Melinda Gates’s ‘family planning’ group has strong ties to abortion, transgenderism

Family Planning 2020 stays relatively quiet on abortion, but its partners and the members of its steering groups fill the silence.

WASHINGTON, D.C., February 12, 2021 (C-Fam) — Melinda Gates’ Family Planning 2020 (FP2020) coalition celebrated the progress they say they’ve made since its debut in 2012 and announced a new, updated partnership for the next ten years they are calling FP2030. Beneath the festive veneer, the awkward fact remains that FP2020 has fallen well short of its goals. What’s more, despite the partnership’s attempts to maintain neutrality, several participants used the event to promote abortion.

FP2020 was launched at a summit in London, sponsored by Melinda Gates, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the government of the UK. Earlier that year, Gates announced that she wanted to make family planning her signature area of philanthropy, while stressing she wanted “no controversy” related to abortion or population control. “There’s a global movement waiting to happen,” she said.

However, there was already a global family planning movement, and its leaders were not interested in setting abortion to the side. Gates’ #nocontroversy hashtag quickly fell into disuse, and where FP2020 stayed relatively quiet on abortion, its partners and members of its steering groups filled the silence.

Speaking on a panel at the FP2020 event, Alvaro Bermejo, director of the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF), said “the partnership has really made SRHR [sexual and reproductive health and rights] advocacy issues more effective” by bringing donors and implementing organizations together and creating accountability for governments. FP2020 executive director Beth Schlachter agreed, echoing his support for “family planning and SRHR more broadly.”

SRHR remains a highly controversial concept which has been rejected by the UN General Assembly for decades due to its associations with abortion, comprehensive sexuality education, and sexual orientation and gender identity.

Another frequent theme of the event was the Mexico City Policy, reinstated and expanded by former President Donald Trump, which blocked U.S. funds from going to foreign-based groups that promote or provide abortions, such as IPPF affiliates. “We made a specific decision to ensure that MSI [Marie Stopes International] and IPPF remained on the reference group to demonstrate that people could have different opinions […] but we as a community were going to try to find a way to work together,” said Schlachter.

“FP2020 managed to remain as the one convener where the U.S. government and staff and technical people and implementers like ourselves and other donors came around the table,” said Bermejo.

Numerous participants denounced Trump and his policies, including Simon Cooke, CEO of MSI, who also spoke stridently about abortion. “We have pathways for trans men to access abortion services” at MSI clinics, he said, acknowledging that “these are infinitesimally small numbers.”

Between providing opportunities for IPPF and MSI to promote their broader agendas, the event showcased FP2020’s crowning achievement: 60 million additional users of modern contraception since 2012. This fell significantly short of the partnership’s goal of adding 120 million new users in that time. FP2020’s progress had been off target for years, long before the COVID-19 pandemic created global disruption.

While FP2020 framed its work in terms of creating access to contraceptives, its metrics continue to rely on “unmet need,” which does not measure access and masks the fact that only a tiny percentage of women described as having such a “need” cite lack of access as the reason.

UN human rights office prepares global ‘LGBT hate groups’ blacklist

The UN rights office's call for input denigrates defenders of life and family who dispute 'gender ideology' as conspiracy theorists.

NEW YORK, February 12, 2021 (C-Fam) — The UN rights office is collecting the names of anyone who opposes the LGBT agenda in any way.

Politicians, religious leaders, and organizations from around the world who defend life and family will likely be put on a blacklist by the UN office for human rights. The drastic new measure may be used to impose sanctions on pro-family advocates and expose them to terrorist attacks.

“Who are the main actors who argue that the defenders of human rights of LGBT individuals are furthering a so-called ‘gender ideology’?” reads a call for input from the UN rights office published last month, primarily addressed to LGBT groups.

In the broadly worded prompt, the UN rights office asks for examples of “public expressions or statements by political and/or religious leaders” who challenge LGBT rights.

“What are their main arguments?” the UN rights office asks. “Have they been effective in regressing the human rights of LGBT individuals? Have their strategies directly or indirectly also impacted on the human rights of women and girls?” they add.

The UN rights office’s call for input denigrates defenders of life and family who dispute “gender ideology” as conspiracy theorists. It takes it for granted that “gender theory” is not an ideology, but an unquestionable truth. The “meanings” attached to sex and gender are “socially constructed,” it claims.

In contrast to this true gender theory, it asks for details of the “narratives” of pro-life and pro-family groups who oppose gender ideology. These narratives, the UN rights office claims, are “used to fuel violence and discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity and their particular impact on sexual and reproductive rights.”

The UN rights office is especially focused on religions of pro-life and pro-family groups.

It asks for any “examples where the concept of gender has been used in religious narratives or narratives of tradition, traditional values or protection of the family” in opposition to new LGBT laws and policies.

And it asks for information on protections for freedom of religion, belief or conscience that would limit “the enjoyment of human rights (including sexual and reproductive rights) of LGBT persons.” The UN rights office even refers to conscientious objection as a mere “figure” instead of a basic human right that can be vindicated.

The inputs provided to the UN rights office will be used in the next report of the United Nations independent expert on protection against violence and discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity to the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva.

