WASHINGTON, June 25 (LifeSiteNews.com) – An official letter from the National Conference of Catholic Bishops was sent to the House of Representatives in support of the Child Custody Protections Act. WINDSOR, ON, June 24 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Luchona Pierce was sentenced to two years in prison for killing her 21-month-old son. TORONTO, June 24 (LifeSiteNews.com) – A study released in this month’s Annals of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada indicates that a majority of Canadian physicians (57%)  would not practice physician assisted suicide even if it were legalized. However, a report on the study by the Canadian Press indicates that 47% of doctors would accept the legalization of the practice. The University of Calgary survey used the responses of 2,010 doctors from across the nation.

TORONTO, June 24 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Less than a month after his electoral defeat, Ontario Liberal leader Dalton McGuinty has reaffirmed his commitment to the homosexualist subculture. He announced today that he would take part in Toronto’s Gay Pride Parade on Sunday. McGuinty,  chided Premier Mike Harris for not planning to attend the march. According to a report in the Toronto Sun, Liberal colleagues Dominic Agostino, and George Smitherman, the Ontario legislature’s first openly homosexual MPP, will accompany McGuinty on the march. Toronto mayor Mel Lastman also plans to attend.

The news came as a shock to scientists involved in the lucrative practice who believed that the government would allow it to continue for research purposes,  although retaining the ban on cloning to reproduce babies. FORT WORTH, Texas, June 23 (LifeSiteNews.com) – The Committee of Church Orders and Ministry of the Presbyterian Church voted 24-14 in favour of scrapping a clause from the church’s constitution that forbids the ordination of “self-affirming, practicing homosexuals.” The issue will go to the annual meeting of the church’s assembly for a vote later this week.
