Asked about denying pro-abortion Joe Biden communion, Cdl Dolan says, ‘I wouldn’t do it’

While Dolan took pains to defend a South Carolina priest’s withholding Communion from the pro-abortion politician, he admitted he would not have done the same thing.

NEW YORK CITY, October 31, 2019 (LifeSiteNews) — Archbishop Cardinal Timothy Dolan said he would not deny Holy Communion to Democrat Joseph Biden, despite the latter’s support for abortion in contradiction to Catholic teachings.

Appearing on Fox & Friends on Thursday, Cardinal Dolan was asked for his reaction to news that a priest in South Carolina had denied the Eucharist to Biden, who was accompanying Mrs. Biden to Mass at St. Anthony Parish in Florence during a campaign stop on Sunday.

“Did the South Carolina priest do the right thing?” interviewer Steve Doocy asked. At length and after some cross-talk, Dolan finally responded, “I wouldn’t do it.”

Saying the South Carolina priest might have considered another way to admonish the pro-abortion Democratic presidential candidate, Dolan admitted that he has never denied the Eucharist to anyone. “I never have,” Dolan said. “I’ve never had what you might call the opportunity or never said, ‘Uh-oh. Should I give him or her Holy Communion?’ It’s never come up. It sure could.”

However, Dolan took pains to defend the priest’s decision before admitting that he would not have taken the same action. “I think that priest had a good point,” he said early in the interview. “You are publicly at odds with an issue of substance — critical substance. We’re talking about life and death in the Church. You personally, out of integrity, should not approach Holy Communion because that implies that you’re in union with all the Church believes and stands for.”

When news circulated about the denial of the Eucharist to Biden, the pastor of St. Anthony parish in Florence, South Carolina, Fr. Robert E. Morey, released a statement to CNA, saying,  "Sadly, this past Sunday, I had to refuse Holy Communion to former Vice President Joe Biden. Holy Communion signifies we are one with God, each other and the Church. Our actions should reflect that. Any public figure who advocates for abortion places himself or herself outside of Church teaching."

Later in the interview, pressed to make a judgment on Fr. Morey’s decision, Dolan demurred again: “I think what he said was very to the point. I thought that was a good teaching moment. But whether that prudential judgment was wise? I don’t want to judge him, either.” Then he said, “I wouldn’t do it.”

Dolan told Doocy he prefers to take people aside and offer them counsel about Catholic teachings. A potential communicant, he said, who realizes he is not in union with those teachings should reflect interiorly and refrain from approaching the altar. “That’s always preferable to making a split-second decision and denying somebody.”

Dolan said that when celebrating Mass, he has seen famous pro-abortion people in the congregation. “Glad they’re there. All are welcome,” he said, adding that they usually do not approach the altar. He surmised that they understand that presenting themselves for the Eucharist while retaining pro-abortion views would be “hypocritical.” “I admire it when they don’t” present themselves, he said.

Dolan recalled the words of the present pontiff, saying, “We also remember Pope Francis — ‘I personally can never judge the state of a person’s soul.’ So, it's difficult, that’s what I'm saying. I’m not there as a tribunal, as a judge in distributing Holy Communion. I’m there as a pastor, as a doctor of souls. So it’s difficult to make a judgment on the state of a person’s soul. My job is to help people, with clear Church teaching, make a decision on the state of their soul and the repercussions of that.”

Dolan also said, “If only saints could receive Holy Communion, we wouldn’t have anybody at Mass, including myself.”

Canon 915 of the Catholic Church’s Code of Canon Law says those “obstinately persevering in manifest grave sin are not to be admitted to Holy Communion.” Other bishops have implemented this canon against high-profile Catholics who publicly dissent against Church teaching, making their positions widely known. For example, in 2018, Bishop Joseph Naumann of Kansas City, Kans. barred pro-abortion Kansas governor and later Obama-era Cabinet official Kathleen Sebelius from receiving Communion because of her public and vigorous support of abortion.

In 2014, Cardinal Dolan dismissed the debate over whether to deny Communion to pro-abortion politicians as “an inflammatory issue” that is now “in the past.” In 2010, a local Albany news outlet reported Dolan saying he “preferr[ed] to follow the lead of Popes John Paul II and Benedict XVI, who said it was better to try to persuade them than to impose sanctions.”

Fr. Morely was apparently following a diocesan directive regarding the reception of Holy Communion by pro-abortion politicians. The policy, issued in 2004 by the Diocese of Charleston, requires priests to withhold the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ from politicos who support abortion. Signed jointly by the bishops of Atlanta, Charleston, and Charlotte, the policy states: “Catholic public officials who consistently support abortion on demand are cooperating with evil in a public manner. By supporting pro-abortion legislation they participate in manifest grave sin, a condition which excludes them from admission to Holy Communion as long as they persist in the pro-abortion stance.”

The statement went on: “We declare that Catholics serving in public life espousing positions contrary to the teaching of the Church on the sanctity and inviolability of human life, especially those running for or elected to public office, are not to be admitted to Holy Communion in any Catholic church within our jurisdictions: the Archdiocese of Atlanta, the Dioceses of Charleston and Charlotte.”

“We undertake this action to safeguard the sacred dignity of the Most Holy Sacrament of the Altar, to reassure the faithful, and to save sinners,” the decree added. Titled “Worthy to Receive the Lamb: Catholics in Political Life and the Reception of Holy Communion,” the policy states: “Catholics in political life have the responsibility to exemplify in their public service this teaching of the Church, and to work for the protection of all innocent life. There can be no contradiction between the values bestowed by Baptism and the Catholic Faith, and the public expression of those values.”

“A manifest lack of proper disposition for Holy Communion is found to be present in those who consistently support pro-abortion legislation. Because support for pro-abortion legislation is gravely sinful, such persons should not be admitted to Holy Communion,” the decree continues.

On Tuesday, the Diocese of Wilmington, Delaware, Biden’s home diocese, issued a statement saying it “has consistently refrained from politicizing the Eucharist, and will continue to do so.”

“The Church’s teachings on the protection of human life from the moment of conception is clear and well-known,” the statement said, adding that Bishop W. Francis Malooly’s “preference” is “to interact with politicians individually who disagree with significant church teachings.” The statement underscored Malooly’s position of 2008, laid out in an article in the diocesan newspaper: he would not “politicize the Eucharist as a way of communicat[ing] Catholic Church teachings,” adding that he prefers to change the “mind and heart” of politicians through “conversation.”

Biden is currently a leading 2020 Democratic presidential candidates. A lifelong Catholic, he was a U.S. senator for Delaware (1973–2009) and served under Barack Obama as vice president (2009–2017).

As a politician, Biden has long supported abortion. More recently, Biden has announced that he favors public funding of Planned Parenthood, public funding of abortion, and repeal of the Hyde Amendment and the Mexico City Policy. His campaign calls for the codification of Roe v. Wade, the 1973 Supreme Court decision that allowed abortion nationwide.

Fox News reported that Biden reacted to the denial of Holy Communion: “I’m not going to discuss that. That’s just my personal life. I’m a practicing Catholic. I practice my faith, but I’ve never let my religious impose that view on other people.”

Some Democrats have suggested that by denying the Eucharist to Biden, the Catholic Church should be stripped of its nonprofit status.

MINNETONKA, Minnesota, October 31, 2019 (LifeSiteNews) – A drag queen who took part in a recent Drag Queen Story Hour event in a Minnesota town is under fire for briefly exposing his crotch just a few feet from young children.

Earlier this month, the group Child Protection League posted a photo from the event that shows drag queen “Sasha Sota” at Ridgedale Library in Minnetonka. Sota is sitting in a chair at the front of the room, spreading his legs as he reaches down to grab a book, revealing a view of his crotch in tight, flesh-colored leggings at the eye level of children in the audience.

“What kind of parents bring their children to watch an adult strip club entertainer read transgender books?” CPL asked, urging members of the community to contact Hennepin County Public Libraries to demand that future Drag Queen Story Hours be canceled. “One glimmer of hope is that 2 of the events were cancelled (sic),” the group said; “however, there was a sign saying they are looking forward to rescheduling them.”

Sota was accompanied at the event by drag nightclub performer “Gemini Valentine."

Children’s advocate Anne Taylor, who attended the event, wrote that Sota “strode in suggestively past the children” before sitting down, and spread his legs multiple times as he read two books to the children, both of which were about dispelling gender stereotypes.

CPL board chair Julie Quist told Church Militant that such behavior was doubly concerning in light of library officials’ refusal to put drag readers through background checks. “It's the same agenda which is bringing kids in and letting them think that exposing your genitals is a perfectly normal thing,” she said. “We're looking at the real onslaught of pedophilia becoming acceptable."

The news provoked numerous outraged responses from observers across the country:

Sota responded to the uproar by insisting that he was merely “picking up a book” and was annoyed with himself for forgetting to wear panties. “I’m not any of the things they’re saying about me,” he told City Pages.

At The Federalist, Chad Felix Greene argued that regardless of Sota’s intent and exact attire, “the image perfectly demonstrates the concern of conservatives and parents everywhere. Adult entertainment is not suitable for children.”

“Many LGBT advocates simply do not respect parental concerns” and recognize that setting any limits on Drag Queen Story Hour would “acknowledge that conservatives are correct about the adult nature of the majority of LGBT culture and would therefore undermine their primary goal,” he wrote. These performers “came unprepared for their responsibilities and instead interpreted their performance as being like any other drag show. The performers did not consider their young audience or that their outfits were inappropriate. They did not think to protect the children watching them, accidental exposure or otherwise.

“And no one who advocates for them does either,” Greene laments.

Editor’s note: LifeSiteNews has in the past published news notes, a key list of pro-life and pro-family stories that we simply don’t have the time to report on ourselves. Below are news notes for October 31, 2019.

