CHRETIEN ANNOUNCES HUMAN RIGHTS INITIATIVE IN CHINA

OTTAWA, Nov 20 (LSN)  Prime Minister Jean Chretien announced a Canadian initiative to improve human rights in China yesterday. “We have been working more intensively with China on the human side of development over the last few years,” he said. The PM boasted that Canada has “a track-record of engagement that makes a real difference for people” with China.  How this proposal plays out in practice remains to be seen. Chretien’s track-record on human rights is spotty at best. Pro-life forces expect a legitimate policy against human rights abuses in China to include decisive opposition to the horrendous forced-abortion policy, […]

The Associated Press noted that “the segment will be aired on the last Sunday of broadcasting’s November ‘sweeps’ period, where TV ratings are watched closely to set local […]

MORGENTALER CAMPAIGNS FOR BUSINESS IN QUEBEC

MONTREAL, Nov 20 (LSN)  The notorious father of abortion in Canada Henry Morgentaler used the occasion of the Quebec election call to ask the provincial candidates to fund abortions at his abortuaries in the province. Morgentaler demanded that Quebec adopt the policy of Ontario, B.C., Alberta and Newfoundland, whereby taxpayers are forced to pay for the killing of babies in abortion mills as well as in hospitals.  Most hospitals have a cut-off date after which they will not perform abortions, but most abortuaries, including Morgentaler’s, have no qualms about performing abortions up to and including the ninth month of pregnancy.

NS DOCTOR TO GET AWAY WITH A “PERFECT MURDER”?

HALIFAX, Nov 19 (LSN) – Nova Scotia Supreme Court Justice Jill Hamilton dismissed a Crown appeal to nullify a lower court ruling that threw out the murder case against Halifax respirologist Nancy Morrison. In May 1997 Halifax Regional Police charged Morrison with murder after finding evidence that she injected her cancer patient Paul Mills with potassium chloride KCl in order to stop his heart. OTTAWA, Nov 19 (LSN) – A UN-sponsored population conference held in Ottawa this week gave Canadians an open view of the extremist pro-abortion agenda of such conferences. At the Fifth Canadian Conference on International Health, participants discussed deceptive techniques used to promote abortion and openly demonstrated the antagonism such groups show towards pro-lifers.  “Partnerships in Health: A Work In Progress,” was sponsored by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), the Pan-American Health Organization, and three departments of the Canadian government.  The Catholic Family and Human Rights Institute reported that participants discussed how better to infiltrate pro-abortion ideals into Catholic and […]

HOMOSEXUAL AGENDA ON THE MOVE IN US

MONTPELIER, VT, Nov 19 (LSN)  The Vermont Supreme Court is hearing arguments in favour of gay marriage this week in a case brought by three gay cohabitators. Pro-family advocates are concerned since the state has already capitulated to the homosexualist agenda by giving same-sex couples special protection against discrimination, special status in hate crime law,  and the right to adopt children.  On Friday a challenge to sodomy laws in Texas will be initiated by two homosexual men. However, in California residents will have an opportunity to stem the homosexualist advance by voting to restrict marriage to one man and one […]

TRIAL DATE FINALLY SET FOR JAILED ONTARIO PRO-LIFERS

TORONTO, Nov 18 (LSN)  Yesterday, a trial date was finally set for jailed pro-lifers Linda Gibbons, Anneliese Stedan, and Reverend Ken Campbell. The trial is to take place on February 2nd and 3rd, 1999 at the provincial courts at College and Yonge Sts. in Toronto. The three pro-lifers were arrested on Sept. 9 of this year.  As the ordeal continues year after year for Linda Gibbons, even Ontario’s judges are getting fed up with the Tory government’s antics. The Crown has delayed the show cause of the prosecution against the pro-lifers to such unreasonable lengths that the presiding judge said […]