The UN LGBT czar appears to be adopting the approach of the Southern Poverty Law Center, of creating a list of “hate groups.” The hate list of the Southern Poverty Law Center was notoriously used by domestic terrorist Floyd Corkins in an armed attack on the Family Research Council in 2015. The use of such hate lists has been widely criticized.

Democrats introduced a bill in the U.S. Congress to create a similar international backlist last year, called the Global Respect Act, imposing sanctions on all foreigners who oppose LGBT rights.

It is not the first time the UN LGBT expert has attempted to focus on religion. In a 2019 report he called on states to “take decisive action” against religious leaders who oppose LGBT rights.

Supreme Court requires Alabama prison to readmit clergy for Death Row inmates

WASHINGTON, D.C., February 12, 2021 (LifeSiteNews) — The Supreme Court last night granted the request of an Alabama prisoner seeking access to a clergy member during his execution. The Alabama Department of Corrections has banned all clergy from the death chamber, depriving prisoners like Willie Smith from praying with a clergy member during their final moments. Smith’s execution was scheduled for last night, but a federal appeals court ordered Alabama to allow Smith’s pastor in the death chamber, and the Supreme Court upheld that decision.

Justice Kagan, joined by Justices Breyer, Sotomayor, and Barrett, agreed with the Court’s decision, writing that “past practice, in Alabama and elsewhere, shows that a prison may ensure security without barring all clergy members from the execution chamber.”

“If Willie Smith has to leave this world, he shouldn’t have to leave it all alone,” said Diana Verm, senior counsel at Becket. “Alabama used to know that, which is why it always required a chaplain to be with the condemned man until the end. Prisoners should be allowed to make peace with their Maker in their final moments. We are glad the Supreme Court has ensured that can happen in this case.”

Becket filed a friend-of-the-court brief in Dunn v. Smith in support of Smith’s request for Pastor Robert Paul Wiley, Jr. to accompany him to the gurney. Becket pointed out that most of the prisoners who were executed in the United States over the last year could have a clergy member of their choice present in the execution chamber. If the federal government and other states have been able to offer this religious accommodation, Alabama should be able to as well. In fact, Alabama required clergy in the chamber until 2019, when it changed its requirement as a result of prisoner litigation requesting equal treatment. In Murphy v. Collier, a Buddhist prisoner requested that his spiritual advisor be available instead of the Christian or Muslim chaplains that the prison provided. When the Supreme Court required at least equal treatment for all faiths, Alabama banned all clergy from the death chamber, even its own prison chaplains.

The Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit required Alabama to allow clergy into the execution chamber and the Supreme Court agreed with that decision, delaying the execution until Smith is allowed a pastor in the chamber.

Biden waffles on mask promise, now says they’re needed for a year, not 100 days

Before taking office, Biden said, ‘The first day I'm inaugurated to say I'm going to ask the public for 100 days to mask. Just 100 days to mask, not forever. One hundred days.’

WASHINGTON, D.C., February 12, 2021 (LifeSiteNews) – President Joe Biden, in a speech to the staff at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), suggested that Americans will be wearing face masks for the next year and not the 100 days for which he initially requested.

This announcement is a stark departure from Biden’s original plan to have Americans wear masks for 100 days.

Before taking office, Biden told the public: “The first day I'm inaugurated to say I'm going to ask the public for 100 days to mask. Just 100 days to mask, not forever. One hundred days.”

The president promised to mandate wearing “a mask wherever possible … as the new president, I’m going to speak directly to the American people and say what I’m saying now: We need your help. Wear a mask for just 100 days.”

“It’s the easiest thing you can do to reduce COVID cases, hospitalizations, and death.”

At the time, Biden went so far as to equate mask-wearing to being a symbol of patriotic duty, stating that a mask is an apolitical action: “100 days to make a difference. It’s not a political statement, it’s a patriotic act.”

Biden reiterated the notion of mask-patriotism in his speech to the NIH, in which he admitted, “I know it’s a pain in the neck, but it’s a patriotic responsibility.”

He went on to claim that “People are dying every minute from this pandemic,” and that “masking is still the easiest thing to do to save lives. We need everyone to mask up.”

Emphasizing what he sees as a grave duty, Biden said, “We’re in the middle of a war with this virus. It’s a patriotic responsibility!”

“Not only if you care about your family, but if you care about your fellow Americans.”

In concert with vaccinations, Biden claimed that masking will play a significant role “to drive down the numbers (of deaths from COVID) considerably.”

To demonstrate the severity of the “pandemic,” Biden noted that “More people died in the last 12 months than died in all four years of World War II, all four years.”

But conservative estimates put the global fatality of World War II at somewhere between 50 million and 70 million deaths. The more liberal accounts of COVID-19 deaths to date, including those who died with COVID and not necessarily from the virus, estimate around 2.4 people million have died from COVID-19, about 1/20th of the lower end of estimated deaths in World War II.

Be that as it may, Biden yet announced, “That’s why I asked (for masks to be mandated) with the full extent of my authority as President of the United States. I signed an executive order that requires masking on all federal property, on modes of travel, like planes, trains, and buses across interstate commerce.”

“We need everyone to do their part, for themselves, for their loved ones, and, yes, for their country. Mask up America, mask up.”

