President Barack Obama’s decision to endorse the derisively named “Respect for Marriage Act” demonstrates a rather concerning contempt by the President for pro-family Americans.  Even when given to one side of an argument a President doesn’t normally taunt Americans on the other side. During a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing yesterday for the incredibly named “Respect for Marriage Act” – the measure to repeal DOMA – Democrat Sen. Al Franken of Minnesota attempted to make a fool of Focus on the Family’s Tom Minnery for asserting that children in traditional households do much better in several respects than those in nontraditional households. A while back a European condom company released an advertisement that horrified pretty much anyone with a scrap of decency left. The ad shows a man with his young son in a grocery store. After the child repeatedly puts a bag of candy into the grocery cart, and his father repeatedly puts it back, the child breaks into a hysterical tantrum, throwing himself on the ground, and screaming at the top of his lungs. Part of my mission with this blog is to introduce and promote people who are doing great work that many might not have heard of. Reggie Littlejohn, President of Women’s Rights Without Frontiers is just such a person. She has a powerful new video with numbers and a story that simply beggar the imagination. Thursday, July 14 was a beautiful night. Not only was the District thrilled that another impending DC-area rainstorm was avoided, but those that gathered on the rooftop of 600 14th Street NW for Students for Life of America’s 2011 Summer Social were especially pleased. The Register-Guard paper in Oregon reported last week that Governor John Kitzhaber on signed the bill into law that outlaws the sale of “suicide kits” in Oregon. The paper stated: Oregon is the first state to pass legislation outlawing the sale of “suicide kits” aimed at assisting or encouraging people to take their own lives.