October 31, 2019 (LifeSiteNews) – Tradition-loving Catholics around the world have begun Allhallowtide, sometimes called the “Triduum of Death.”

Notable stories LifeSite was unable to cover today but deserve attention nonetheless include:

  • In a talk at Georgetown Law School, Former President Bill Clinton admitted that he discussed abortion with now-Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg before he nominated her to the U.S. Supreme Court. Ironically, the “Ginsburg Rule,” named for her responses during her confirmation hearings, is the principle that judicial nominees shouldn't have to answer questions about how they’d rule on particular cases or issues because it would supposedly be improper.
  • The Ohio Supreme Court refused to hear an appeal by a Dayton abortion facility trying to stay open, so the abortionists are pursuing other legal avenues, such as reapplying for a license to operate and appealing to a federal court.
  • The nation’s capital is buzzing with news about the resignation of Rep. Katie Hill, a pro-abortion Democrat from California. The openly bisexual freshman congresswoman was revealed to have been part of a “polyamorous” “throuple” relationship with her now-estranged husband and a female campaign staffer. Rep. Hill is also accused of having an affair with her male legislative director, something she denies. The liberal media have been largely silent on this scandal, with some voices accusing those reporting on it of sexism.
  • President Donald Trump tweeted his support for Covington Catholic High School student Nick Sandmann, who “could have a good chance of winning” his libel lawsuit against The Washington Post. This week, a federal judge allowed Sandmann’s lawsuit to move forward.
  • The Ontario school board will send a survey to parents of kindergarteners asking about the youngsters’ “sexual orientation” and “gender identity.” Beginning in seventh grade, students will answer the survey themselves.
  • A Los Angeles Times article titled “In the rush to harvest body parts, death investigations have been upended,” offers a deep look into the organ harvesting industry and how it’s preventing families from being able to learn how their loved ones died – and whether they were victims of foul play. In California right now, David Daleiden and his fellow undercover journalists from the Center for Medical Progress are being prosecuted by the state and sued by Planned Parenthood for exposing the abortion industry’s trafficking of aborted baby body parts.

October 31, 2018 (LifeSiteNews) – As Kanye West speaks his mind about an expanding range of cultural topics, representatives of the abortion industry are pushing back against the newly-religious rapper’s comments about the contraceptive drug Plan B and its abortifacient capacity.

During a recent interview for his new album Jesus Is King, West declared, “Democrats had us voting for Democrats with food stamps for years. What are you talking about guns in the 80s, taking the fathers out of the home, Plan B, lowering our votes, making us abort children.”

On Wednesday, celebrity gossip blog TMZ uncritically published statements from Plan B One-Step’s manufacturer and the United States’ largest abortion chain “correcting” West’s comments on the drug.

"Plan B emergency contraception is a safe and effective backup option when used as directed after unprotected sex or birth control failure,” Foundation Consumer Healthcare claimed. "Plan B helps prevent pregnancy before it starts by delaying ovulation. Plan B is not an abortion pill – it will not harm an existing pregnancy and it will not be effective if a woman is already pregnant."

"As Black women, we make our own decisions about our bodies and pregnancies, and want and deserve to have access to the best medical care available,” a representative for Planned Parenthood added. “Misinformation like this is meant to shame us and keep us from making our own healthcare decisions. Black women want and deserve support and access to the full range of reproductive health care, but this persistent lie is threatening our ability to obtain it."

In fact, West’s original comment was correct.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s online guide to birth control methods admits that while so-called “emergency contraception” pills ostensibly prevent fertilization by preventing egg release, they “may also work (…) by preventing attachment (implantation) to the womb,” resulting in the death of an embryonic human being.

“If Plan B is taken five to two days before egg release is due to happen, the interference with the LH signal prevents a woman from releasing an egg, no fertilization happens, and no embryo is formed,” Dr. Donna Harrison of the American Association of Pro-Life Obstetricians and Gynecologists explained. However, if the pill is taken during the “two-day window in which embryos can form but positive pregnancy tests don’t occur,” studies indicate it “has a likely embryocidal effect in stopping pregnancy.”

Kanye’s pro-life comments, which are part of a broader religious awakening the rapper has openly discussed in multiple interviews, are a stark departure from his past songs referencing abortion flippantly, and past use of sex-selective in-vitro fertilization to have a son.

Jesus Is King has been projected to debut No. 1 on Billboard’s Top 200 chart for its first week. As is often the case with faith-based or right-of-center content, reviews indicate a disconnect between favorable audience scores and middling critical reviews.

Texas school district to teach middle schoolers about sodomy, condoms

The curriculum includes role-playing scenarios about sexual encounters.

Correction November 4, 2019: This article originally said the curriculum calls for teaching children as early as third grade about engaging in sodomy and putting on condoms. Such instruction will likely not begin until six or seventh grade. LifeSiteNews regrets the confusion and is looking into this further.

AUSTIN, Texas, October 31, 2019 (LifeSiteNews) – Despite heavy turnout from parents opposed to the plan, the Austin Independent School District voted Tuesday to approve a sex education curriculum that calls for teaching children as early as middle school how to engage in sodomy and put on condoms, that gender is “non-binary,” and more.

As detailed by Texas Values, the curriculum discourages gender-specific language like “mother” and “father” because it “can limit [children’s] understanding of gender into binaries,” encourages children to attend LGBT “pride” rallies and explore other ways to become LGBT “allies,” and proposes various role-play scenarios for children to act out in class, including lesbians deciding when to engage in oral sex and how to handle the aftermath of a drunken sexual encounter.

The material also contains detailed instructions on how to put on condoms, and even advice on “how to lower the chance of pain and make anal more enjoyable” without fear of “health issues.”

Todd Starnes and Church Militant report that more than a hundred members of the community descended on the school board meeting Monday evening to express concern.

“Who gave you the right, Austin ISD?” asked the father of a fifth-grade student. “You have overstepped.” Another parent called the curriculum an “attack on Christianity and family and on parental rights.” Concerned citizens read specific details from the curriculum, with resident Gary Moore calling the sexual role-play activities a “dream scenario for pedophiles.”

Critics were met with opposition by pro-LGBT protesters, some of whom attempted to use loudspeakers and instruments to drown them out. The school board itself largely dismissed community objections, signaling their position in advance with rainbow flags on their desks.

“If there are any kids actually watching this I want to tell them directly that they, you have heard a lot of hate tonight in this room,” Trustee Arati Singh declared at one point. The crowd reacted to the accusation by booing, which board president Geronimo Rodriguez dismissed by simply telling the audience that counselors were present for anyone who needed them.

“This vote by the Austin ISD Board sends a clear message: people of faith and traditional moral values are not welcome in Austin ISD,” Texas Values vice president David Walls said in response to the vote. “By passing this curriculum, Austin ISD has broken the sacred trust that parents put in their children’s schools. Austin ISD parents have no reason to entrust their children to a school district that weaponizes education to indoctrinate children into the LGBT political movement.”

PRAYER PLEDGE: Pray for Kanye as he promotes pro-Jesus, pro-life message. Click here.

October 31, 2019 (LifeSiteNews) – Kanye West and his choir appeared on James Cordon’s Late Late Show this week for an interview in which the rapper shared more about his new religious worldview, including opening up about his “heavenly” marriage and the “riches” of having children.

The interview was an expansion of Corden’s recurring “Carpool Karaoke” segment, trading in a car for a passenger jet to accommodate the choir and their performance of “Jesus Walks,” from West’s new album Jesus Is King.

West explained that his awakening began while he was hospitalized in 2017. “God’s always had a plan for me and He wanted to use me, but I think He wanted me to suffer more and wanted people to see my suffering and see my pain and put stigmas on me and have me go through all the human experiences,” he said. “So now, when I talk about how Jesus saved me, more people can relate to that experience. If it was just, 'We grew up with this guy and he’s a superstar,' it’s less compelling than this guy who had a mental breakdown and this guy was in debt."

"God is using me as a human being — as humbly as I can put it — He's using me to show off,” West believes. “Last year, I made $115 million and still ended up $35 million in debt. This year, I looked up and I just got $68 million returned to me on my tax returns," he explained. “People need to hear someone that had been put into debt by the system talk about these kind of numbers now that they're in service to Christ."

"People who don't believe are walking dead,” he declared. “They are asleep and this is the awakening."

The rapper also discussed his family life, saying that while “people thought it would be uncool to be married,” in reality his marriage to Kim Kardashian is “heavenly” and “magnificent.” The father of four added that he hopes to ultimately have seven kids, because “the richest thing that you can have is as many children as possible," said West.

The first public signs of West’s evolution appeared last year when he declared President Donald Trump his “brother,” lamented former President Barack Obama’s failure to effect change in Chicago, and opened the door to potentially identifying as a conservative in the future. In other interviews surrounding the release of Jesus Is King, West has also denounced abortion, food stamps, and pornography.

‘Cold, calculated, institutionalized child abuse’: Experts comment on gender ‘transitions’ for kids

In the wake of the James Younger case, LifeSiteNews spoke with doctors, therapists, and experts about the harms of encouraging children to pursue transgenderism.

DALLAS, Texas, October 31, 2019 (LifeSiteNews) – In the wake of the James Younger case, experts and children’s rights activists spoke to LifeSiteNews about the “devastation” of subjecting kids to transgenderism, warning that this phenomenon is a “social contagion” with horrible consequences.

“Many of us hope that this case will usher in a return to sanity, science, and medical ethics rooted in ‘first, do no harm,’” stated Dr. Michelle Cretella, Executive Director for the American College of Pediatricians (not to be confused with the left-wing American Academy of Pediatrics).