Biden’s remarks about a year of masking came as the one-year anniversary of “15 days to slow the spread,” a mantra Americans heard repeatedly in March 2020, approaches and as public health “experts” implore people to continue wearing masks even after receiving the much-hyped experimental mRNA coronavirus vaccine.

Three outspoken Canadian doctors who condemn lockdowns as causing more harm than good

'We will be paying for lockdown — in lives and dollars for decades to come.'

February 12, 2021 (LifeSiteNews) – While there are likely many Canadian doctors who quietly agree that lockdowns as a cure for stopping the spread of coronavirus may be worse in the long run than the virus, some doctors have risked their reputations by publicly warning policymakers just how damaging lockdowns may prove to be. The following three doctors are especially noteworthy in this regard.

Alberta heart surgeon

Alberta retired heart surgeon Dennis L. Modry, BSc, MD, MSc, FRCS, FACCP, FACS, criticized Premier Jason Kenney in a Dec. 11 open letter for imposing lockdown measures that “severely limit and, in some cases, shut down entirely many social, family, friendship, spiritual, recreational and entertainment pursuits that Albertans rely on for their well-being.”

Modry, who is a clinical associate professor of cardiothoracic surgery at the University of Alberta as well as the founder and director of the heart, lung and heart-lung transplant program, said the major tenet of the Hippocratic Oath that physicians adhere to of doing “no harm” is “ignored” by imposed lockdowns.

“I acknowledge with reverence those Albertans who have passed on from COVID-19, just as I acknowledge many others like Jerry Dunham who have died because lockdowns prevented their access to health care for very serious non-COVID-19 illnesses and conditions. I acknowledge the many with despair who have died from suicide and drug overdose.”

Modry said there is mounting evidence that “lockdowns are more lethal than COVID-19,” pointing to a December 2020 paper from the Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms making the case that delayed medical treatment, delayed or cancelled diagnosis, suicide, and drug overdose are causing a significant death toll. Academics from Harvard, Duke, and Johns Hopkins universities released a paper in December 2020 in which they claimed that COVID lockdowns would result in a “staggering” one million excess deaths over the next decade-and-a-half in the United States alone due to a spike of health-related issues caused by unemployment.

Modry recommended that the province reopen with “conventional pre-COVID-19 precautions.”

“Interventions such as total lockdowns, social distancing, and compulsory mask use are causing more harm than good. The genie (virus) is out of the bottle and the spread cannot realistically be controlled at all by the current interventions,” he said.

Ontario’s former chief medical officer

Ontario’s former top doctor told Premier Doug Ford in a Jan. 18 open letter that lockdowns are “misguided efforts to control COVID” and are “only compounding the tragedy.”

Dr. Richard Schabas, who served as Ontario’s chief medical officer of health from 1987 to 1997 and who was chief of staff at York Central Hospital during the SARS crisis in 2003, told Ford that lockdowns are not supported by “strong science” and were never part of the province’s “planned pandemic response.”

“Lockdown has been used by almost every developed country and, in the great majority of cases, the lack of response speaks for itself. Two recent studies on the effectiveness of lockdowns show that it has, at most, a small COVID mortality benefit compared to more moderate measures. Both studies warn about the excessive cost of lockdown,” Schabas wrote in his letter.

Schabas pointed out that there are “significant costs to lockdowns” that are often overlooked, such as “lost education, unemployment, social isolation, deteriorating mental health and compromised access to health care.”

“Lockdown is an affront to social justice because its burdens fall disproportionately on the young, the working poor and visible minorities. We will be paying for lockdown — in lives and dollars for decades to come,” the doctor wrote.

Medical specialist in pathology and virology

Dr. Roger Hodkinson, a medical specialist in pathology and virology, a former chairman of the examination committee in general pathology for the Royal College of Physicians of Canada, and current chairman of a biotechnology company in North Carolina selling COVID-19 tests, told the Edmonton City Council in a Nov. 13 meeting that “media and politicians” are responsible for “utterly unfounded public hysteria” over COVID-19.

“There is absolutely nothing that can be done to contain this virus, other than protecting older, more vulnerable people. It should be thought of as nothing more than a bad flu season,” he said.

“There is no action of any kind needed other than what happened last year when we felt unwell. We stayed home, we took chicken noodle soup, we didn’t visit granny, and we decided when we would return to work. We didn’t need anyone to tell us.”

Hodkinson criticized masks and social distancing to stop the spread of the virus as “useless,” pointing out that there is no real science to back up such protocols.

He pointed to the unintended consequences of the lockdowns.

“The scale of the response that you are undertaking with no evidence for it is utterly ridiculous given the consequences of acting in a way that you’re proposing. All kinds of suicides, business closures … It’s simply outrageous.”

“Everywhere should be opened tomorrow as was stated in the Great Barrington Declaration,” he said at one point during his talk.

Hodkinson said that politics playing medicine is a “very dangerous game.”

“You should be totally out of the business of medicine,” he told the politicians.

Plea to allow the healthy to resume normal life

The Great Barrington Declaration, signed by almost 55,000 medical practitioners and medical and public health scientists, raises “grave concerns about the damaging physical and mental health impacts of the prevailing COVID-19 policies.”

