DEVELOPMENT AND PEACE FORCED TO ABANDON MARCH OF WOMEN

OTTAWA, Feb. 12, 2001 (LSN.ca) – Nearly a year after LifeSite first broke the story of the $135,000 donation from the Canadian Catholic Organization for Development and Peace (CCODP) to the pro-abortion World March of Women (WMW), the CCODP has finally disassociated itself from the WMW. The reason given by CCODP for the move is the CCODP “has learned that the International Organizing Committee has responded to President Bush’s funding cuts to international family planning projects by calling on national WMW organizing committees to rally in support of choice for abortion.” The B.C. Catholic newspaper reveals further that the decision […]

AGING CANADIAN POPULATION TO CAUSE FINANCIAL WOES

OTTAWA, Feb 9, 2001 (LSN.ca) – The federal Auditor-General’s report issued Tuesday warned of the financial woes that would result from the dramatic aging of the population caused by the massive decline in Canada’s birthrate since the baby boomer generation. The report validates the warnings pro-lifers have been raising for decades – that abortion and its related anti-child mentality would have grave long-term implications in addition to the death of countless unborn children. By 2030, the elderly will make up about 22 per cent of the population, compared with 12 per cent now says the report. While today there are […]