READ: Judge rules dad will have say in gender ‘transition’ of 7-year-old

“Physicians and therapists who embrace ‘transition’ for children promote a political agenda, not scientific advance,” she said. “This is obvious once the euphemisms are shed: gaslighting, chemical castration, and the surgical mutilation of children is not ‘therapy.’ Social and medical transition of children is cold, calculated, institutionalized child abuse at the hands of those charged with healing.”

Dr. Cretella highlighted the fear professionals have about speaking out against the transgender movement.

“As one liberal head of a department of psychology in the Northwest told me, ‘We know this is harmful [to kids], but to say so is career ending,’” Dr. Cretella told LifeSiteNews.

Dr. Andre Van Mol, the co-chair of the American College of Pediatricians’ Committee on Adolescent Sexuality, stressed that gender dysphoria is a “mental health diagnosis” and “transgenderism” is “an overarching ideology.”

“When we are speaking about children and gender dysphoria there are some principles to understand. For one, gender dysphoria is a mental health diagnosis as opposed to transgenderism actually being an overarching ideology.”

Medical “transitions” for children have not been studied by the FDA, nor is there enough research for professionals to understand all of its long-term impacts.

“Any thought of ‘gender affirmation therapy’ for a minor is entirely experimental,” Van Mol told LifeSiteNews.

He continued, “Shoving it on kids as though it is the way to go is not merited by the literature. And a lot of the [gender-affirming] literature that is out there [is] deeply flawed.”

There is also an ethical concern with completing a medical “transition,” according to Dr. Van Mol: “You are permanently medicalizing something that has an 85 percent rate of desistance based on a self diagnosis.”

Dr. Van Mol highlighted the underlying source of gender identity issues that are ignored when pursuing “gender affirming” therapy.

“The overwhelming majority of these kids will have underlying mental health issues or neurodevelopmental disabilities. These are the things that should be addressed and the underlying problems don’t go away with so-called gender affirming therapy,” Van Mol shared.

‘Pre-teen brains are not developed enough to make irreversible decisions that include removing body parts…’

Katy Faust is the Founder and Director of Them Before Us, an organization committed to defending the rights of children in marriage and divorce. Faust told LifeSiteNews she is hesitant to celebrate the ruling.

“I will reserve my celebration until I see 18-year-old James intact and celebrating his male body,” she said.

Faust said a core issue at play in this situation is the viewing of children as objects:

“The idea that adults have a right to a child even if it means violating that child’s right to be known by their biological mother treats children as an object from the moment of conception. It’s as if he exists to make the mother happy, despite the cost to his natural rights. It’s not a great leap to then believe that this child’s own body exists for the mother’s fulfillment, regardless of the costs to his long term health.”

James and his twin, Jude, were conceived via in-vitro fertilization using an egg donor.

“The outcry over the situation with James Younger deserves every bit of attention that it’s getting,” said Faust. “The devastation of transgender ‘treatments’ are finally being revealed through this tragic case, as is the push-and-pull that most children of divorce experience.”

Dr. Julie Hamilton, Ph.D., LMFT called gender “transitioning” a “social experiment.”

“Encouraging a child of any age to embrace a gender identity that is different from his or her biological sex is a social experiment which has not been proven through long-term studies to be healthy or effective. Furthermore, there is clear evidence that puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones pose serious health risks,” Dr. Hamilton told LifeSiteNews.

Dr. Hamilton, who has treated clients with gender identity issues, said that therapists need to understand the “underlying issues” of gender confusion.

READ: Here are the important details of the James Younger verdict (FULL RULING)

“Therapists who assist children in becoming more comfortable with their biological sex usually seek to understand and address the underlying issues, helping to resolve the issues that are specific to that client. Family therapy is usually a part of the treatment as well.”

“Some of the known risk factors for developing gender confusion include: parents wanting a child of the opposite sex; a child with a sensitive temperament, leading to interpretations of rejection,” said Dr. Hamilton, or “a poor relationship with the same-sex parent, poor relationships with same-sex peers, over-identification with members of the opposite sex, parental reinforcement of cross-gender behaviors, and sexual abuse.”

Mr. David Pickup, a therapist who operates the largest practice in Texas that almost exclusively helps patients deal with unwanted homosexuality and gender confusion, warned of the harm that can be done by “transitioning” children.

“Pre-teen brains are not developed enough to make irreversible decisions that include removing body parts, and in the case of young children, taking puberty-blocking drugs that could be permanently harmful to them,” Pickup told LifeSiteNews.

With his clients, Pickup doesn’t focus on behavior “affirming” gender confusion, but looks at the source of the issue, which is typically trauma.

“First is always the foundational goal of the rise of the authentic self according to...what is best for the client, and which reflects sound research,” he said. “Other goals include healing the trauma of the terror, pain, and abandonment issues below the dysphoria, which leads automatically to the authentic self in which the client feels alive, centered, authentic, and happy within their own bodies.”

“Lack of confidence of the rights of one’s individuality is growing, as well as the belief that the government must always be right about gender/sexuality issues, which are leading to the demise of parental and individual rights,” Pickup warned.

Children are traumatized by divorce

Pickup said there is a link between gender identity issues and the trauma of parents divorcing. He noted he has not met James, but commented that it is highly likely he is experiencing trauma from the divorce:

“It’s highly likely that the seven-year-old Younger child is experiencing detachment and trauma within this experience of the divorce of his mother and father. It is essential that this child receive therapy that increases the secure emotional attachment to his parents and therefore, eventually, to his authentic biological sex. In my experience, children will do anything, including being the gender that a parent wants them to be, in order to not feel abandoned by that parent. It’s likely that the Younger child is experiencing similar unresolved trauma.”

“At some subconscious level, all children are traumatized by divorce,” said Dr. Cretella. “Even when parents are abusive and legal separation is absolutely necessary, kids may still suffer depression, anxiety, and even blame themselves for the divorce.”

Dr. Van Mol pointed to the link between trauma and gender confusion as well as the link between divorce and rapid onset gender dysphoria: “The idea of the rapid onset gender dysphoria [is] that a girl in her midteens – her parents divorce or there is some kind of great family discord, and out of nowhere [she] announces to both parents, ‘oh, I am trans.’ It is a way of dealing with the pain and avoiding the negative emotions.”

Dr. Van Mol is the father of two biological children. He fostered nine children, two of whom he also adopted.

“Foster kids tend to have a disproportionately high rate of gender dysphoria and I will just answer with of course, by definition, they all come from broken homes and every foster care is a broken home,” he said. “You could say that about any human being, but because of where they came from they are particularly hurt and so they are particularly vulnerable to this kind of ideology.”

Mr. Pickup also stated that the “breakup of the secure family system” is a common underlying factor that leads to gender identity issues in his patients.

“Another factor is the breakup of the secure family system, which has been the foundation of western civilization for eons, and the growing belief of parents and society that a one-parent home is always just as fulfilling as a binary-gender two-parent home.”

The prevalence of individuals who identify themselves as transgender has been rapidly rising over the last 10 years. Dr. Van Mol calls it a “social contagion.”

“The prevalence of it should be relatively infinitesimal. According to the literature it [the prevalence] is thousandths of a percent, yet in the past year among American young people, up to two percent self-identify as possibly transgender-identifying. Something changed and it obviously wasn’t biology or genetics. I think this is starting to move like a social contagion. It's the ‘cool thing,’” Dr. Van Mol told LifeSiteNews.

Dr. Cretella told LifeSiteNews that the increase in transgenderism among youth is linked to social forces, including social media and political activism.

“The incidence and prevalence of transgenderism among youth, especially girls, has skyrocketed for many reasons, including cultural indoctrination via mass media, social media, and schools in the wake of adult transgender political activism,” Dr. Cretella told LifeSiteNews.

The shocking truth: Aborted babies are born alive and left to die

Jonathon Van Maren and Jill Stanek talk on The Van Maren Show about the hundreds of babies who are born alive and left to die.

October 31, 2019 (LifeSiteNews) – Jonathon Van Maren kicked off this week’s episode of The Van Maren Show by reminding his listeners that hundreds of babies born alive during abortions are simply left on their own to die.

Jill Stanek joins Van Maren to discuss these horrors as well as those mentioned at the Planned Parenthood baby body parts trial against David Daleiden. Stanek was a nurse in Illinois in 1999 when she discovered that babies born alive after failed abortions were purposefully neglected and left to die.

Stanek shares what brought her to expose the truth about these horrific deaths, explaining that her pastor advised that she “follow what Jesus said to do in Matthew 18. Go first to them privately. Then you take a couple of witnesses privately and then you go public.”

One year later, Stanek was called to testify before a U.S. House Committee about the Federal Born Alive Infants Protection Act. This bill laid the foundation to protect babies born alive during abortions. Van Maren asked clarification from Stanek on the difference between that law and the current bills that pro-lifers are attempting to get passed.

Stanek tells listeners that the abortion procedure that most frequently results in babies born alive is usually committed on infants between 19 and 28 weeks gestational age. These kinds of procedures are happening all over the world, she says, with hundreds of babies being born alive and cast aside to die alone.

Van Maren and Stanek also tell stories from the pro-life movement, analyze President Trump versus previous pro-life presidents, discuss the liberal mainstream media, and share the amazing work being done by the Susan B. Anthony List in the United States. While some of what they say is very disturbing, it is vital for every pro-lifer to hear the truth.

The details Stanek shares line up with what the Center for Medical Progress is trying to expose as it battles Planned Parenthood in court. Watch or listen today, and share with your friends and family.

A new daily rosary broadcast to end abortion

Fr. Frank Pavone has begun broadcasting a daily rosary, seven days a week, and is inviting all pro-life people to join him.

October 31, 2019 (LifeSiteNews) — It's no secret that the pro-life movement has a powerful tool in the Rosary. Those who are working to end abortion through prayer are often seen, rosary beads in hand, gathered in their homes and churches, or outside abortion mills.