The signers call upon policymakers to allow those who are less vulnerable to COVID-19 to be “allowed to resume life as normal.”

“Coming from both the left and right, and around the world, we have devoted our careers to protecting people. Current lockdown policies are producing devastating effects on short- and long-term public health. The results (to name a few) include lower childhood vaccination rates, worsening cardiovascular disease outcomes, fewer cancer screenings and deteriorating mental health – leading to greater excess mortality in years to come, with the working class and younger members of society carrying the heaviest burden. Keeping students out of school is a grave injustice,” the declaration states.

The declaration was authorized and signed in Great Barrington, Massachusetts on Oct. 4 by Dr. Martin Kulldorff, a professor of medicine at Harvard University who is a biostatistician and epidemiologist with an expertise in detecting and monitoring infectious disease outbreaks, Dr. Sunetra Gupta, a professor at Oxford University who is an epidemiologist with expertise in immunology, vaccine development, and mathematical modeling of infectious diseases, and Dr. Jay Bhattacharya, a professor at Stanford University Medical School who is a physician, epidemiologist, health economist, and public health policy expert who focuses on infectious diseases and vulnerable populations.

“Schools and universities should be open for in-person teaching. Extracurricular activities, such as sports, should be resumed. Young low-risk adults should work normally, rather than from home. Restaurants and other businesses should open. Arts, music, sport and other cultural activities should resume. People who are more at risk may participate if they wish, while society as a whole enjoys the protection conferred upon the vulnerable by those who have built up herd immunity,” the statement concluded.

DeSantis slams Biden admin for considering Florida travel ban: ‘attack on our state’

February 12, 2021 (LifeSiteNews) – Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis is striking back against reports that the Biden administration is considering a travel ban on the Sunshine State and others ostensibly to contain COVID-19.

The Miami Herald reported that, per one White House official, “there are active conversations about what could help mitigate spread” of the B.1.1.7 variant of COVID-19, which the CDC says is most prevalent in Florida (with California a close second), including travel restrictions. “No decisions have been made,” but “this is a war and we’re at battle with the virus. War is messy and unpredictable, and all options are on the table.”

The official claimed that the administration would work with state and local governments on any theoretical action that might be decided upon, but Fox News reported that DeSantis, seen by many as a likely challenger to President Joe Biden in 2024, did not take kindly to the news.

"Any attempt to restrict or lock down Florida by the federal government would be an attack on our state, done purely for political purposes," DeSantis said Wednesday at a press conference. "It would be unconstitutional. It would be unwise and it would be unjust.”

DeSantis added that Florida fares better than 27 other states for cases per capita, and better than 41 other states in fatalities per capita.

“Florida is larger in population than New York, more disproportionately elderly, visited by more potentially infected tourists, and (as of the last census) its population is more concentrated in urban areas,” the Washington Examiner noted. But if the “goal were to minimize coronavirus deaths while also maximizing the openness of one’s state, the numbers bear out DeSantis’s success. In addition to having a much lower death rate, Florida had 25 percent fewer hospitalizations and 25 percent fewer new cases as of the end of January.”

“Meanwhile, the openness has paid dividends in helping Florida’s economy stay afloat amid the crisis,” the Examiner continued. “According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, New York had lost 2.5 times as many jobs as Florida as of December, year-over-year. That’s more than a million jobs, seasonally adjusted, compared to Florida’s 400,000. New York also just lost another 37,000 jobs in December as Florida added more than 15,000, and Florida’s unemployment rate, at 6.1 percent, was 2 points lower than New York’s as of Dec. 31.”

Even so, many who have attacked Florida’s response to the pandemic tend to excuse or promote New York under Democrat Gov. Andrew Cuomo as a model of proper leadership.

Travel restrictions could have severe repercussions for the Florida economy, which derives significant revenue from tourism. But they could also backfire on Biden by further raising the profile of DeSantis, who is already popular among conservatives for tackling issues such as Common Core, illegal immigration, and online censorship, and giving him another issue to use against Biden in a potential 2024 race.

Complaint filed at International Criminal Court over Australian gov’t’s draconian lockdowns

VICTORIA, Australia, February 12, 2021 (LifeSiteNews) – Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews has reintroduced mask mandates for greater Melbourne following the positive COVID-19 test of a hotel worker linked to the already-delayed Australian Open. Meanwhile, a former Victorian government employee has filed a complaint with the International Criminal Court damages the lockdowns caused to the Victorian people.

Six hundred casual contacts of the 26-year-old man, and 520 Australian Open tennis players, were asked to self-isolate and get tested, while all indoor gatherings in Melbourne have been reduced from 30 to 15.

The orders come just one day after the Victorian Labour Government launched a bid to extend its state of emergency powers until December 2021.

For that to happen a bill needs to pass through both houses of Parliament on March 15, when the current state of emergency expires.

If the bill passes, the powers will be extended in four-week blocks until December 15.

“The sorts of rules that the state of emergency underpins is the order for someone to isolate for 14 days, is the order that means hotel quarantine is mandatory, wearing face masks in certain setting[s],” Andrews said on February 2.

Andrews has received fierce criticism for his heavy-handed management of COVID-19, particularly during Melbourne’s second lockdown, which lasted from July to October of last year.

