Martin M. Barillas

Martin Barillas is a former U.S. diplomat who served at embassies in Europe and South America, and earned a Meritorious Service Award from the U.S. Department of State. After his diplomatic service, he was an advocate for human rights and democracy in Latin America. He is the author of the historical novel "Shaken Earth" and has written and edited investigative reports and breaking news for several websites. Martin and his wife have four children. He is fluent in Spanish.