Now, I invite you also to gather with me at EndAbortion.TV and 20 other social media platforms, where I have begun broadcasting a daily rosary seven days a week. The broadcast streams live every day at 3 p.m. ET, and is followed by the Divine Mercy Chaplet.

Both the Rosary and the Chaplet have deep connections to our duty to defend children in the womb.

The "Hail Mary" prayer, itself, is pro-life. In it, we honor a Mother, and call "blessed" the fruit of her womb. This counteracts the abortion mentality, which sees motherhood as more of a burden than a blessing and sees the fruit of the womb as disposable.

In the Rosary, we proclaim that we are sinners. "Pray for us sinners." "Forgive us our trespasses." It proves false the accusation of abortion supporters who tell us we are "self-righteous."  Rather, we are the ones who need to repent of our negligence and inactivity regarding abortion.

Most Catholics are aware of the Rosary but those who pray this devotion on a regular basis are also very familiar with the "Mysteries" of the Rosary, or meditations on various events in the life of Jesus.

The four sets of mysteries — Joyful, Sorrowful, Glorious and Luminous — bring us closer to Jesus as we are invited to journey with Him to the cross. The Mysteries also are powerful pro-life meditations.

At, I have linked each one of the meditations to a pro-life theme.

For instance, the Joyful Mysteries include the Annunciation, when Mary is troubled by the angel's greeting, yet rejoices to do God's will. We can pray that those who are troubled by their pregnancy will have the grace to trust in God's will.

Mary's assumption into heaven is recalled in the Glorious Mysteries. She was taken, body and soul, into heaven because she is the Mother of God. Mother and child are united. The Assumption reminds us that they belong together. We pray that society will see that it cannot love women while killing their children, and cannot save children without helping their mothers. We pray that people will be moved by the pro-life question, "Why can't we love them both?"

In the Sorrowful Mysteries, when Jesus is crowned with thorns, He suffers silently. We pray for the mothers and fathers of aborted children. So many of them suffer deep grief and regret over a choice they can never reverse. So many suffer in silence, because others tell them it's no big deal.

The Luminous Mysteries, given to the world by St. John Paul in 2002, call to mind the baptism of Jesus in the Jordan River. When Jesus is baptized, the Father's voice is heard: "This is my beloved Son." All are called to become adopted sons and daughters of God through baptism. We pray that children in the womb may be protected, so that they may be born and welcomed into the Christian community by baptism.

Regarding the Divine Mercy Chaplet, as is well known, it grew out of a series of visions experienced by St. Faustina, who was a nun in Poland in 1935.

In the revelations of Divine Mercy to St. Faustina, abortion was the primary sin for which God asked us to cry out for his mercy. Moreover, she was given an experience of severe abdominal pains which the Lord told her represented the mothers aborting their children.

Today, the devotion to Divine Mercy deserves particular emphasis for those who have had abortions and for abortionists and clinic workers.

I invite everyone to join me, daily or whenever you can, to pray these two powerful prayers as we ask God to end the scourge of abortion, in our nation and around the world.

Pew poll shows Americans favoring Trump’s impeachment. This is propaganda

Pollsters are at it again, pushing sketchy polls — not to reflect public opinion, but to shape it.

October 31, 2019 (American Thinker) — Pollsters are at it again, pushing sketchy polls — not to reflect public opinion, but to shape it. This is called propaganda, a popular tool for dictators who want to control the information flow from an all-powerful government to their subjects, the people.

What once passed for journalism is now mostly propaganda, an effort by major media organizations to insert themselves into the political process, to push their agenda, even if it means throwing any pretense of journalistic principle and integrity to the wind. Look at the Project Veritas undercover videos of CNN for the latest example.

Polls of any type are designed to take a scientific snapshot of opinion at a particular point in time. A small sample is taken from a larger population, and if the sample is representative of the entire population, then the poll should be valid.

YouTube screen grab.

When cooking a sauce, the chef might taste a bit to determine if additional seasoning is needed. If the sauce is mixed properly, then the small sample represents the entire sauce. Polls work the same way. A skewed sample will produce bogus results. This may be accidental or intentional. Which is it? I'll report, you decide, to coin Fox News's latest catchphrase.

Pew Research Center is the latest pollster to weigh in on President Trump and impeachment. Let's see whether its polling sample sauce was well stirred before the pollsters took a taste.

Pew sampled 3,487 "randomly selected" adults between October 1 and 13. That may or may not be representative of the general population, but given that only about half of eligible voters actually vote in presidential elections, a better sample would be registered, or even likely voters.

Who was in that sample? Of the 3,487 total sample, 1,453 were or leaned Republican and 1,942 were or leaned Democrat. In other words, 56 percent Democrat and only 42 percent Republican, a 14-point difference favoring Democrats.

The polling sauce wasn't well mixed, and they sampled the unsalty portion of the pot, leading the chef to believe more salt was needed in the recipe. When served, the sauce will be too salty, just as many pollsters learned on election night 2016.

The Pew poll asked whether "[t]he House should conduct impeachment proceedings against President Donald Trump." Notice that the question is about beginning formal impeachment, not whether Trump should actually be impeached or removed from office. To date [as of Oct. 14, the day this article originally ran —ed.], the House has not begun actual impeachment, instead using the House Intelligence Committee to hold secret hearings, excluding Republicans, selectively leaking to the media, all to create a charade of impeachment without the House actually voting for it.

Pew found 54 approving the beginning of an inquiry versus 44 percent opposed, a 10-point difference. If the 14-point difference in political affiliation within the poll sample was negated, there may be a 4-point majority in favor of not beginning impeachment proceedings. The unmixed sauce did not provide a useful taste test for the chef.

Is there a 14-point difference in political affiliation between Democrats and Republicans in the U.S. population? For one measure, look at any recent Trump rally. The crowd outside the rally, as seen below in Dallas, is larger than the actual audience for any of the Democrat candidates: twenty thousand people inside, the same number outside, and many more not even getting tickets. In city after city, week after week.

YouTube screen grab.

Gallup provides a more quantitative assessment. In early September 2019, Gallup polled about party affiliation and found 29 percent Republican, 31 percent Democrat, and a whopping 38 percent independent.

This sample is very different from the one Pew used, explaining the skewed result. Was the Pew poll designed to reflect popular opinion or shape it?

The phrasing of the poll question is also curious. I'm sure a fair number of Republicans actually want the House to begin impeachment proceedings. A few weeks ago, President Trump dared Congress to impeach him. If I were surveyed by Pew, I would agree with Trump and say yes to the House passing an impeachment resolution.

Am I now a RINO turncoat? Hardly. Once an official resolution is passed, Trump and the Republicans can call witnesses, serve their own subpoenas, and participate in the process. This would all be televised, not held in secret by the Intelligence Committee under the nonsensical umbrella of national security. I don't think this is what Pelosi and Schiff really want. To the Democrats, I say, "Put up or shut up."

If the survey asked me if Trump should be impeached, I would say no. But bring on the resolution; I'm fine with that. Make Democrats from House districts Trump won in 2016 go on record to remove a duly elected president based on an innocuous phone call with the Ukrainian president.

Pew is in good company. A recent Fox News poll was conducted by the left-wing Braun Research opinion firm. That firm reported by a 51-43-percent margin that Trump should be impeached and removed from office.

Those pollsters didn't mix their sauce well, either. Their sample of registered, not likely, voters was 40 percent Republican, 48 percent Democrat, and only 12 percent independent. Remember that Gallup noted over a third of the electorate identifying as independent. That's significant, as the Wall Street Journal found only 42 percent of independents favoring impeachment.

If Trump is so unpopular, why are so many turning out at his rallies? Rasmussen, the most accurate pollster in the 2016 presidential election, has a Daily Presidential Tracking Poll. In recent months, Trump has consistently polled ahead of Obama at the exact same point in their respective presidencies. On Friday, October 18, Trump's total approval was 47 percent compared to 44 percent for The One.

Trump has faced virtually nonstop negative media coverage for his entire presidency compared with mostly favorable coverage for Obama. Yet who has the higher approval ratings?

Good luck to the Democrats and NeverTrumps impeaching a popular and successful president, with record low unemployment, a booming economy, and a deliberate avoidance of foreign wars and entanglements.

The House voting for impeachment is a dangerous gambit. If the vote fails, the Democrat base will go ballistic. If the vote passes, vulnerable Democrats may lose in 2020, giving Republicans control of the House. And getting the necessary 67 Senate votes for conviction and removal is extremely unlikely.

Instead, the impeachment narrative is just that: a drumbeat from the media to dispirit Trump and his supporters. The polls provide propaganda, attempting to convince squishy Republican members of Congress to abandon Trump. Watch Trump and his supporters at any rally, and see confidence and enthusiasm, with dispirited faces only on CNN or MSNBC.

Fox’s Trump impeachment poll isn’t ‘fair and balanced.’ It’s fake news

Those on the political right believe that Fox News is an ally, while those on the Left criticize Fox as a right-wing echo chamber. Both groups are wrong.

October 31, 2019 (American Thinker) — Those on the political right believe that Fox News is an ally, while those on the Left criticize Fox as a right-wing echo chamber. Both groups are wrong. Fox News has made a hard turn to the Left in recent years. Roger Ailes and Rupert Murdoch are relegated to the Fox News Wikipedia page, while the new bosses are the next generation of Murdochs — woke, liberal, and no fans of either President Trump or his supporters.

Fox's news shows are peppered with liberals, from Juan Williams and the recently departed Shepard Smith to Donna Brazile and Chris Hahn. The evening and weekend opinion show hosts are still solidly conservative, but that number is dwindling. Fox is still better than CNN, for example, with no conservative voices, after firing Jeffrey Lord for the high crime of defending Trump on the Orange Man Bad network.

