HAMILTON, June 9 (Lifesitenews.com) – Ronald Mark Wylie, arrested and charged in March for sending threatening messages aimed at abortionists, was sentenced yesterday to nearly two years in jail. Crown attorney Tony Leitch asked the judge for a six-month term in addition to time served, but Justice Morris Perozak sentenced Wylie to 18 months in addition to time served.  In handing down the sentence the judge said the threats of violence were “a planned,  deliberate, sober-minded, and prolonged terrifying assault.” In a press release issued at the time of Wylie’s arrest, Campaign Life Coalition stated it “is pleased when campaigns […]

HOUSE AFFIRMS TRADITIONAL DEFINITION OF MARRIAGE

OTTAWA, June 9 (Lifesitenews.com) – Last night, a motion in the House of Commons to affirm “that marriage is and should remain the union of one man and one woman to the exclusion of all others”  passed 216-55. The move was a brilliant preemptive strike at the anti-family agenda working through the courts. Even though some homosexual activists are still denying that a re-definition of marriage is their ultimate goal, pro-family MPs recognized that court rulings in Canada are quickly headed in that direction. Calgary Reform MP Eric Lowther seized the day and submitted the motion as Reform’s critic for […]

CLC Presentation Before the Canadian Radio-Television and Telecommunications Commission on the CBC

Campaign Life Coalition is a national Pro-life Organization which works in the political arena to obtain protection for all human life from conception to natural death. We believe that the news coverage offered by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation is biased against pro-life people of Canada. We have isolated just a few very recent examples of what we consider to be this type of reporting and ask you to look at them with us and examine the role the CBC plays in influencing Canadians with presentations which incorrectly portray the pro-life message and unfairly depict pro-life individuals. NEW BRUNSWICK ELECTION RESULTS

ST JOHN’S, NB (Lifesitenews.com) – New Brunswick’s provincial election yesterday has given the province a large conservative majority government in place of the former Liberals. The Progressive Conservatives won 44 seats and the Liberals nine. The New Democrats remain largely shut out of the government in the Maritime province with only one candidate elected. Pro-life questionnaires were distributed to Liberal and Tory candidates prior to the election, but few responses were received. None of the Tory respondents indicated themselves to be pro-abortion, while five claimed to be pro-life. Of the two elected Liberal respondents, one is pro-life and one pro-abortion.

CLASS ACTION SUIT LAUNCHED AGAINST ABORTIONIST

ORANGE COUNTY, California, June 8 (Lifesitenews.com) – The efforts of pro-life activist Timothy Wilson in California have resulted in a massive class action lawsuit against abortionist Dr. Edward Allred. Wilson rifled through the garbage at the abortuary and found names of 20 other abortionists and thousands of patients. According to a report in the Orange County Register,  on May 6, Wilson sent 300 patients letters that said: “It has come to our attention that portions of your medical records relating to your visit to Family Planning Associates were left outside in an area accessible to the public. We believe this […]

OTTAWA, June 8 (Lifesitenews.com) – The federal parliament will vote today on a Reform sponsored motion to restrict the definition of marriage to mean the “union of one man and one woman to the exclusion of all others.” The move comes in reaction to the recent M vs H Supreme Court of Canada decision, which pressures the Ontario government to provide spousal benefits to homosexual couples. The votable motion reads as follows: “That, in the opinion of this House, it is necessary,  in light of public debate around recent court decisions, to state that marriage is and should remain the […]

FEMINISTS DEMAND TAX FUNDING OF RADICAL AGENDA

OTTAWA, June 7 (Lifesitenews.com) – Unable to convince Canadian women to donate money, the radical feminist organization, the National Action Committee on the Status of Women (NAC) is pressuring the federal government today to hand over even more tax dollars to fund their unpopular “political struggle and revolution” against “racism, sexism, homophobia, ableism,  ageism and classism.” The National Post reported today that NAC president Joan Grant-Cummings is hurting for funds despite a recent $281,000 federal research grant. A NAC document shows that the group expects to take in “$741,692 in revenue next year, of which $642,892 is in the form […]
