UNION OF REFORM AND CONSERVATIVES ON THE HORIZON?

EDMONTON, Apr 17 (LSN) – The Globe and Mail reported today on senior Reform MP Ian McClelland’s (Edmonton Southwest) bid to sit as a representative of a united Reform and Tory party. The MP indicated he is looking forward to a united conservative party in Canada, and defeating the ruling Liberals, who are currently governing the country by default. Although leaving the final decision to his constituents, McClelland noted that, if necessary, he would be willing to sit as an independent, “outside both caucuses (Reform and PC),” in order to get the ball rolling on a united right-wing alternative.  At […]

KEVORKIAN LAWYER ANNOUNCES RUN FOR MICHIGAN GOVERNOR

DETROIT, Apr 16 (LSN) – Geoffrey Fieger, lawyer for infamous assisted-suicide crusader Jack Kevorkian,  formally announced his candidacy for Michigan governor today. However, a recent poll by the firm EPIC/MRA of Lansing showed Fieger’s unfavourable rating, 24 per cent, is higher than his favourable rating, 19 per cent. William Ballenger, editor of the newsletter Inside Michigan Politics noted that Fieger “is the only candidate running for governor on either party’s ticket in the last decade who has had those numbers.”  Although he has been unrelenting in his vigorous support for Kevorkian over many years, Fieger indicates he is “personally opposed” […]

BAHAMA RESIDENTS PROTEST MORE GAY CRUISE SHIPS

NASSAU, Apr 16 (LSN) – Besieged by gay cruise ships, Bahama residents held a protest Tuesday at the arrival of yet another gay “Love Boat” on its shores. About 300 demonstrators from a group called Save the Bahamas crowded Prince George Wharf where the cruise ship Seabreeze had docked with its 800 lesbian passengers. MAN GETS 3 YEARS FOR ATTEMPTING FORCED ABORTION

BUFFALO, N.Y., Apr 26 (LSN) – On Wednesday, Judge Timothy Drury sentenced Robert Jewart to between eighteen months and 3 years in prison for attempting a forced abortion. Jewart offered an undercover police officer $2,000 to attack his former girlfriend, Trisia Ellis, and kick her in the abdomen until she miscarried, after Ellis refused to get an abortion. Ellis watched the sentence in the courtroom while holding her 15-day-old child.  Pro-life observers note the irony of the fact that while the United States is rightly willing to punish a man for attempting a forced abortion, the government continues to extend […]

HOMOSEXUALS DEMAND COMPENSATION FOR PAST “DISCRIMINATION”

OTTAWA, Apr 15 (LSN) – A team of Laurentian Univerity researchers delivered a 220-page report to the Canadian government yesterday, demanding an apology and compensation for homosexuals who they allege were targeted in national security campaigns in the 1950s and ‘60s. The four researchers, all active homosexuals, complained that the government banned active homosexuals from the civil service and the military.  Beside the fact that homosexual acts remained a crime in Canada until 1969, the presence of homosexuals in the military and diplomatic corps posed a real threat to the country’s Cold War security. The RCMP,  for example, were concerned […]
