SUDBURY, ON, September 26, 2001 (LSN.ca) – A pro-life demonstration outside a Sudbury high school on Monday morning was halted by an irate man who, according to one of the demonstrators, pushed several female protesters, grabbed their signs, ripped them up and then stomped on them. In the federal Health Committee yesterday Liberal MPs refused to endorse a motion calling for a ban on human cloning. The National Post reports that the Liberals say more time is needed to consider draft legislation. Ottawa has been trying to come up with a law covering new reproductive technologies for almost a decade. In 1993 a royal commission recommended a ban on human cloning. Pro-Life Infonet reports that the US House of Representatives yesterday again defeated a pro-abortion amendment to the military spending appropriations bill that would have allowed abortions at U.S. military bases. The House voted 217-199 to reject the amendment, sponsored by pro-abortion Rep. Loretta Sanchez (D-CA). NANAIMO, BC, September 25, 2001 (LSN.ca) – On Friday, former abortionist Dr. Mark Walter Stewart was convicted on 10 of 12 counts involving assaults on nine female patients. Stewart, of Campbell River, BC, will be sentenced Nov. 30. In reporting this case, the media have consistently failed to admit Stewart performed abortions.
