By Kathleen Gilbert MADISON, Wisconsin, February 5, 2009 (LifeSiteNews.com) – After three hours of emotional debate, the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics Authority Board voted 11-3 Wednesday to offer 2nd-trimester abortions at a clinic owned by the University of Wisconsin (UW). The decision to open the Madison Surgery Center to the abortions came amid a sizeable pro-life protest, with counter-protesters gathering outside the building in the bitter cold.  A rally of 2,000 had also gathered last Saturday at the UW campus, and marched to the surgery clinic to condemn the proposal. Abortion advocates urged the UW facility, which apparently […]

Commentary on February 4 News – Archbishop Burke Tells it Like it is

Dear Readers, Archbishop Burke, like Cardinal Arinze before him, emphasizes the clear obligation and plain common sense of denying Holy Communion to obstinantly pro-abortion Catholic politicians. Why are so many leading Catholic clerics making this issue far more complicated than it is and persistently giving such lame excuses for not taking meaningful action? Abortion is murder. Influential Catholics who publicly and persistently support abortion are advocates of this murder and its trashing of the sacredness of all human life. When bishops refuse to take meaningful action against such prominent Catholics, they unintentionally give the message that abortion killings are not […]
