HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO A KILLER

WASHINGTON, Sept 23 (LSN) – The mainstream media has hardly tried to hide its pro-abortion bias,  nevertheless the National Broadcasting Corporation’s commemoration yesterday of the founding of the so-  called “birth-control” pill still comes as a surprise and grave disappointment to pro-life forces.  American Life League (ALL) president, Judie Brown, condemned the celebration, noting that “NBC has once again failed to provide full information to healthy women who may consider ingesting chemicals that have serious side effects for them   and deadly consequences for the tiniest child in the womb.”  Scientific evidence has shown the pill to be an abortifacient.

SPAIN NARROWLY ESCAPES ABORTION ON DEMAND

MADRID, Spain, Sept 23 (LSN) – The Spanish Parliament barely defeated a motion yesterday aimed at allowing abortion on demand through the first 12 weeks of pregnancy. The measure lost by only one vote – 173 to 172.  The country is thus left with the more restrictive, yet still pro-abortion, law introduced in 1985 by the country’s previous Socialist government. This law permits the killing of pre-born children in cases of the mother’s physical or mental health, rape, and a so-called deformed fetus.

LABORATORY ANIMALS HAVE MORE VALUE THAN PREBORN CHILDREN IN AMERICA

WASHINGTON, Sept 22 (LSN) – In the city where only a few days ago the U.S. senate could not put a stop to the most most widely practiced form of legal infanticide, partial-birth abortion, government scientists announced Monday a breakthrough in scientific experimentation making for more “humane” treatment of test animals.  Reuters reports that a committee of scientists headed up by William Stokes of the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIESH), said the new skin test for irritating chemicals “typically use fewer animals, no animals or cause less pain and distress” to the laboratory animals. Kenneth Olden,  director of […]

SPAIN ON THE VERGE OF INTRODUCING ABORTION ON DEMAND?

MADRID, Spain, Sept 22 (LSN) – A debate in the Spanish Parliament began Monday on allowing abortion on demand in the first 12 weeks of pregnancy. The move would further the pro-abortion law established by the previous Socialist government in the country in 1985 which permits the killing of children in the womb for reasons of the physical or mental health of the mother, rape, and deformation of the fetus.  Reuters reported this morning that The Roman Catholic Church is being accused of “unfairly trying to pressure the vote.” The Catholic Church in Spain has condemned the proposed legislation as […]

ABORTION FIRST, HEALTH CARE SECOND?

KELWONA, BC, Sept 21 (LSN) – A report in the Kelwona Daily Courier last week indicated that the local health board is seeking $400,000 from the provincial government to set up an abortuary in the Kelwona General Hospital. This despite the deplorable conditions of general health care in the region, which, as the paper reports, “had about 300 fewer long-term beds than the provincial average for a district this size a few years ago.” An additional ten long-term beds could be set up in the community for the cost of the startup fees for the abortuary.  The hospital abortuary is […]

AMERICAN PRO-LIFE GROUPS REACT TO SENATE VOTE ON PARTIAL-BIRTH

WASHINGTON, Sept 21 (LSN) – On Friday, U.S. pro-life groups reacted to the unsuccessful U.S. Senate vote to override Clinton’s veto of a law banning partial-birth abortion with condemnation. Judie Brown, head of American Life League, the nation’s largest pro-life educational organization, used the occasion to call the U.S. pro-life movement to “turn its attention away from so-called ‘partial-birth’ abortion and refocus on the genuine pro-life goal a constitutional amendment that protects all human beings from fertilization on.”  Joe Scheidler of the Pro-life Action League said in a press release that “It is disgusting and abhorrent that our two Illinois […]