Banners and billboards reading “Sack Dan Andrews” and a satirical Twitter account of the same name have been the creative outlets of frustration for many Victorians who are fed up with the Premier’s abuse of power.

Known by detractors as “Dictator Dan,” Andrews, a baptized Catholic, is also notorious among the Australian pro-life community for ushering in an extreme abortion law back in 2008 when he was the Minister for Health.

Now a former employee of the Andrews Government is taking his criticism to the next level, submitting a complaint to the International Criminal Court (ICC) for damages caused to the Victorian people by Daniel Andrews and Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison from extensive lockdowns.

Sanjeev Sabhlock was an economist in the state treasury, but resigned after 15 years of service after being asked to remove social media posts critical of Victoria’s lockdowns, one of which accused Chief Health Officer Brett Sutton of “massively exaggerating and misleading the entire public and politicians.”

In an interview with Australian economics YouTube channel, In the Interests of the People, Sabhlock said that if submissions to the ICC are rejected it usually happens swiftly, but after two months his submission is still being reviewed.

Biden spox dismisses concerns over erasing girls’ sports: ‘trans rights are human rights’

LGBT activists claim it’s 'discriminatory' to reserve female competitive sports for actual females, but science confirms that 'trans women' (i.e., biological men) retain distinct physical advantages.

February 12, 2021 (LifeSiteNews) – The White House brushed off the concerns of parents of female athletes Tuesday over President Joe Biden’s executive order forcing women’s athletic programs, restrooms, and locker rooms to accept gender-confused males, instead reiterating the LGBT slogan “trans rights are human rights.”

Among Biden’s first actions upon taking office was signing an executive order declaring the “policy of my Administration to prevent and combat discrimination on the basis of gender identity or sexual orientation, and to fully enforce Title VII and other laws that prohibit discrimination on the basis of gender identity or sexual orientation,” citing the Supreme Court Bostock ruling’s claim that federal law’s prohibition on discrimination “because of … sex” extends to “discrimination on the basis of gender identity and sexual orientation.”

Because “children should be able to learn without worrying about whether they will be denied access to the restroom, the locker room, or school sports,” the order directs all agency heads to “review all existing orders, regulations, guidance documents, policies, programs, or other agency actions” to ensure they are in compliance with this new interpretation.

This week, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki was asked, “what message would the White House have for trans girls and cis girls who may end up competing against each other, sparking some lawsuits and some concern among parents?”

“I’m not sure what your question is,” Psaki responded.

“My question is, does the president have a message for local school officials on dealing with these kind of disputes that are already starting to rise between trans girls who are competing and cis girls and a level playing field, particularly in high school sports when it leads to college scholarships?” the reporter reiterated. “Is there any kind of messaging or clarification the White House wants to give on the executive order?

The term cis girl, which is used by people buying into gender ideology, refers to actual, biological girls.

“I would just say that the president’s belief is that trans rights are human rights, and that’s why he signed that executive order,” Psaki answered. “In terms of determinations by universities and colleges, I certainly defer to them.” She did not address concerns over biological males’ natural advantages over females in athletics.

The Biden order is expected to undo the Trump administration’s determination that Bostock does not mandate transgender inclusion in girls’ sports because the court “expressly declined to decide questions about how its interpretation of Title VII would affect” statutes beyond employment discrimination, and that Justice Neil Gorsuch’s majority opinion expressly stated that it “does not prejudge any such question” about “sex-segregated bathrooms, locker rooms, and dress codes.”

LGBT activists claim it’s “discriminatory” to reserve female competitive sports for actual females, but science confirms that “trans women” (i.e., biological men) retain distinct physical advantages through which they can deprive actual female athletes of recognition and scholarship opportunities intended to advance girls.

In a paper published by the Journal of Medical Ethics, New Zealand researchers found that “healthy young men [do] not lose significant muscle mass [or power] when their circulating testosterone levels were reduced to [below International Olympic Committee guidelines] for 20 weeks,” and “indirect effects of testosterone” on factors such as bone structure, lung volume, and heart size “will not be altered by hormone therapy”; therefore “the advantage to transwomen [biological men] afforded by the [International Olympic Committee] guidelines is an intolerable unfairness.”

LifeSiteNews currently has a 50-state VoterVoice campaign underway that calls upon state legislators across America to take action against Biden’s executive order and protect women’s and girls’ athletic programs.

February 12, 2021 (LifeSiteNews) — A new recommendation by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) implicitly acknowledges a high number of adverse effects associated with getting the experimental COVID-19 vaccines.

Alex Berenson, a former New York Times reporter and award-winning author who has often been featured on Fox News for his commentary on COVID-19 policy, tweeted yesterday, “So [the CDC] is now recommending ‘intubation kits’ at #Covid vaccine sites. Know why? Probably because the VAERS reports include many cases of anaphylactic shock following vaccinations so severe that intubation and ventilation was required. Nothing to see here, folks.”

Attached to the tweet were screen shots of two particular incidences of anaphylactic reactions obtained from the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) website. One described an individual who received the Moderna experimental vaccine and “within 2 minutes” had “blurry vision, facial hives, [and] tongue and lip swelling.” This person was taken to the emergency department “via EMS,” given multiple epi-pen injections, which were “inadequate,” and finally was “intubated for 2 days.”