As the impeachment scheme falls apart, with no actual wrongdoing by the president, no bribes or extortion, no pay-to-play, no collusion, or anything else which Trump is accused of, but which Joe Biden actually did, the media have gone into overdrive to push the "everyone hates Trump and wants him thrown from office" mantra.

Who needs high crimes or misdemeanors if a majority of America wants Trump removed from office? Impeachment by opinion poll.

Impeachment is being boosted and promoted by the usual Democrat media outlets such as CNN, MSNBC, the N.Y. Times, and the Washington Post, but Fox News, so-called "fair and balanced," has been considered more reasoned than the rest of the Trump-loathing media — at least until Rupert Murdoch's two sons got more involved in the news business, tilting Fox News leftward.

Don't forget a recent addition to the Fox Corporation board, pushing the network farther in the NeverTrump direction. Former House speaker Paul Ryan thinks his new job as a board member of Fox Corporation will finally allow him to "do something" about President Donald Trump, according to a report in Vanity Fair.

The latest example is yet another impeachment poll, this time a Fox News poll showing majority opinion in favor of not only impeachment, but also "impeachment and removal."

What a headline for CNN and MSNBC to retweet endlessly! Even Fox News has turned against its favorite son, Donald Trump. Or so they say.

As with all polls, the questions are, who did the actual poll, and how was the poll conducted? Is this a "fair and balanced" poll reflecting the Fox News motto? Or is this more fake news designed to fuel the impeachment push, motivating fence-sitting House members to follow the supposed will of the people?

The Fox poll was conducted by Braun Research, "a privately held marketing and public opinion research firm" founded by Amanda Braun. Ms. Braun is a lesbian; is deputy organizing director and training director for "For Our Future," a progressive political action committee; was a regional organizing director for Hillary Clinton's 2016 presidential campaign; and attended Hillary's alma mater, Wellesley College. In other words, a solid liberal.

Of all the pollsters out there, Fox News found one far to the left for its anti-Trump poll.

Next is the methodology. Fox's sample of registered, not likely, voters was 48 percent Democrat, 40 percent Republican, and only 12 percent independent. Is that a fair representation of the U.S. electorate? Hardly.

Gallup, as of a month ago, provides an answer. The electorate identifies at 29 percent Republican and 31 percent Democrat, virtually an even split. But a whopping 38 percent are independent, far from the 12 percent in the Braun/Fox poll.

Aside from oversampling Democrats, which is a consistent pattern in impeachment polls, undersampling independents skews the results. The Wall Street Journal reports that only 42 percent of independents favor impeachment. If the Braun/Fox poll surveyed voters based on Gallup's party affiliation above, support for impeachment would be below 50 percent.

Another sketchy poll is the recent PBS/NPR/Marist poll. By a 52-to-43-percent margin, their poll finds support for starting an impeachment inquiry. Results are evenly split on removal from office. But what are the premises for impeachment? In the accompanying article, PBS asserts:

The House launched an impeachment inquiry against Trump in September following a July phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, where Trump asked the Ukrainian leader to dig up incriminating information on the family of former Vice President Joe Biden, who could be Trump's political rival during the 2020 presidential election.

Wrong and wrong. The House has not voted [as of Oct. 14, the day this article originally ran —ed.] to begin any impeachment inquiry. Instead, Nancy Pelosi and Adam Schiff have deemed it so without a House vote and are conducting their witch hunt in secret via Shifty Schiff's House Intelligence Committee. And second, Trump did not ask the Ukrainian leader to dig up dirt on Biden.

He asked about Crowdstrike, which claimed that Russia had hacked the DNC servers, initiating the Mueller Russia collusion hoax. Biden was mentioned much later in the call: "Biden stopped the prosecution and a lot of people want to find out about that." Is that digging up political dirt or investigating corruption by a former high-ranking U.S. official, something Trump is bound to do by his oath of office and a treaty with Ukraine?

This is the fake news being peddled to Americans about Ukraine, from network and cable news to most newspapers, with honest reporting delegated to Rush Limbaugh and a few conservative pundits. Is it any wonder the average low-information voter believes that Trump did something nefarious? It's just like when we were told for two years regarding Russian collusion, a constant media drumbeat without any corroborating evidence.

For comparison, look at Rasmussen, the most accurate pollster for the 2016 election. In its daily presidential tracking poll, Trump is at 49 total approval on October 11 compared to Obama at 44 percent exactly eight years ago. Rasmussen surveys likely voters, a more accurate sample than registered voters, many of whom don't vote.

Do the majority of Americans really want to remove a president they support?

As another barometer, look at the Trump rallies — two this past week. Twenty thousand or so in attendance, a similar number watching from the outside, and twice that number unable to obtain tickets. All this in deep blue Minneapolis.

Fox News has joined the anti-Trump media in using polls to create news and influence opinion rather than to fairly report public opinion. We've reached a new low in America when a popular and duly elected president can be impeached by dodgy opinion polls.

Planned Parenthood releases extremely graphic sex ed book for ‘the youth of today’

The book intertwines cute, illustrated drawings sure to appeal to younger readers with aggressively adult topics.

Warning: The following article contains extremely graphic sexual content. Reader discretion is advised.

October 31, 2019 (Live Action News) — Planned Parenthood recently released a book on sex, targeted at adolescents. "In case you're curious: Questions about sex from young people with answers from the experts" was dedicated by Planned Parenthood to "the next generation, the youth of today" — an odd dedication, considering the fact that Planned Parenthood kills 330,000 of the "next generation" every year, as the nation's number one provider of abortion.

The book, written to "show folks that having questions is okay," was authored by Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains (PPRM) and staffers Molly Alderton (PPRM's Education Program Manager), Daniela Fellman (PPRM's Manager of Texting Initiatives), Sex Educator Meghan Hilton, and Julie LaBarr (PPRM Program Manager). According to the book's editor, Alison Macklin — also a PPRM staffer and alleged "sex expert" — the book is based on questions adolescents texted to PPRM's ICYC texting service. The ICYC project was once referred to as "a notch in our belt" by former PPRM Board member Charles Von Thun, and by 2017, PPRM claims they had responded to 14,176 ICYC texts.

PPRM Planned Parenthood book In Case You’re Curious (ICYC) dedication

The book contains nine chapters centered on these questions:

Planned Parenthood In Case You're Curious website and book for teens PPRM
  1. "Can you die from masturbating too much?" and other questions about sex.
  2. "Can you break a penis?" and other questions about anatomy.
  3. "Do guys really cum in their sleep?" and other questions about puberty.
  4. "Is twelve too young to know I'm Bi?" and other questions about sexual attraction, sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression.
  5. "Can you get an STI from a toilet seat?" and other questions about sexually transmitted infections.
  6. "Do babies come out of the butt?" and other questions about pregnancy.
  7. "Wait, condoms expire?" and other questions about birth control.
  8. "Why do broken hearts hurt so badly?" and other questions about relationships.
  9. "How do I tell my partner no?" and other questions about consent.

"We use the terms 'person with a penis' and 'person with a vagina' in our answers instead of male, female, guy, girl, etc. We use this language because not every person who has a penis identifies as male, and not every person with a vagina identifies as female..." the book states in the introduction. And, right out of the gate, instead of discussing abstinence, PPRM tells its readers, "There isn't a perfect checklist to make sure a person's ready for sex..."

In addition, Planned Parenthood writes, "The term 'virgin' means different things to different people... it is up to each person to define what virginity means for themselves."

The book intertwines cute, illustrated drawings sure to appeal to younger readers with adult topics like:

  • A bunny with the question, "Why do girls fake orgasms?"
  • An elephant couple with the question, "When should I start having sex?"
  • A truck with the question, "What if the penis gets stuck in the vagina?"
  • An owl with the question, "Is emergency contraception an abortion?"
  • An otter with the question, "What if the condom broke?"

In addition, the book uses graphic illustrations of human sexual anatomy:

  • An illustration of a mature naked male
  • Various illustrations of the female vagina as well as multiple illustrations of the male penis
  • An illustration of an erect penis
  • Various illustrations of breasts

Under the chapter on pregnancy, Planned Parenthood tells young readers about abortion as one of its pregnancy options. "Abortions can be done safely by getting a prescription for medication to end the pregnancy," PP writes, "or by having a doctor end the pregnancy at a clinic," they advise. (Hmm...I wonder what "clinic" the texting service will advise teens to visit...)

Planned Parenthood also claims, "Having an abortion is not likely to change your chances of getting pregnant in the future. There is no evidence that an in-clinic or medication abortion will affect someone's ability to get pregnant..." But this contradicts Planned Parenthood's own consent form statement that abortion can lead to sterility, previously discovered by Live Action News:

Sterility means "failing to produce or incapable of producing offspring." Note that it is listed as a risk even for "medical/non-surgical abortion." Additional consent forms were previously highlighted by Live Action News here.

In the "wrap up" section of the book, PP lists several resources for teens, including a link to the graphic "Different is Normal" (video seen below), with links to Planned Parenthood's teen website which dismisses pro-life pregnancy resource centers as "fake clinics," and offers pregnant teens the abortion "option."

Planned Parenthood, which profits when young people are sexually active, should not be considered a trusted source. In an undercover investigation, Live Action documented disturbing sexual advice was being given to teens by the organization. Additional investigations documented Planned Parenthood's repeated failure to report child sexual abuse and even child sex trafficking. In addition, Live Action and Live Action News, among others, have cited multiple criminal cases revealing a systemic sexual abuse cover-up at Planned Parenthood. This abortion corporation appears to have repeatedly placed profits over the welfare of victims by failing to report these abuses, and at times, has returned the victim into the arms of their abusers.

