PRO-ABORTION SPEAKER CHOSEN IN HOUSE OF COMMONS

OTTAWA, Jan 30, 2001 (LSN.ca) – Pro-life Canadians and opposition politicians are hoping for fairness despite the strong pro-abortion stand of newly selected House of Commons Speaker Peter Milliken. The speaker is supposed to be completely neutral and non-partisan in his rulings, but during the last two parliaments opposition parties protested alleged pro-government bias from the speaker’s chair.
