SOUTH KOREA CLAIMS FIRST HUMAN EMBRYO CLONE

SEOUL, South Korea, Dec 17 (LSN)  Yesterday, Lee Bo-yon and Kim Sung-bo, fertility specialists at Kyunghee University Hospital, announced to reporters that they had created a cloned human embryo that had the exact same genetic makeup as the 30-year old woman from whom the DNA sample came.  According to today’s Washington Post, the scientists claim they killed the embryo soon after its production so as not to violate any laws. The announcement raised fresh concern about the new wave in bioethics around the world and gave rise to demonstrations outside the Seoul hospital.

MORE AND MORE DOCTORS AGREE: THE PILL KILLS

NEW YORK, Dec 17 (LSN)  American Life League reported yesterday that over 100 doctors have now signed their “Declaration for Life” which declares that the birth control pill and “emergency contraception” kill babies in the womb. ALL President Judie Brown said that the Declaration is part of an effort to get the truth out about the abortifacient nature of the so-called contraceptive pill. “For years, there has been a conspiracy of silence surrounding the true nature of how contraceptives work,” said Brown. Even many pro-life people are unaware of the true nature of these “contraceptives.”

NEW MOVES IN EFFORT TO LEGALIZE HOMOSEXUAL MARRIAGE IN CANADA

MONTREAL, Sept 15 (LSN)  Yesterday, Michael Hendricks, a well-known gay rights activist in Montreal, and his homosexual partner Rene Leboeuf, filed a complaint with the Quebec human rights commission about the discrimination in law they claim prevents them from being married. The Canadian Press noted that the action was staged to coincide with the 21st anniversary of Quebec’s charter of rights which currently forbids discrimination based on “sexual orientation.”  In September, the pair began proceedings to challenge the Quebec Superior Court in an attempt to gain the right to marry. A trial date is expected in late January.

GOV’T APPOINTS RADICAL PRO-ABORT TO HEAD I.C.H.R.D.D.

OTTAWA, Dec 17 (LSN)  On December 7, Foreign Affairs Minister Lloyd Axworthy announced the appointment of Kathleen E. Mahoney as Chair of the Board of Directors of the International Centre for Human Rights and Democratic Development (ICHRDD). Mahoney, a Professor of Law at the University of Calgary, is well known for her extreme feminist and pro-abortion views. CATHOLIC BISHOP AND PRIEST ACQUITTED OF BLOCKING ABORTUARY

NEW YORK, Dec 16 (LSN) – Retired Auxiliary Bishop George Lynch of Raleigh, North Carolina, and Brother Christopher Moscinski had their acquittal upheld on charges of violating a court order not to block an abortuary. PARIS, Dec 16 (LSN) – The French government has published the results of its parliamentary investigation into the Rwandan genocide on the internet. The report finds that the French government had no complicity in the slaughter of over 800,000 Rwandans. BROTHELS TO BE LEGALIZED IN CANADA?

OTTAWA, Dec 16 (LSN)  A report by a Federal/Provincial/Territorial Working Group on Prostitution recommends allowing prostitutes to open home-based brothels. The report was released yesterday by the Department of Justice, and according to today’s Toronto Sun, recommends that “interested municipalities and provinces” discuss with the federal government changing the law to allow “one or two” prostitutes to operate brothels in their homes. The report is called the “Report and Recommendations in respect of Legislation, Policy and Practices Concerning Prostitution-Related Activities.”