Kids are lab rats in school boards’ transgender social engineering experiments

If you care about the country, you have to care, first, about the school board.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, Virginia, October 31, 2019 (The Stream) — I live in Fairfax County, the 10th largest public-school district in the nation.

But I never focused on our public schools. My kids go to Catholic schools, and that was the center of our universe. I never focused, that is, until I heard that the Fairfax County School Board voted to let boys into the girls' bathrooms.

The vote was 10-1. Was there only one sane person on the Fairfax County School Board?

I had to find out.

So, I began attending school board meetings.

And there I saw moms and dads begging the school board to stop threatening their child's privacy and safety in intimate spaces and on sports field. They pleaded with them to stop the pornographic reading assignments. They tearfully asked them to respect their family's religious beliefs.

These were my neighbors, fighting to stop their school board from playing sex politics with their children.

This shouldn't happen anywhere in America. I resolved that it wasn't going to happen in my county, on my watch, without a fight.

How Did Transgender Politics Get into Fairfax?

Most Fairfax parents don't know that every year, beginning in 7th grade, their children will be taught lessons on Transgender Theory.

How did this happen?

It all started with a vote in 2015 to add "gender identity" to the Fairfax County school system's non-discrimination policy.

You can watch the vote on YouTube. Hundreds of parents, filling the room, occasionally shouting, trying to be heard. You can see the board chair gavel them down and threaten to kick them out. You can see Ryan McElveen, the sponsor, scolding them, telling them they're on the wrong side of history.

And you can see board member Elizabeth Schultz, the bravest woman I know, raise her hand alone, and vote No.

Trans Pressure Groups Target Public Schools

All across the country, pressure groups are getting transgender mandates into public schools by targeting their non-discrimination policies. Well-funded national groups like the Human Rights Campaign, GLSEN (Gay, Lesbian, Straight Education Network), Gender Spectrum, Southing Poverty Law Center, Advocates for Youth.

They claim students are being harassed and demand that the only way to make schools "safe" is to adopt the Total Transgender Agenda:

  • Open all private spaces to the opposite sex
  • Let boys compete as girls in sports
  • Cancel free speech by forcing the use of false pronouns
  • Teach children some people are born in the wrong body

The Fairfax County School Board rushed the transgender policy to a vote with no hearings, no impact study, no public engagement.

They claimed that trans-identified kids were being bullied, and that the non-discrimination policy must be changed right away.

A Freedom of Information Act request revealed there were no reports of harassment of trans-identified students. Not a single one.

It's Not about Helping Kids, but Power and Politics

No one wants to see a child in distress, especially a child suffering from sex confusion. But solutions like dedicated private bathrooms, or strengthening anti-bullying policies, were shut down.

Because it's not about bathrooms. It's not about bullying.

It's about forcing all children and families to change their behaviors, their speech, and ultimately their beliefs, to conform to the new government-mandated social orthodoxy.

It's about power and politics.

Born in the Wrong Body?

Transgender theory teaches that some people are born in the wrong body. That's a horrifying message. For children, it must be a terrifying message.

And it's a lie.

The role our bodies are designed to play in human reproduction reveals our sex. We either deposit genetic material or we receive it. There is no third option.

Every one of our 100 million nucleated cells carries a copy of our male or female sex chromosomes.

Trans theorists say you can have a girl brain in a boy body. That's scientifically impossible. Male bodies have male brains.

Every Person Is Born in Exactly the Right Body

The truth is: Every person is born in exactly the right body.

Teaching kids they can be born in the wrong body is psychological child abuse, according to the American College of Pediatricians.

Thankfully, only a tiny fraction of children will experience confusion about their sex. And up to 98% of those children will grow out of it after naturally passing through puberty, according to the American Psychological Association.

"Watchful Waiting" or "Affirmation and Transition"

When a child expresses confusion about his sex, how should the adults around him respond? There are two schools of thought: "Watchful Waiting" and "Affirmation and Transition."

Watchful waiting acknowledges the child's suffering but remembers that more than 9 in 10 children with sex confusion will grow out of it, naturally.

Transgender ideologues call this approach bigoted. They demand that adults "affirm" a child's opposite-sex identity.

"Affirmation" requires that adults lie to children, telling them they really are the opposite sex, using opposite-sex names and pronouns, allowing (encouraging?) female dress and make-up for boys, cropped hair and "breast binders" for girls.

This is also known as "social transition."

"Hormonal transition" involves monthly injections of "puberty blockers" for 10 year olds. Cross-sex hormones are given a few years later.

The final step is "surgical transition," now known as "surgical affirmation." This involves the surgical removal of healthy organs and the grafting of tissue to resemble opposite-sex reproductive organs.

All of this — every bit of it — is dangerous to children.

Puberty blockers for "sex transition" are an off-label use. They've never been tested or approved for this use by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Adding cross-sex hormones can result in lifelong sterility. And permanently stunted growth, bone fracture, and memory loss.

Bullying Parents into Hurting Their Children

Activists in and out of the medical field push parents to affirm, affirm, affirm — because that's what a "good" parent does, if you "love your child."

Parents are pushed to get their kids on puberty blockers to "buy them time" to "explore their true identity."

But consider: There is only one study that follows gender dysphoric children who were socially affirmed and then put on puberty blockers. The percentage of these children who ultimately embraced their true biology was exactly 0%.

Contrast that with the findings of the American Psychological Association that up to 98% of sex-confused children will embrace their physical biology after puberty.

Puberty blockers don't "buy kids time" to choose their sex. They make the choice for them.

The Ultimate Trump Card Is Suicide

The trans bullies' ultimate trump card is suicide.

Parents are told they must do affirm and transition their child, or they'll lose their child to suicide. Better to have a trans-daughter than a dead son.

But there's no evidence to support this claim. The only long-term follow-up study is from the Karolinska Institute in Sweden, in 2011. The study found that the suicide rate among post-op trans-identified people remained at nearly 20 times higher than the suicide rate among non-trans identified people.

In other words, these poor people did everything the trans theorists would have them do, even to the point of surgically mutilating their bodies. And they are still killing themselves.

Sex change does not prevent suicide.

The Erasure of Women

If men are allowed to identify as women, "woman" has no meaning.

Radical feminists call it the "erasure of women," and they're right.

Trans activists demand that males have access to women's private spaces. Not only bathrooms, but dressing rooms, lockers, and showers. If women or girls are anxious about sharing intimate spaces with males, what recourse do they have? To object is to be labeled a bigot.

Will trans policies be exploited by male predators? Of course they will. They already have been.

What about Women's Sports?

Transgender theory is in the process of killing sports for half of the human race.

A male named Rachel McKinnon steals gold medals in women's cycling competitions. If you say that's not fair, he calls you a "transphobic bigot."

Hannah Mouncey is a 6'3" 220lb giant who plays women's rugby, and breaks women's legs in the process.

Last year a male mixed martial arts fighter fought a woman and broke her skull.

Fairfax Doesn't Teach "Male" and "Female" Biological Sex Anymore

Fairfax County public schools don't use the term Sex Ed anymore. They call it "Family Life."

And beginning last year, they stopped using the terms "male" or "female" in the context of biological sex.

Last spring the school board voted 10-2 to remove the concept of biological sex and replace it with the term "sex assigned at birth."

"Sex assigned at birth" is a term pushed by trans pressure groups to support their agenda. You're not born male or female. Someone assigns a sex to you. You can change it later.

But students aren't given any information about the possible health risks and permanent effects involved in hormonal and surgical sex transition. The school board's curriculum drafters voted 12 times to exclude that information.

The transgender lobby group, GLSEN, celebrated the change. The group told the Washington Post that Northern Virginia public schools are used as "laboratories" for their transgender policies.

What does that make students in system? It makes them lab rats.

Daily Sex Pills for Kids

Another new Sex Ed lesson voted in by the School Board last year involves a daily sex pill known as PrEP.

Pre-exposure prophylaxis, or PrEP, is designed for a particular high-risk population: gay men with multiple sex partners of unknown HIV status.

It's a controversial drug even in the gay community. Even with a 10% failure rate, it lowers the risk of infection enough to encourage some to abandon the use of condoms.

Michael Weinstein, founder and director of the AIDs Healthcare Foundation, said: PrEP "will cause a 'public health catastrophe' by triggering a dangerous increase in risky sex."

And yet, the Fairfax County School Board voted 10-2 to promote it to students every year, beginning in 9th grade. Even when the drug was not approved by the FDA for their use.

80 Hours of Sex Ed?

The Fairfax County School Board automatically enrolls every child in 80 hours of sex ed without their parents' permission.

Think of the mischief that can be done in 80 hours. Think of all of the real education that's not being done in those hours!

Here are some examples:

  • 6th grade lessons talk of "sexual partners"
  • 7th graders get a lesson with 11 references to "oral sex"
  • Beginning in 7th grade, students are taught their sex was assigned at birth, and taught about transgenderism as a healthy sexual identity (this lesson repeats every year)
  • 8th graders get a lesson with 22 references to "anal sex" and 20 references to "oral sex"
  • Check out this fake abstinence message for 8th graders: What are the benefits of abstaining from sexual activity "until in a faithful, monogamous relationship?"
  • 10th graders get lessons promoting abortion, and getting an abortion without telling their parents
  • In another anti-abstinence message, for 10th graders, students are asked to consider abstaining from sexual activity "until in a mutually monogamous relationship"
  • By 11th grade, it's about choice: "individuals who choose to be sexually active"
  • 12th graders are told that whether "to be sexually active is a very personal decision"

None of This Is Required by Law

What may come as a surprise is that none of this is required by law.

No federal or state law requires Virginia schools to amend their non-discrimination policies to include transgender identity. Fairfax County did it because they wanted to. And because they could.

Neither is sex education required. The Commonwealth of Virginia leaves it to each school district whether or not to teach it.

