Swiss MP Calls on European Countries to Decriminalize Euthanasia

STRASBOURG, April 27, 2004 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Swiss Parliamentarian Dick Marty called on European countries to study and eventually decriminalize euthanasia.  In a report presented today to the Council of Europe, Marty claimed that although only two European countries, the Netherlands and Belgium, officially permit euthanasia, studies have shown that the practice is rampant in several other European countries with authorities purposely ignoring the situation.  Similar to tactics used to have abortion decriminalized, Marty said that such rampant euthanasia must be controlled by decriminalizing it and having it regulated.  He suggests falsely that the legalization of the practice in the Netherlands […]

Students To Take Pro-Life Message Into Public Schools With Legal Backing April 27

ANN ARBOR, MI, April 26, 2004 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Marking the second annual “National Pro-Life T-Shirt Day,” thousands of students across the country are preparing to bring the pro-life message to America’s public schools on Tuesday.  In addition to the pro-life messages on their clothing, students will also bring the legal backing of the Thomas More Law Center, a national public interest law firm based in Ann Arbor, Michigan.  The Law Center has pledged to defend the free speech rights of these pro-life students from any attempt by school officials to force them to remove their t-shirts.  According to Richard Thompson, […]

Mainstream Christian Religions Backed 300,000 Strong Pro-Abortion March

WASHINGTON, April 26, 2004 (LifeSiteNews.com) –  While pro-abortion organizers claimed some 1.1 million marchers, police and media estimates put the marchers at last weekend’s pro-abortion march at somewhere between 300 and 500 thousand.  More than the numbers however, some observers were saddened by the support of mainline Christian church denominations (or at least their leaders) for the anti-life march.  The Episcopal Church, Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), United Methodist Board of Church and Society and the United Methodist Women’s Division were all listed as endorsers of the march.  The march’s organizers included the American Civil Liberties Union, Feminist Majority, NARAL Pro-Choice America […]

Australian Feds Push to Block Homosexual “Marriages” Performed Overseas

MELBOURNE, April 26, 2004 (LifeSiteNews.com) – As same-sex “marriages” become more of a reality for Canada and the U.S., Australian officials are planning a blockade—to disallow “marriages” of same-sex couples carried out on foreign soil from being recognized in Australia. The move is meant to make it clear that homosexual “marriage” is unwelcome by Australian officials.  The government plans to explicitly define marriage in law as the union of one man and one woman, until now the normal definition was assumed.  The Cabinet plans to implement the measure without any invitation for official consultation before the measure is passed.  Damien […]

Massachusetts Officials Ordered to Perform Homosexual “Marriages” or Quit

BOSTON, April 26, 2003 (LifeSiteNews.com) – In anticipation of Massachusetts May 17 date for the legalization of same-sex “marriage,” the Governor’s top legal counsel has told the state’s justices of the peace that, if they are unwilling to solemnize same-sex unions, they should resign.  Even though Republican Gov. Mitt Romney opposes the measure, Daniel Winslow told justices gathered in Boxboro, Mass., Romney’s office has mandated that the state’s justices prepare themselves to carry out the same-sex services.  “Gov. Romney understands and respects that people have very strong personal views both for or against same-gender marriage,” Winslow said. “But on this […]

Kerry in next Photo Op at Catholic Expense Receives Communion after Vatican Says No

BOSTON, April 26, 2004 (LifeSiteNews.com) – The day after Cardinal Francis Arinze, the Vatican’s leading prelate dealing with the Sacraments, said pro-abortion politicians should be refused Communion, Democratic Presidential candidate John Kerry received Communion at a Catholic Church near his home.  The elaborate description of Senator Kerry’s participation in the Mass at the Paulist Center indicates that at least the Associated Press was on hand to record the event.  The Paulist Center is a controversial parish known for questionable catering to practicing gays and lesbians.  The church refused to read a letter on homosexuality last November which was requested to […]

BERLIN, April 23, 2004 (LifeSiteNews.com) – German Social Democrats have decreed that, in spite of considerations of discipline and order in the military, soldiers in “relationships” with each other will be allowed to have sex in barracks, whether they are homosexual or heterosexual, single or married. MP’s claimed that the change was necessary to reflect, “social normality.”  MP’s are also claiming that the new rules allowing more sexual activity in the barracks will reduce the number of sexual abuses on women in the service of which 83 claims were made last year.  Historically in military life it is regarded as […]

Planned Parenthood Federation of Canada Awards Lifetime Achievement to Morgentaler

OTTAWA, April 26, 2004 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Planned Parenthood has awarded a “lifetime achievement” award to Canada’s notorious abortionist, Henry Morgentaler. Planned Parenthood often asserts it is merely a benevolent health information organization. This subterfuge is often employed when the organization sends its materials and speakers to schools and youth organizations such as the Girl Scouts. Morgentaler accepted his award Sunday at the Human Rights Monument on Elgin Street as part of a series of pro-abortion events across the country. Despite disclaimers to the contrary, the fact that PPFC is a branch of the largest and most aggressive abortion-providing lobby group […]
