MD’S OFTEN WRONG ON GENETIC DIAGNOSIS

CALGARY, May 18 (Lifesitenews.com) – The media storm around the late-term genetic abortions performed at the Calgary Foothills Hospital seems to have come to an end, but the controversy may soon be revived. Nurses at Calgary Foothills hospital revealed to Alberta Report magazine that babies are sometimes born alive at the hospital through induced labour, then are deprived of hydration,  nutrition and medical attention until their deaths.  Stories are beginning to surface of parents who were offered genetic terminations only to give birth to healthy babies after deciding not to let the medics kill their babies. Yesterday’s Alberta Report published […]

PARLIAMENTARY REVIEW OF CANADIAN REPORT TO UN DISALLOWED

OTTAWA, May 18 (Lifesitenews.com) – In a split vote the Heritage Committee decided against allowing Parliamentarians to review Canada’s report to the UN regarding child rights. The report is scheduled to be sent to the international organization in the near future. Official Opposition Critic for families, Eric Lowther, condemned the committee’s commitment to secrecy, objecting that “the Heritage Committee said ‘no’ to an opportunity for greater accountability.” During the current term of parliament alone petitions carrying the signatures of 13,000 Canadians concerned about the implications of the child rights convention on parental authority and family solidarity have been submitted to […]

PLANNED PARENTHOOD PUSHES ABORTIVE PILL IN NOVA SCOTIA

HALIFAX, May 18 (Lifesitenews.com) – Yesterday Planned Parenthood launched a major ad campaign in Nova Scotia pushing the abortive “morning after” pills. Posters promoting the pills have shown up in bus shelters advertising a toll free number where callers can be bombarded with deceptive information. One prominent example of the propaganda says: “Once a woman is already pregnant, emergency contraceptive pills won’t be effective.” This statement implies the revised definitions of “pregnancy” and “conception” which even exist in some modern text books. Pro-abortion groups like to claim that pregnancy begins at implantation (in the lining of the mother’s uterus), not […]

TORONTO SPERM DONOR DATABASE ON INTERNET

TORONTO, May 17 (Lifesitenews.com) – The disastrous system of in vitro fertilization, which causes the deaths of many tiny human people each year, has reached a new low in Canada. A Toronto sperm bank, known as ReproMed will allow customers to select sperm based on donors’ characteristics.  With its new Data Assisted Donor Selection (D.A.D.S.) program, ReproMed is cashing in on the ethical vacuum around in vitro fertilization and allowing clients to view photos of sperm donors’ eyes, ear, or nose profiles. Eugenic selection by eye and hair colour, once only written about in novels, is now a piercing reality. […]

HUMAN EMBRYOS UP FOR ADOPTION

OTTAWA, May 17 (Lifesitenews.com) – The law governing new reproductive technologies, promised by Health Minister Allan Rock for later this year, may allow for human embryos left-over from in vitro fertilization to be adopted by other infertile couples. Through an access to information request, the Ottawa Citizen learned that studies commissioned by the government on the issue suggest that normal adoption regulations could be applied to embryo adoption. Such regulation would create a strange paradox since the adoption of regular adoption procedures for embryos will demonstrate a level of concern for them. This would be in stark contrast to the […]

SUPPORT GROUPS FOR MOMS WHO MISCARRY

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas, May 17 (Lifesitenews.com) – “From the first moment you are pregnant, you are a mom (and) women deprived of a child through miscarriage should also be recognized on special days,  like Mother’s Day,” say those supporting mothers of children who have died during pregnancy.  Janet Tischler of Parsippany, N.J., who founded the 1,000-member Miscarriage Infant Death Stillbirth Support Group (MIDS)  in 1982 says that women must often suffer in silence because miscarriage is a taboo subject. The groups seeks public permission to grieve the loss of their stillborn babies. The Scripps Howard News Service today features the […]
