WASHINGTON, DC, Oct 30 (LSN.ca) – Catholic World News reported that on Thursday the US House of Representatives passed a bill that would block Oregon’s legalized physician-assisted suicide, but President Bill Clinton has vowed to veto the bill. The legislation would amend the 1970 Controlled Substances Act to make it clear that doctors cannot use narcotic drugs, such as morphine, to intentionally cause patients’ deaths. VANCOUVER, Oct 30 (LSN.ca) – The British Columbia government has brushed aside safety concerns and plans to offer abortifacient morning-after pills directly from pharmacists without a doctor’s consultation as of December 1.
