OTTAWA, Dec 23 (LSN)  In a supposed effort to curb abrasive language and behaviour in the Canadian Forces,  all members are subjected to a controversial course which uses a barrage of profanity and inappropriate scenes to demonstrate to Army personnel what not to do. An investigative report in the National Post yesterday outlined the Standard Harassment and Racism Prevention (SHARP) course which purports to deal with the “flood of cases involving racial intolerance, sexual harassment and assault, and abuse of authority.”

NEW YORK, Dec 23 (LSN)  Another Christian-bashing production has opened in New York just in time for Christmas. “The Most Fabulous Story Ever Told,” by playwright Paul Rudnick, is a homosexualized version of the Bible. A commentary by evangelical leader Chuck Colson, reveals that the play begins in the garden of Eden with Adam and Steve. According to Colson the play portrays leading Biblical figures, Noah and Moses,  as homosexuals. DENVER, Colorado, Dec 23 (LSN)  The largest abortion provider, Planned Parenthood, a number of abortionists and the American Civil Liberties Union teamed up Tuesday to combat the will of the people in Colorado. They were fighting legislation that would require that parents be given notice before their grandchildren are aborted. Voters in Colorado approved a measure to require that parents of minors who seek abortions be notified (not asked for consent) 48 hours prior to the procedure. In court, the pro-  aborts argued that notifying parents of minors would be unconstitutional.

OTTAWA, Dec 22 (LSN) – The Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) is asking Canadians to voice their opinions about the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC). The CRTC will hold public consultations on the CBC March 9th to 18th, 1999 in 11 Canadian cities.  CBC Radio is notorious for its pro-abortion stance. Jim Hughes, national president of Campaign Life Coalition notes that “for the most part, CBC radio has been unfair” towards the pro-life movement in its reporting. DES MOINES, Iowa, Dec 22 (LSN)  On Monday, U.S. District Judge Robert Pratt ruled Iowa’s ban on partial-  birth abortion to be unconstitutional. This is the latest example of pro-abortion judicial activism which has become commonplace in the US where at least 17 state and federal judges have chosen to usurp the law-  making power of duly elected legislators by quashing laws against partial birth abortion.

CHICAGO, Illinois, Dec 22 (LSN)  On Monday, the father of a baby aborted in 1995 filed suit against Cook County hospital where his child was killed since it was done so without his consent or even his notification. According to a report in the Chicago Tribune and distributed by Pro-Life E-news, the girl friend of the unidentified complainant obtained the abortion without him being told. Robert Dargis, the lawyer representing the unidentified man said, “Given the fact that someone is taking the life of his child, does he have any say so in that?”

Christian and pro-life groups have been recommending the new Hollywood release Prince of Egypt which was first shown Friday in theatres worldwide. According to reports from Dr. James Dobson of Focus on the Family, the producers of the animated film “sought to ensure that the tale was told faithfully, and they went out of their way to make sure the retelling of the familiar story did not insult religious sensibilities.” The production company DreamWorks consulted religious figures from several faith communities, including Christian, Jewish and Muslim. UNITED NATIONS, Dec 21 (LSN)  On Friday, Foreign Affairs Minister Lloyd Axworthy officially signed the UN’s Rome Agreement on the International Criminal Court. CBC Newsworld reported that Canada is the 69th country to sign the accord.  The next step for many countries is ratification. Once 60 countries have ratified the agreement, the authority of the ICC will be enshrined over all nations, thus eliminating their national sovereignty.  The ICC should be of grave concern to pro-lifers since the document gives the strange term “forced pregnancy” official recognition as a new international crime.
