International Planned Parenthood announced yesterday that Bill Gates has given them another donation. The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has approved a two-year grant of $1,629,282 to IPPF for the Family Planning Association of India’s “Small Family by Choice” project.  The child who was operated on while in utero and had the photo taken of him during surgery grasping the finger of the surgeon was born on December 2 at 6:25 pm at Northside Hospital weighing 5 lbs 11 oz .  Pro-life E-News distributed this update today.

In recent months, the Medical Council of India (MCI) has begun demanding explanations from doctors in India who offer sex-determination tests to abort children of an undesired sex, mainly girls.  The Dec 4 edition of The Lancet notes that the Indian Medical Association (IMA)  regards this development as a “test case” to see what punishment can be meted out to abortionists and ultrasonographers “who provide sex-determination tests aimed at selective abortion of female fetuses”. The National Post reported yesterday that Sophia Park, 25, whose husband and family begged doctors to keep on life-support despite her brain death to save the 10-week old child in her womb, was removed from life-support by the hospital this past weekend and died shortly thereafter.
