NEW ORLEANS, October 9, 2001 (LSN.ca) – A number of sex-education books, which received approval from the US Bishops Ad Hoc Committee on the Use of the Catechism, have been ordered out of Catholic schools in New Orleans. Many US Catholic parents have expressed serious concerns over the “Growing in Love” elementary school sex-ed program. After receiving such concerns, the Archdiocese issued a memo to parishes and schools forbidding them from purchasing any of the materials other than the student text.
