Catholic World News reports that the Senate Judiciary Committee on Thursday approved a proposed law that would ban federally-licensed doctors from prescribing drugs for assisted suicide. A Nova Scotia woman who gave birth on her bathroom floor and then dumped the dead baby girl in the backyard was given a suspended sentence in Kentville provincial court yesterday.