According to the Mayo Clinic, “Anaphylaxis is a severe, potentially life-threatening allergic reaction. It can occur within seconds or minutes of exposure to something you’re allergic to … [It] causes your immune system to release a flood of chemicals that can cause you to go into shock — your blood pressure drops suddenly and your airways narrow, blocking breathing … If anaphylaxis isn’t treated right away, it can be fatal.”

As in the case reported by Berenson, the anaphylactic shock required “intubation,” which is a procedure used when a patient cannot breathe on his own. It involves a competent medical professional inserting a tube down the patient’s throat into their windpipe. The tube is attached to a ventilator for the purpose of assisting the patient with breathing.

Berenson also provided screen shots from the CDC website explaining the “recent changes” updated on Wednesday advising “that trained personnel qualified to recognize and treat symptoms of anaphylaxis should be available at vaccination locations at all times,” and that updated supplies should include, “if feasible,” an “intubation kit.”

The VAERS website is the primary tool in the U.S. for reporting adverse reactions to vaccines. Such reports are not necessarily confirmed, nor should it be presumed that all events are reported. A present search of COVID-19 experimental vaccines reveals a total of 12,640 adverse events, 1,374 hospitalizations, 602 deaths, and 267 anaphylactic reactions.

In early December, a former vice president and chief scientist for Pfizer, Dr. Michael Yeadon, along with another colleague, filed a petition for the immediate suspension of all COVID-19 vaccine studies in Europe, citing “significant safety concerns expressed by an increasing number of renowned scientists against the vaccine and the study design.” In their professional judgement, these dangers rendered even the vaccine’s testing on humans “unethical.”

They reasoned that “risks already known from previous studies, which partly originate from the nature of the corona viruses,” must be excluded by means of animal experiments prior to tests being performed on human beings.”

In addition to 1.) concerns over impacts on fertility, 2.) the risk that these injections may cause an increased vulnerability to the virus, and 3.) unacceptable dangers of long-term effects due to a lack of proper testing, their analysis included:

Allergic or even fatal reactions: “The mRNA vaccines from BioNTech/Pfizer contain polyethylene glycol (PEG). 70% of people develop antibodies against this substance — this means that many people can develop allergic, potentially fatal reactions to the vaccination.”

As COVID-19 remains less of a threat than influenza for those under 70, and very safe, effective and inexpensive treatments are available, many doctors strongly advise against the reception of these experimental biological agents, concluding that they are “not safer” than the virus itself.

February 12, 2021 (LifeSiteNews) — Fox News primetime commentator Tucker Carlson highlighted YouTube’s shutdown of LifeSiteNews’ channel on the world’s top video platform, calling it part of parent company Google’s opposition to the “distraction” of children.

This week, YouTube deleted LifeSite’s entire channel, including the entire library of videos published to it, effectively cutting off 300,000 followers’ access to this publication’s pro-life, pro-family content through that platform. The move was apparently in retaliation for a handful of recent videos about COVID-19 vaccines.

“Naturally, the Democratic Party is constructing a world designed to serve Jeff Bezos,” Carlson said during his Wednesday monologue. “You’re an afterthought in that world. If you get in the way, they will punish you. They already are punishing you. Your right to say and think what you want, to read and watch what you want, threatens them above all.”

“Why? Because if you have access to information, you can form your own judgments, judgments that are independent of theirs,” he continued. “A free internet is their enemy. The moment they took power they began a kind of counter-reformation against a free internet. They started the most sweeping mass censorship campaign in the history of this country. And it’s accelerating even now.”

“Yesterday, for example, Google pulled a pro-life news site off of YouTube,” Carlson went on. “Why’d they do that? Simple: Google supports abortion. A lot of big corporations do. It’s simple: Children distract the labor force. If you’re raising your family, you are not serving shareholders. Google doesn’t want to debate on those subjects, so they just shut the debate down. Hundreds of thousands of subscribers to LifeSiteNews will no longer be watching videos that question abortion, because they’re not allowed to.”

Analysis

ROME, Italy, February 12, 2021 (LifeSiteNews) ―Pope Francis has appointed four new ordinary members to the Pontifical Academy for life this Friday, at least three of whom raise serious questions as to the future development of the institution created by Pope John Paul II in 1993 for the implementation of Evangelium vitae and the culture of life. Active in the fields of bioethics and moral theology, artificial intelligence and robotics as well as public health and vaccines, the four nominees have clearly been chosen with an eye on contemporary issues ranging from birth control and gender ideology to the “fourth industrial revolution” and the response to the COVID-19 crisis.

Sister Margarita Bofarull i Buñuel, of the Society of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, a medical doctor and surgeon, teaches moral theology at the Faculty of theology of Catalunya (north-east of Spain) and in the Universidad Centroamericana “José Simeón Cañas” in El Salvador. She is also president of the Instituto Borja de Bioética of the Ramon Llull University in Barcelona – of which more later.

She was already a corresponding member, as was the second nominee to full membership, Paola Benanti, an Italian religious of the Third Order Regular of the Franciscans, specializing in moral theology, bioethics and neurotechnologies. He teaches at the Gregorian University in Rome.