If a school district does decide to teach it, the Commonwealth gives broad guidelines that should be followed, including teaching abstinence before marriage. But the guidelines are a floor, not a ceiling. Even if Fairfax County can be said to meet the basic guidelines, they've gone far, far beyond them.

Opting Out Is Not Obvious or Easy

Currently in Fairfax County, opting your child out of Sex Ed is not obvious, or easy. Both because of the sheer volume of material and because of the limited and sometimes deceptive lesson descriptions offered to parents — beginning with the name of the program itself.

How many parents really understand that declining to opt out of "family life" means their children will get transgender sexuality lessons every year? How many immigrant families, fifty-percent of the school population, learn what their kids are being taught in time to opt them out?

Even parents who discover the dangers of Fairfax-style Sex Ed in time to opt them out will find that their child is still getting sex-related lessons.

For several years, the school board has been shifting lessons out of FLE into other classes, like health or history. This may defeat the FLE-based opt-out given them by the school board. But it certainly doesn't defeat the fundamental constitutional right that parents have to direct the education of their children.

In Fairfax and elsewhere, parents can send a letter to their schools asserting their rights and clearly stating their non-consent to have their child participate in Sex Ed they find objectionable. It can convey their expectation that school officials will treat their child with dignity and respect. And it can give notice that they will pursue all legal and remedies available to them if their requests are not honored. Here is a sample letter.

The Philosophy of the Public School Becomes the Philosophy of the Culture

In most districts, school board members do not run on a party ticket. But most of them seek and get party endorsements, which reveal their political standing.

Today, Democrats hold an overwhelming majority of seats on the Fairfax County School Board: 10-2. In fact, Democrats have controlled the Fairfax County School Board for more than two decades.

The political complexion of the citizenry of Fairfax County bears no resemblance to the radical, lopsided, one-party rule of the Fairfax County School Board.

The practical implications of this are that, if you live in Fairfax County and dissent from hard-Left political ideology in your schools, you have no voice. Every year you send 53% of your property taxes to a school board that has no inclination to listen to your questions or concerns. They can ignore you, and they do.

And what happens in your public schools really matters, whether or not you have children in the system. Because, as Abraham Lincoln said: "The philosophy of the schoolroom in one generation is the philosophy of the government in the next."

The Fairfax County School Board is up for election on November 5.

If you care about the country, you have to care, first, about the school board.

Priest who denied Joe Biden Communion saved him from committing a ‘heinous crime’

October 31, 2019 (LifeSiteNews) — It is right and just that Joseph R. Biden was denied Holy Communion by a Catholic priest last Sunday.

For decades, and in front of millions of other souls, the former senator from Delaware has strongly expressed support for laws diametrically opposed to the teachings of Jesus Christ, causing grave scandal.

Abortion and homosexual “marriage” are two of the most egregious violations of God’s law that Biden is and has been in favor of. Both are singularly evil acts listed in the Bible as being among the four sins that cry to heaven for vengeance.

The most obvious reason Fr. Robert E. Morey made the right call this past Sunday, the Feast of Christ the King, is because Scripture — the infallible word of God — states, “Whoever eats and drinks the Body of Christ unworthily, eats and drinks judgment on himself.”

This is no lightweight warning.

While liberal priests like Fr. James Martin think it’s not possible to know if Biden was in danger of violating that teaching, Biden’s obstinate persistence in supporting manifestly un-Catholic policies indicates he would have received Communion unworthily, and that the priest was simply looking out for the well-being of his soul by stopping that from happening.

At the crux of the issue lies widespread and unfortunate confusion over just what Catholics believe the Eucharist is and how it “works.”

Pope Francis has said Holy Communion is “not a prize for the perfect, but a powerful medicine and nourishment for the weak.” That’s true in a sense, but many take that to mean that any Catholic, regardless if he is in a state of grace or not, not only should receive it, but has a right to receive it, which is false.

When Catholics are given Communion — the Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Our Lord — they, quite literally, welcome Christ under the “roofs” of their mouths. They become united with their Creator.

For the same reason that an ordinary citizen would tidy up his house if the mayor or governor were coming over, so too must a Catholic clean up his soul by way of confession when the King of Kings pays him a visit, so to speak. If one’s house is messy and polluted by sin, Christ, by necessity, is dragged into what 19th-century German priest Fr. Michael Mueller called “a dungeon,” where He is “chained” to “the passions which He loathes.”

Dom Lorenzo Scupoli, author of The Spiritual Combat, rightly said the Holy Eucharist is “the most terrible of all weapons to the infernal powers.” St. Francis of Assisi likewise wrote, “Let the whole world of mankind tremble, let the whole world shake and the Heavens exalt when Christ, the Son of the living God, is on the altar, in the Hands of a Priest!”

What this means is that no Catholic should dare approach the table of the Lord if he has not first gone to confession, begged for God’s pardon, and promised Him that he would amend his life and sin no more.

If, as it is claimed, Joe Biden is a “practicing Catholic” and has in fact gone to confession throughout his adult life, it certainly seems he hasn’t changed his ways, even in the slightest, or that he has the intention to live by the Church’s teachings.

In 2016, Vice President Biden officiated at a gay “marriage,” tweeting, “Proud to marry Brian and Joe at my house. Couldn’t be happier...two great guys.”

While on the campaign trail in Iowa last month, he bragged that he was “the first person nationally to come out [in support of gay ‘marriage’] and say in front of everyone that I didn’t have to go through any period of adjustment...I didn’t have to evolve.”

Not only does Catholicism teach that homosexual acts are “intrinsically disordered,” but it firmly and resolutely affirms that same-sex couples cannot “marry."

Moreover, the Church holds that only a priest can witness the vows of men and women seeking to enter Holy Matrimony, one of the seven sacraments instituted by Christ. It is a grave violation of canon law to actively collaborate in a non-sacramental “wedding” of two men — a much worse violaton than, say, not doing enough to curb climate change.

Modernists on Twitter seem to think that denying Biden Communion won’t accomplish anything and that his longstanding support for “pro-choice” laws isn’t very different from conservatives who support the death penalty. “His soul isn’t in any worse a state than others who don’t live up to the Church’s teachings,” they reason. “Why single him out?”

There’s a discussion to be had about whether or not certain libertarian Catholics should be held more accountable for deviating from the Church’s social teachings, especially on economics. But the main point with Biden is this: he’s a national figure and has been for more than four decades. He’s shaped the lives of millions of people living on multiple continents. When he is cast before the throne of Almighty God, he will be judged “more strictly” (James 3:1) than others thanks to the influential positions he has enjoyed in this life. Like all persons who have ever lived, his fate will be determined by whether or not he lived in accordance with Christ’s laws and whether he used his state in life to help others do the same.

The priest who denied him Communion knows this. He had to get Biden’s attention and alert him to the danger he is in. He knows there is a hierarchy of sins and that supporting certain policies, like abortion, is worse than supporting other laws. He knows that Biden’s highly public and longstanding, unrepentant support for the intrinsic evil that is the killing of unborn babies is a big strike against his chances of getting past the pearly gates.

Biden, sadly, doesn’t seem to understand that. He believes that his Catholicism shouldn’t, or at least can’t, play a role in such matters. “I am personally opposed to abortion, but I don’t think I have a right to impose my view on the rest of society,” he said in his 2007 memoir.

Regardless of how many Catholics come to embrace this noxious, wholly misguided way of thinking, the Church’s teaching on politics and the Social Kingship of Christ is unchangeable: Jesus’s dominion extends to all nations, the baptized and the unbaptized. All “men are subject, and must recognize his empire.”

No one — not vice presidents, presidents, or senators — can escape this undeniable fact. “At the name of Jesus every knee shall bow — those in heaven, on earth, and those under the earth,” Philippians 2:10 states.

St. Alphonsus affirmed that doctrine when he taught, “An individual will save his soul by keeping the divine laws; a king, to save his soul, must keep them and make his subjects keep them, that is, reform bad morals and uproot scandal.”

Has Biden, in his role as a public servant, done this? To be fair, there are surely some laws he’s voted for that have improved the temporal well-being of everyday Americans. On the whole, though, he has caused much more harm than good, especially on the supernatural level.

In the mid-1800s, the aforementioned Fr. Mueller wrote a magnificent book titled The Blessed Eucharist: Our Greatest Treasure. In it, he said that whoever receives Communion unworthily commits a “heinous crime” and draws down upon himself a “terrible chastisement.” He recounts a story about how a young man concealed a mortal sin in the confessional out of shame and yet presented himself for Holy Communion:

On attempting to swallow the Host, he was seized with such excruciating pains that he was compelled to rush out of the church and to cast forth the Sacred Particle into the filth of the street. After this he felt instantly relieved. Our Lord gave him thereby to understand that the very filth of the street was more acceptable to Him than a heart that is defiled by sin.

More than anything, that story makes me reflect on our own sins and on my own failings before assisting at Holy Mass. It motivates me to get to confession every two weeks, if possible. I pray Joe Biden reads it someday, because when the Eucharist is administered to a soul stubbornly persisting in its support of sin, it is like putting Christ into a torture chamber and making Him feel all over again the sorrow and pain He felt when He was scourged at the pillar.

Below is an excerpt from Fr. Mueller’s book that should terrify anyone who dares to support — in the public manner Vice President Biden has — homosexual “marriage” and abortion and still present himself for Holy Communion. Moreover, it should cause priests to pause and think about what they are doing to Christ when they give Holy Communion to politicians who pertinaciously support laws that war against the teachings of Christ:

To receive Our Lord into a heart that is defiled by mortal sin is to bring Him into the power of His greatest enemy; it is to treat Him with even greater cruelty than Herod. Herod was an unbelieving Jew, but those who receive Him unworthily are Christians and Catholics. They know Whom they maltreat; Herod did not know Him.

