PRO-ABORT REPUBLICANS ATTACK REPUBLICAN PRO-LIFE CANDIDATE

BINGHAMTON, NY, Aug 31 (LSN) – Last week a group of prominent pro-abortion Republicans began running slanderous ad campaigns against Republican candidate and pro-life leader Randall Terry. Terry, former leader of Operation Rescue, noted that the US$31,215 ads were paid for by the “Foundation for Responsible Government,” which he says is a front group for the Republican Leadership Council.  Taking a joke which Terry had made in a 1993 sermon out of context, the commercials painted him as an extremist hate monger. The Republican ads quoted Terry as saying, “I want you to just let a wave of intolerance wash […]

ABORTED BABIES DUMPED IN WELL

ROSARIO, Argentina, Aug 31 (LSN) – An illegal abortion mill in Argentina concealed the dead bodies of its preborn victims in a dried up well behind the abortuary, reported Zenit news service last week. Dr. Victor Scuizzatto was arrested for running the criminal operation in Rosario. The dead babies were discovered in a police investigation ordered by Judge Raquel Cosgaya. Given the serious nature of the news and the fact that Scuizzatto was already suspected in a baby-trafficking case pro-lifers were dismayed that the national papers and television networks refused to cover the story.

GOV’T FUNDING FOR MEN’S GROUPS?

TORONTO, ON, Aug 31 (LSN) – A court case is underway today in which the Canadian government may be forced to provide funding for men’s groups. Patrick Ellis is objecting to the gender discrimination evident in the long-standing policy in Ontario (and the rest of the country) of making taxpayer dollars available to many so-called women’s groups without providing funds to “men’s” groups. Ellis is asking the Federal Court of Canada to rule sections of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms unconstitutional due to gender discrimination. A favourable ruling by the courts is expected to result in millions of […]

FOCUS ON THE FAMILY REJECTS CBSC CLAIMS

VANCOUVER, Aug 28 (LSN) – Focus on the Family (Canada) yesterday condemned the Canadian Broadcast Standards Council for threatening the freedom of religion in this country. The Christian pro-family organization was responding to a recent ruling “censuring” the organization for a radio broadcast discussing homosexuality.  Dr. Darrel Reid, President of the Christian pro-family organization called on the CBSC to withdraw the decision saying, “this decision represents an assault upon the rights of Canadians to speak of the ramifications of their most deeply-held religious beliefs.”  The CBSC condescended to allow Christians to continue to call homosexuality “sinful,” but apparently without concern […]
