TORONTO, May 11 (Lifesitenews.com) – The National Post reported today that the Canadian federal and Ontario provincial governments used taxpayers’ money to fund a pornographic film about lesbians dubbed “a feminist sex fantasy.” The film called Bubbles Galore was exposed when it received the best film award at the FREAKZONE International Festival of Trash Cinema in France. NP reports that “the Canada Council, Ontario Arts Council, Toronto Arts Council, Telefilm Canada, and Ontario Film Development Corporation” are all recognized in the film’s credits for their “generous financial assistance’.”

ROME, May 10 (Lifesitenews.com) – A proposed bioethics law in Italy will put scientists in jail for 10-20 years for cloning human embryos. Also, those who engineer fertilization using semen from a donor apart from the married couple, or who use a dead husband’s sperm will incur sentences of 3-10 years. On top of the jail terms, fines from $60,000-$180,000 have been proposed. Scientists found guilty would also lose the right to continue their practice. CANBERRA, Australia, May 10 (Lifesitenews.com) – The Australian government announced today it will launch an independent investigation into the case of a Chinese woman who was forcibly aborted after her deportation from Australia. The investigation was urged by Australian Senator Brian Harradine,  the opposition Labour Party and Amnesty International. Centracchio, who, according to the Associated Press, is “reputed to be among the five most powerful organized crime figures in Chicago” was arrested May 3, accused of heading a huge gambling and extortion racket. KAMPALA, Uganda, May 10 (Lifesitenews.com) – Marie Stopes, a partner with International Planned Parenthood in promoting worldwide abortion on demand, has been stopped in Uganda. Africa News reported that the Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioners’ Council suspended Marie Stopes Uganda last week for allegedly committing illegal abortions. Officials from the organization claimed they were not procuring abortions but were involved in “family planning services.” The London headquaters of Marie Stopes International gained notoriety in England in July 1997 for its offering of a “lunchtime” abortion service.
