The bill would repeal section 43 of the Criminal Code which allows for spanking (not physical abuse) to be used by parents in the discipline of their children. LEGISLATURE “DEBATE” ON ONTARIO PRO-HOMOSEXUAL LAW

TORONTO, Oct 29 (LifeSiteNews.com) – The historic Ontario legislative session which passed into law the right for practicing homosexuals to adopt children and be given all rights and privileges accorded to common-law spouses contained not one voice against the legislation. Several speakers noted that the Ontario law went further than the Supreme Court demanded and noted that the government had intentionally set the bill for radically fast passage giving warning to the opposition parties as to what was coming.  Attorney General Jim Flaherty (PC, Whitby-Ajax) announced the bill for the government and thanked his staff for assisting in drawing up […]

LIFESITE NEWSBYTES

Pictures of bestiality found on a public library computer by a nine-year-old girl have added momentum to demands for anti-porn filters on library computers in Calgary, Alberta. The National Post reported today on the pressure Calgary alderman Patti Grier is exerting to implement some form of child protection at library computers.   The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, responding to criticism of Gates for funding population control, denies that foundation funds are so directed even though “this month, the foundation gave $1.7 million to the International Planned Parenthood Federation,” as reported in the Seattle Times yesterday.    “Pro-life leaders from Eastern and […]

ANIMAL RIGHTS TERRORISTS MAIL RAZORS

OTTAWA, Oct 28 (LifeSiteNews.com) – A domestic terrorist animal rights group, called The Justice Department, “sent out postal packages, booby trapped with razor blades, to almost two dozen furriers across Canada last month”, reported the National Post today. It has since taken responsibility for at least 80 packages received by U.S. health researchers.  The group is traced back to activism in the United Kingdom in 1993. It began in Canada in January, 1996 “with a campaign against outfitters who work as hunters’ guides in B.C. and Alberta”, reported NP. Gurj Aujla, a British member of the group, who was “sent […]

QUEBEC TO INCREASE TAXPAYER FUNDING OF ABORTION

QUEBEC, Oct 28 (LifeSiteNews.com) – In response to demands from famed abortionist Henry Morgentaler yesterday, the Quebec government has said that it is willing to provide “more free abortion-  related services at private clinics. Morgentaler, using a flaw in Canada’s immigration policy, argued that since refugees can receive free (taxpayer funded) abortions in the province courtesy of the feds, Quebec residents should also be able to do so.  Women in the province have to pay $450 to have their babies killed, according to a report in the National Post. Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Manitoba “also refuse to pay for […]

ONTARIO GOVERNMENT TRASHES DEMOCRACY

TORONTO, Oct 28 (LifeSiteNews.com) – The Ontario government passed its legislation giving practicing homosexuals the same rights as common-law spouses yesterday after ramming it through the legislature only two days after it was introduced. Pro-family groups across the country reacted with horror as “the Tories completely sold out social conservatives,” to cite Peter Stock of the Canadian Family Action Coalition. Not only was public debate avoided by the hastened passage of the bill, but accountability to the Ontario public was abandoned when this revolutionary law was passed without a recorded vote.  For more see today’s LifeSite Special Report:  Ontario Government […]

MP WANTS ELECTIONS CANADA TO SET FEMINIST AGENDA

OTTAWA, Oct 28 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Despite the positive rhetoric about families in the Prime Minister’s Throne speech earlier this month, the party still appears to be strongly influenced by discriminatory feminist ideology. According to an article in yesterday’s National Post, Don Boudria, the federal minister responsible for electoral reform, has “suggested [that] national political parties should be given financial inducements to recruit more women candidates in federal elections.” He seemed to be referring, in particular, to adjusting the percentage of election expenses that would be reimbursed with taxpayer dollars.  Implementing the suggestion would also compromise the integrity of Elections Canada, […]

U.S. HOUSE PASSES ANTI-ASSISTED SUICIDE BILL

WASHINGTON, Oct 28 (LifeSiteNews.com) – The U.S. House has added another pro-life decision to its legacy by passing the Pain Relief Promotion Act. Passage of the bill, sponsored by Reps.  Henry Hyde, R-Illinois, and Bart Stupak, D-Michigan, was relatively easy with a vote of 271-  156. The pro-palliative care bill provides for $5 million in training and education to improve end-of-life palliative care.  The bill generated sharp controversy in Oregon where assisted suicide is legal because it will ban the use of federally-controlled drugs for assisted suicides. As a result, “doctors” will have to find other methods for killing their patients. […]
