COURT RULES UNIVERSITY FEES MAY NOT BE USED TO CONTRIBUTE TO CONTENTIOUS ORGANIZATIONS

WISCONSIN, Oct 30 (LSN) – For years pro-life and family university students have been outraged that mandatory college fees were used by colleges to support pro-abortion, pro-homosexual and communist activist groups. However, a recent decision by a U.S. Appeals Court ruled that it is a violation of the First Amendment rights of freedom of speech and association for a state university to use “students’  mandatory activity fees to fund organizations which engage in political or ideological activities,  advocacy, or speech.”  In the case, Southworth v.
