SMOKING HAMPERS CONCEPTION   Reuters reports that women who smoke while trying to conceive a child, take longer to conceive than non-smokers. PITTSBURGH, PA, October 31, 2001 (LSN.ca) – It is reported that American scientists have successfully created rhesus monkey embryos by cloning adult monkeys. The successful cloning attempts have raised renewed fears of human reproductive cloning since it was believed that cloning primates would be far more difficult than other species such as sheep and goats. NEWPORT, October 31, 2001 (LSN.ca) – A 32-year-old South Wales mother sacrificed her own life to save the life of the child she carried in her womb. Cheryl Anderson was diagnosed with cancer when she was two months pregnant, and refused an abortion and even went without pain relief in case it damaged the baby. SALT LAKE CITY, October 31, 2001 (LSN.ca) – A group of 40 Catholic students from the University of Utah, planted 3,200 crosses in the ground in the University’s free speech area Sunday. Each cross represented 32 abortions that take place in the United States every month (98,000 according to statistics).