Professor Gualtiero Walter Ricciardi directs the Department of Sciences of Women’s, Children’s, and Public Health at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart, in Italy, but he was also a prominent scientific counsellor of the Italian government at the height of the COVID-19 crisis in the spring of 2020, and Italy’s representative on the Executive Committee of the World Health Organization (WHO). In April, he made headlines in Italy because of an aggressive tweet against Donald Trump, illustrated by a video showing a number of people punching a puppet of the then U.S. president.

Lastly, Professor Maria Chiara Carrozza is a professor of Industrial Engineering at Biorobotics Institute at the Normal School of Pisa, in Italy. She is especially active in the field of rehabilitation robotics for amputees, wearable exoskeletons and “human-machine symbiosis.” She is also a politician, a member of the center-left Democratic Party (affiliated with the European Socialist Party at the European Parliament); she was the minister for instruction, universities and research in the Letta government in 2013-2014.

Archbishop Vincenzo Paglia (who features in a homoerotic mural painting he commissioned for his cathedral in Terni), the controversial president of the Pontifical Academy for Life appointed in 2017, and its chancellor, Msgr. Renzo Pegoraro, issued the following statement for the occasion:

The new appointments of four Ordinary Academicians represent an important event for the entire Pontifical Academy for Life. Our commitment deepens, following the guidelines indicated by Pope Francis in the speeches he addressed to the Pontifical Academy for Life in recent years and in the definition of the ‘strategic’ objectives of work and study, contained in the 2019 Letter Humana Communitas.

“With Prof. Margarita Bofarull, former Correspondent Academician, reflection in the fields of moral theology and bioethics is strengthened. With Prof. Father Paolo Benanti, former Correspondent Academician and now Ordinary Academician, and with Prof. Maria Chiara Carrozza, the Academy acquires new skills on the topics of technologies and their implications in the ethical and health fields. With the appointment of Prof. Walter Ricciardi, the Pontifical Academy for Life is preparing itself for the next Assembly on the theme of public health in a global perspective in September. That is a topic of great importance both at a social and health level, and for that inescapable ethical reflection in the face of a world changed by Covid19, of women and men in search of meaning and hope for their lives.

On behalf of all the Academicians, we express heartfelt thanks to Pope Francis for the attention with which he looks at our work. And we reaffirm the commitment to bring that gospel-based prophetic inspiration and vocation to our world, in order to show the way for a new time.

The operative words are “public health in a global perspective.” One of the main features of the COVID-19 crisis has shown itself to be a push for global governance regarding health issues, with a largely similar approach in managing the Wuhan virus: lockdowns, obstruction to early treatment in many developed countries and focus on innovating genetically manipulated and manipulating mRNA “vaccines” – a focus which is problematic even apart from the point of view of patient safety because of the involvement of abortion-tainted fetal cells in their development or testing.

Gualtiero Walter Riccialdi stands out in this field for having said during the first months of the COVID-19 crisis that the only way out was “the vaccine,” with lockdowns and social distancing being presented as necessary as long as the Italian population would not have widely received the shot.

It was Riccialdi who went on record on the public television station RAI Uno on March 8th of last year, in his capacity of Italian representative at the WHO and ministerial advisor, as the man who asked for public Masses to be banned throughout the country. He stated: “Religious ceremonies of any kind cannot be held.” The Italian Bishops’ Conference willingly submitted to the rule, adding even more suffering during the lockdown that lasted into May, with funerals banned even in the regions where COVID was practically absent.

Later, in April, Ricciardi repeated that COVID measures must be implemented in liturgical areas as well as in all others, especially in the hardest hit areas. He stated: “I advise the elderly to continue to follow Mass on TV, to avoid any risk. I repeat: these are universal precautions, which we will have to get used to in all life situations, at least until a vaccine is available: that is 12-18 months. Life is at stake.”

At the time, Italian doctors had been formally instructed not to perform autopsies on COVID-19 victims and treatment was given that actually worsened their condition, until doctors took things into their own hands.

Ricciardi rose to prominence in 2017 as the president of the Italian Superior Health Institute and as an active proponent of the National Plan for Vaccines, playing a leading role in the law which imposed ten compulsory vaccines for newborns.

At the beginning of 2020 – before the COVID-19 pandemic erupted in Italy – the Swiss anti-vaccine association Corvelva published an article underscoring the public health specialist’s “conflicts of interest,” as listed in his personal declaration to the European Commission on March 28, 2013, in view of a European mission.

These include Novartis for the MenB vaccine, GlaxoSmithKline, Pfizer, Sanofi Pasteur for Gardasil (the HPV vaccine), and others, for whom he acted in a consulting and advisory capacity regarding the assessment of the impact of their vaccines on health. It was he, according to the MEP Massimo Baroni, who proposed to create a National Center for the Assessment of Health Technologies in Italy whose objectives, said Baroni, “seem, curiously, to coincide with those of GlaxoSmithKline in the ViHTA program” which that pharmaceutical company funded in Italy.

To put it briefly, a prominent vaccine pusher is now a full member of the Pontifical Academy for Life.

No less controversial is the figure of Sister Margarita Bofarull i Buñuel, as suggested at the beginning of this story.