Judas was a traitor! He was guilty of the blackest ingratitude, the basest treachery. He professed to be the friend of Jesus; he had received innumerable benefits from Him[.] ... He came into the garden where Our Lord was praying with His disciples; he gave Him a kiss[.] … Immediately, the armed multitude he had brought with him seized upon Our Lord, bound Him and carried Him captive to the palace of the High Priest[.] … How painful must it be to Our Lord to receive a false caress, to be folded in a sinful embrace, to be brought [by way of an unworthy communion] into the loathsome prison of a sinful heart!

WATCH: Bp. Schneider praises removal of Pachamama: ‘will be recorded in the annals of Church history as a heroic act’

Bishop Athanasius Schneider has issued an open letter forcefully condemning the use of the Pachamama statue

October 31, 2019 (LifeSiteNews) — Bishop Athanasius Schneider is truly one of the most awe-inspiring bishops in the Catholic Church today. An intrepid defender of truth raised up by God, he recently wrote an open letter condemning the idalatrous "Pachamama" statue featured so prominently throughout the Amazonian Synod. For today's Special Episode of The John-Henry Westen Show, I wanted to share with you the highlights of His Excellency's awesome statement.

In his letter, Bishop Schneider drew attention to several of the many verses in Scripture that warned against the worship of false gods. He said that he had to speak up in respoinse to the Amazon Synod because "syncretism and paganism are like poisons entering the veins of the Mystical Body of Christ." As a successor to the Apostles, entrusted with care for God’s flock, he continued, "I cannot remain silent in the face of the blatant violation of God’s holy will and the disastrous consequences it will have upon individual souls, the Church as a whole, and indeed the entire human race."

Noting the "evasive and contradictory" answers given by persons in the Vatican Press Office on what the Pachamama idols truly represented, His Excellency firmly stated, "Catholics cannot accept any pagan worship, nor any syncretism between pagan beliefs and practices and those of the Catholic Church. The acts of worship of kindling a light, of bowing, of prostrating or profoundly bowing to the ground and dancing before an unclothed female statue, which represents neither Our Lady nor a canonized saint of the Church, violates the first Commandment of God."

He then praised the men who removed the statue from Santa Maria in Traspontina in Rome:

Like a new “Maccabees” they acted in the spirit of the holy wrath of Our Lord, who expelled the merchants from the temple of Jerusalem with a whip. The gestures of these Christian men will be recorded in the annals of Church history as a heroic act which brought glory to the Christian name, while the acts of high-ranking churchmen, on the contrary, who defiled the Christian name in Rome, will go down in history as cowardly and treacherous acts of ambiguity and syncretism.

He continued: "It would be good for all true Catholics, first and foremost bishops and then also priests and lay faithful, to form a worldwide chain of prayers and acts of reparation for the abomination of the veneration of wooden idols perpetrated in Rome during the Amazon Synod...The first in the Church who should condemn such acts and do reparation is Pope Francis."

Amen to that!

Bishop Schneider is truly a courageous bishop helping to lead us through this time of great crisis in the Church. Please pray for Him. Also, pray for LifeSiteNews and for Pope Francis so he will affirm his bretheren in the Holy Faith of Almighty God. Read Bishop Schneider's full statement by clicking here.

Living on earth without the liturgy is like living in hell with the demons

The holy rites are our lifeline.

October 31, 2019 (LifeSiteNews) – Every autumn leading up to the feast of All Saints, there seems to be an ever-increasing interest in all things dark, disturbing, and demonic. Some people treat this as a harmless diversion, an innocent way of “blowing off steam” or “having a good time.” Others, more acutely, see it is a phenomenon indicative of a deeper spiritual unrest or malaise characterized by a perverse fascination with evil. Movies, popular music, video games, and fashion designs reflect the same trends. The secular world is making a truce with the Evil One, playing with fire. Those who play with that kind of fire get burned.

Our protection and strength come from clinging to Christ and His saints, above all in the liturgy and the sacraments He has given to us as our source of life and light. The devil, on the other hand, has no liturgy, no sacraments, no source of life and light. Taking a close look at this will help us to renew our gratitude for God’s gifts and the perils of wandering off of that path.

The fallen angels have no common work of charity, no common work of divine worship. As a desert father once said, the devil has no knees. His mentality is non serviam, “I will not serve,” and all the demons think the same way: mindful conformism. For this reason, there is no proper hierarchy in hell. They are more like bandits who are forced to stick together out of self-interest.

Contrary to the prevailing democratic way of thinking, liturgy is essentially connected with hierarchy: Christ the High Priest is the one who leads the worship, and He deigns to allow the participation of the priest, the deacon, the subdeacon, the ministers, the cantors, the choir, the laity, each in his or their own place and function. One cannot demand or create a liturgical role; one rather receives it and enters into it. To be liturgical is to submit freely to an external rule, an order not of our own making, a complex whole of which we are humble parts.

Liturgy takes us beyond ourselves into roles that are not inborn or inherited or fashioned; into realms that are off limits for mere creatures; into actions and passions that are supernatural in both their source and their goal. When we chant the liturgy, we are standing outside ourselves, in the heavenly places: “Our feet were standing in thy courts, O Jerusalem” (Ps 121:1). Our very action of placing on our lips words uttered by another is a reformation of our humanity, a putting on of Christ, a renunciation of the ambitions of Babel, and a quiet welcoming of the Spirit of Pentecost.

For all these reasons, the devil has and can have no liturgy: although he is compelled to submit to the rule of the Almighty, he does not wish to submit, and therefore cannot enter into the joy of his lord; he recognizes no rule but his own will, which is why there is no peace in hell; he has not the humility to allow himself be placed as a part in a larger whole, and to take for his own the words of another. He has no desire to suffer the ecstasy of love.

As Our Lord says in St. John’s Gospel: “He was a murderer from the beginning, and he stood not in the truth; because truth is not in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father thereof” (John 8:44). Jesus speaks with metaphysical and psychological precision. The devil is a murderer because he envies God’s life and takes it away from those who have it, rather than receiving this life as a gift and promoting the same gift in others. He stands not in the truth, because truth, for a creature, is always the harmony between the intellect and its object (adequatio rei et intellectus), such that the intellect is measured by the reality outside itself. The created intellect has truth, it contains truth, but it cannot be the truth—for that is God’s prerogative alone. In this sense, truth can only be in us, but never of us, as if we were its origin or measure.

Hence, the person who rejects the truth of God ends up evicting truth from his mind, and begins a career of falsification, both in the form of self-deception (we see how the devil throughout the Gospels and indeed across all of history acts as if he could actually defeat Jesus!) and in the form of deception of others (we see how the father of lies whips people into a frenzy of lying, manipulation, and conformism). The devil, and any of his imitators, “speaketh of his own.” He will speak only the shallow “worldly wisdom” that is his mental content; he will spout sophistry, banality, and cynicism. This is what comes of not being willing to take for his own the wiser, deeper, brighter, truer words of another—His Creator.

Lucifer, as his very name implies (“bearer of light”), was created to mirror the Word and in this way to be resplendently beautiful in his own nature. He abandoned the Word and thus became ugly in spite of his wondrous nature. A lake when still can take on the form of mountains against an evening sky, and in this way go beyond its nature of water to partake of the natures of earth, air, and fire. In contrast, a lake when turbulent and muddy in some way seems to lose the better virtues of water itself, such as its cleanliness, chastity, and ability to slake thirst. The clear lake in its reflection becomes more than itself; the muddy lake in its turbidity becomes less than itself. Herbert McCabe once remarked: “That is the theology behind the story of the Garden of Eden. There was no way that human beings could be simply human. They had to be either superhuman or inhuman.”

The holy rites are our lifeline, our umbilical cord, to Holy Mother Church; they keep us nourished and safe in the valley of the shadow of death. The original Death Valley is not in California, but in hell. Hell is truly the valley of death, because one who lives there, or rather continuously dies there, is stuck down in the depths and cannot get up to the high places, up to Mount Sion and the city of the living God. Scripture calls the fallen world in which we men are living “the valley of the shadow of death” because it is under the power—limited and destined to fail, but nonetheless real—of the Evil One.

We are delivered from his clutches by baptism; strengthened by confirmation for our battle against the world, the flesh, and the devil; fed the bread of angels in the Eucharist; cleansed of sin in penance. And in many other ways the victory of Christ and His company of saints is shared with us, so that our ascent to His kingdom may be sure.

A blessed feast of All Saints to all who are reading this!

October 31, 2019 (LifeSiteNews) – The pro-life group Live Action has produced a short new video showing the disturbing history of the abortion pill, including that it was created by a subsidiary of a company that produced gas used to murder people during the Holocaust.

The French pharmaceutical company Roussel-Uclaf created RU-486, the pill that is now used to kill preborn babies during the first nine or 10 weeks of pregnancy, in 1980. Roussel-Uclaf is a subsidiary of Hoechst AG, which made the gas used to kill Jews and others in concentration camps during the Holocaust.

Live Action also shows a Disney video produced for the Population Council, the pro-abortion group to which Roussel-Uclaf donated the U.S. patent rights for the abortion pill. It was approved by the FDA in 2000.

The shocking truth: Aborted babies are born alive, and left to die

By Jonathon Van Maren   Follow Jonathon
By Jonathon Van Maren

Jonathon Van Maren kicks off this week’s episode of The Van Maren Show by reminding his listeners that hundreds of babies born alive during abortion procedures are simply left on their own to die.

While some of what they say is shocking and has lurid details, it is vital that every pro-lifer hears the truth, as the details she shares line up with what Center for Medical Progress, David Daleiden, and Sandra Merritt are trying to expose in the Planned Parenthood lawsuit they are currently facing. Watch or listen today, and share with your pro-life friends and family.
