After four years of falling divorce rates, the incidence of failed marriages in Canada rose again in 1998, with one analyst suggesting the blame may lie with the prosperous economy. New figures from Statistics Canada show that 69,088 couples divorced in 1998, a 2.5% increase over 1997.
