womb of those likely to be a […]

ABC SCRAPS PRO-GAY “ELLEN”

LOS ANGELES, Apr 27 (LSN) – On April 23, the ABC television officially announced its cancellation of the homosexual promoting show “Ellen,” with its final episode, adding to the anti-family heyday on the television, coming on May 13.  Last year the show shocked audiences into paying it some attention by having its main character embrace an active homosexual lifestyle, winning the acclaim of anti-family forces the world over.  Although heralded as the foremost program in encouraging homosexuality, other popular programs are proving more successful by including homosexuality as normal while focussing on other plots.  The most dangerous of these programs […]

LONDON, Apr 27 (LSN) – The frontrunners in the British abortion industry the Family Planning Association, Marie Stopes International and the Brook Advisory Centre   have teamed up in an effort to expand their bloody business still farther. Commemorating Britain’s shame for being the first country to legalize abortion 30 years ago, the group launched its “Voice for Choice” campaign today,  to further liberalize the country’s abortion regulations.  British law currently permits the killing of children in the womb up to two months’ development, but requires the approval of two doctors, who must certify that the mother would suffer mentally […]

DISAPPOINTING ONTARIO THRONE SPEECH AGAIN

The Ontario government delivered its throne speech yesterday for the second session of the 36th Parliament. There was once again extremely little for pro-family, pro-life Ontarians.  The Harris government apparently believes it can take for granted next election the continued support of the large core of social conservatives that made the difference in its 1995 election win. Several Tory MPPs who, at a recent government policy retreat made an appeal for social conservative policies in the new term, appear to have been totally ignored.  Some of the non-economic slight positives in the government’s commitments are:  – on education, enhanced opportunities […]

POLL FINDS FLORIDA VOTERS CONSERVATIVE ON ABORTION

TAMPA, Apr 24 (LSN) – A poll conducted by Mason-Dixon Political/Media Research for several Florida newspapers revealed a majority of voters favoured a ban on partial-birth abortion and an assurance that parents should be notified when their children seek abortions. The survey of 813 registered voters indicated that 48 percent of respondents want the horrific late-term abortion procedure banned while only 36 per cent oppose a ban. On parental notification before minors could commit abortions, 70 percent deemed it necessary, whereas 20 percent disagreed. The poll, released yesterday, had a margin of error of plus or minus 3.5 percent.

CANADA TO OFFICIALLY CHANGE DEFINITION OF SPOUSE?

TORONTO, Apr 24 (LSN) – The Ontario Court of Appeal ruled yesterday that sexually-active homosexuals would be entitled to pension benefits thus changing the definition of “spouse” in the Income Tax Act to include same-sex partners. A panel of three judges—Rosalie Abella, Hilda McKinlay and Stephen Goudge—in another example of undemocratic judicial activism, called the restriction of benefits to heterosexual couples unconstitutional. Although the decision is limited to the Income Tax Act it opens the door to the redefinition of “spouse” in all pertinent federal laws.  The case, pitted Nancy Rosenberg and her employer the Canadian Union of Public Employees […]
