FEDERAL GOVERNMENT FINES PROVINCES THAT ARE WISHY WASHY ON ABORTION FUNDING

OTTAWA, September 20, 2002 (LSN.ca) – Government documents obtained by the National Post reveal that the federal Liberals have been penalizing Nova Scotia $39,000 a year for refusing to pay the full cost of abortions in private abortuaries.  However, the documents also indicate that four other provinces which either do not fund abortions in private abortuaries at all, or only partially, are not being fined.  All provinces except P.E.I. provide taxpayer-funded abortions in hospitals.  P.E.I. pays for them in hospitals outside the province.  The Post indicates that Health Canada has pressured New Brunswick, Manitoba, P.E.I. and Quebec to fund private […]
