CHICAGO, November 27, 2002 (LifeSiteNews.com) – The Archdiocese of Chicago has joined in the campaign to demand that vaccines are made without the use of tissue from aborted babies.  The Archdiocese of Chicago’s Respect Life office has ordered 500 petitions from the pro-life group which specializes in the area of vaccines – Children of God for Life. BUFFALO, November 27, 2002 (LifeSiteNews.com) – The judge presiding over the trial of James C. Kopp, who last week admitted to shooting abortionist Barnet Slepian in 1998, has placed a gag order on the case for the remaining months before the trial opens in February.  Judge Michael D’Amico ordered Kopp, his attorneys and prosecutors to refrain from discussing evidence or testimony before the trial. HONOLULU, November 27, 2002 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Hawaii Right to Life has won the right to begin broadcasting ads in a special election this week, in what is being described by media as a “setback” for the U.S. government’s early efforts to enforce its new campaign finance law.  U.S. District Judge Henry Kennedy granted a temporary injunction that allows the pro-lifers to air commercials in the state’s special congressional election campaign. ROME, November 27, 2002 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Two Italian doctors were sentenced to 20 years in prison Monday for performing illegal abortions.  Doctors Ilio Spallone and his nephew Marcello Spallone were convicted for doing late term abortions beyond the 90 days of gestation during which abortion on demand is decriminalized.  The 12 abortions in question were committed between 1995 and 1997.  Agence France Presse reports that an obstetrician involved in the abortions was given a 14-year term in prison, while an anesthetist and a secretary each received 12-year terms.
