A.L.L. URGES CONGRESS TO VOTE AGAINST FUNDING ABORTIFACIENT CONTRACEPTIVES

WASHINGTON, Sept 2 (LSN) – The pressure from so-called “women’s groups” on Congress to require federal employee health plans to cover abortifacient birth control appears to be growing. Both the US House and Senate have approved separate measures requiring the contraceptive coverage, but a conference to reconcile differences still must take place. This gives pro-lifers a last chance to halt the measure, but abortion advocates are urging Congress to stay its course.  American Life League (ALL) called on Congress today to “vote for life; vote against the ‘pill bill.’” ALL President Judie Brown said “How tragic it is in our […]

LIBERALS CONTINUE NEPOTISTIC APPOINTMENTS ACROSS PARTY LINES

OTTAWA, Sept 1 (LSN) – Prime Minister Jean Chretien caused a stir in political circles earlier last month with the appointment of former Ontario NDP Premier Bob Rae to head up an international conference on federalism, which is planned to be held in Canada in late 1999. Although a member of an opposing party which claims to have different political outlooks Rae still fits the mould of a nepotistic appointment.  John Rae, Bob’s older brother was the mastermind behind Chretien’s successful election campaign.  But Chretien is no stranger to nepotistic appointments. His political maneuvering of old friends and even relatives […]
