BC GOVERNMENT HARASSING PRO-LIFE GROUP

VANCOUVER, Nov 13 (LSN) John Hof, president of Campaign Life Coalition BC one of the most active pro-life movements in the country, has called on pro-lifers to help stop the provincial government’s harassment of the organization. The ruling NDP government in the province has “weeded out” pro-lifers from health boards, has denied pro-lifers free speech with bubble zones, and has intimidated, and calumniated any politicians who have dared to communicate with pro-lifers. “Instead of giving the NDP the satisfaction of silencing their opponents, CLCBC is dedicated to redoubling our efforts in seeing the most vulnerable in our province protected from […]

VACANT SCHOOLS AND BUSINESSES GREET NEW ABORTUARY

FREDERICTON, Nov 13 (LSN) The new Morgentaler abortuary was fittingly greeted at its opening yesterday by its neighboring junior school bereft of children. The culture of violence and death spawned by abortion and the concomitant disregard for human life has led to countless deaths and recently to retaliation and counter-attacks. The Canadian Press reported yesterday that, citing concern for safety, George Street Middle School was emptied and businesses surrounding the abortion mill gave employees permission to stay away.

NEW RESEARCH IGNITES FEARS OF ANIMAL-HUMAN HYBRIDS

BOSTON, Nov 13 (LSN) Scientists at Advanced Cell Technology of Worcester, Mass., announced yesterday that they had created a “master cell” by combining a human cell with a cow egg. The researchers said that the procedure would be used to grow replacement body tissues. Other experts in the field were skeptical of the claim, but did say that the incident called for laws governing such research.  According to a report by the Associated Press, the hybrid cell is made by removing the nucleus of a cow egg and inserting a human cell’s nucleus. Theoretically, the hybrid cell could be transferred […]

UN TO INCLUDE HOMOSEXUALITY AND ABORTION IN UDHR?

NEW YORK, Nov 13 (LSN) In light of the 50th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) which will take place next month, UN ideologues have been working hard to include homosexuality and abortion on demand in the document. At innumerable “human rights” meetings, as with one that ended this week in Geneva, the UN has been pushing for “gender equality” and “sexual and reproductive rights” to be regarded as universal human rights. It is well known that within “sexual and reproductive rights” the UN includes abortion on demand. The international agency also defines gays and lesbians as […]

STRIPTEASE OFFERED TO CHILDREN

NEW YORK, Nov 12 (LSN) New York Mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani sought to ban striptease clubs from the city by outlawing all “adult” clubs from most neighborhoods. However, one such den of iniquity has skirted the new regulations by inviting children to the establishment. Incredibly, New York State Supreme Court Justice Stephen Crane ruled last week in favour of Ten’s World Class Cabaret in Manhattan saying that it “cannot be defined as an adult eating and drinking establishment if it does not exclude minors.”  The Mayor condemned the ruling suggesting that “if a parent was bringing a kid into a […]

VATICAN REITERATES INDISSOLUBILITY OF MARRIAGE

VATICAN CITY, Nov 12 (LSN) Responding to dissident theologians who have attacked the indissolubility of marriage, L’Osservatore Romano, the official newspaper of the Vatican said yesterday that “A ratified and consummated marriage cannot be dissolved by any human authority or for any cause except death.” Some modernists were suggesting that the pope had the authority to dissolve a marriage for instance by legitimizing civil divorces.  The article, covered by Zenit news, clarified that the pronouncement of nullity (annulment) happens only where “by demonstrated causes, the authorities of the Church witness to the fact that there never was a genuine marriage […]

DOCTORS DECIDE ON LIFE OF PATIENTS OVER FAMILY

WINNIPEG, Nov 12 (LSN) Mrs. Helene Sawatzky and her family entered the first stage of a court battle yesterday to fight the imposition of a “do not resuscitate” (DNR) order on the file of her 79-year-old husband Andrew. The hospital gave as a reason for its action that should Mr. Sawatzky become in need of resuscitation, the procedure although it may keep him alive may leave him in a vegetative state. The Sawatzky’s lawyer asked Justice Holly Beard to lift the DNR order until the case could be heard in court.  The judge’s decision on this preliminary matter will come […]