When she became a corresponding member of the Pontifical Academy for life at the close of 2013, nominated by its then president Msgr. Ignacio Carrasco de Paula, a number of Hispanic pro-lifers pointed out that she was the president of the “pro-abortion, pro-euthanasia and pro-eugenist Instituto Borga de Bioética” founded by the Jesuit Father Francesc Abel i Fabre, who had a formative role for Sister Margarita.

Publications of the Institute available online show that this to be true: its publication Bioètica & Debat, whose editorial board is now headed by Bofarull, includes texts saying that contraception, legal abortion in some cases and morning-after pills that prevent implantation of the human embryo in the womb before it has full human status can be allowed, if only out of empathy for the woman. Surely, some of these were published before Sister Margarita replaced Abel i Fabre (to whom she devoted an admiring biography), but she endorses them all by appearing at the head of the editorial board on the webpage where they are available.

In 2015, Fr. Custodio Ballester of the Catholic blog Adelante la Fé noted that Bofarull has always been careful in her public statements, letting her underlings at the Institute “carry out the task of demolishing Catholic morals.” But Fr. Ballester highlights some quotes that do show what Bofarull thinks, such as her saying: “Abortion is not a woman's right, it is another thing that it should be legally regulated, but not as a right, that is another matter.” The Borja Institute, Fr. Ballester recalled, gave a helping hand to the socialist government when it decided to legalize abortion.

Shortly after her nomination to the PAL, in January 2014, the Spanish “priests for life” had already criticized Bofarull in a statement published by the Germinans Germinabit blog. It recalled that she also had organized a conference on euthanasia for the Saint John of God hospital of Esplugues, Catalunya which had to be transferred to a local hotel because of the outcry against its pro-euthanasia bias.

Fr. Ballester, who authored the statement, quoted at length from the pro-abortion publications of Bioètica & Debat, and also cited Professor Josef Seifert who in 2012, wrote an open letter in which he spoke of his concern at the PAL’s growing lack of commitment to the truth and respect for human life.

Before Sister Margarita’s nomination to the PAL, in April 2013, ACI Prensa (the Hispanic sister agency to Catholic News Agency), published a story criticizing the financial support given to the Borja Institute of which she was already the president, quoting its support for abortion, in particular for victims of rape, and its support for “a possible depenalization of euthanasia” as early as 2005.

Sister Bofarull herself published a book at the Centro Monseñor Romero, El Salvador, in 2014, under the title Una sexualidad liberadora (“A Liberating Sexuality”), co-written with Cristián Barría Iroumé, a medical psychiatrist. The nun devoted her part of the booklet to a biblical view of sexuality, showing that sex can be used by men to dominate women and pleading for a new approach that would not submit one to the other at all.

Her co-author, Barría Iroumé, followed up with a reflection on modern contraception, slamming the traditional approach of Humanae vitae that Catholics, he said, don’t follow anyway. His contribution concluded that Church teachings should evolve in these matters.

It was not Bofarull who made these statements, for sure. But she did accept to “cohabit” with Barría under one title and between the same book covers. It can at least be said that she did not disapprove.

Nationwide campaign calls for legislative action against Big Tech censorship, cancel culture

CONTACT YOUR STATE REP: Defend Free Speech from Big Tech!  Click to contact your state lawmakers, now.

February 12, 2021 (LifeSiteNews) — LifeSite has launched a new campaign calling upon state lawmakers across America to introduce legislation that regulates Big Tech’s unchecked power and protects the citizens of their states from unfair targeting, censorship, and cancel culture.

With Big Tech’s premeditated, ongoing purge of conservative, libertarian, and Christian voices from their monopolistic platforms now in full-swing, it was only natural that LifeSite would inevitably fall victim to its censorship sooner or later.

And indeed, it was sooner: Just Wednesday, YouTube, the multi-billion-dollar video platform and Google subsidiary, permanently removed LifeSite’s channel, which had more than 300,000 subscribers and 2,000 videos, providing neither warning nor explanation.

And while LifeSite is merely the latest entry in a long list of Big Tech’s targets for cancelation, it’s now abundantly clear that these companies’ sole mission is to stifle free speech and silence any individual or organization that expresses beliefs, ideas, and values counter to what they’ve deemed “socially acceptable.”

With the new federal government all-but-complicit in this agenda, the only path forward in fighting back against Big Tech tyranny is for state governments to take an active role in safeguarding the First Amendment rights of their people.

Thankfully, there is already one shining example of a state government willing to take on Big Tech.

Florida has already asserted itself as the nation’s foremost leader on this front, with Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) introducing a new set of regulations to curb Big Tech’s power over Floridians who use their platforms.

These reforms would require mandatory opt-outs from platforms’ content filters; daily fines to be levied against companies that suspend accounts belonging to candidates for office; and various increased transparency measures, including compulsory disclosures stating companies’ political/candidate preferences.

These policies are neither unreasonable nor restrictive; rather, they are essential for people in all 50 states to maintain and exercise their God-given, constitutionally-guaranteed right to speak up, speak out, and, most importantly, be heard.

LifeSite’s campaign encourages all states to follow Florida’s lead as millions of Americans face unprecedented attacks on this most basic of individual liberties.

Big Tech has become the authoritarian left’s most valuable ally outside of government, and their dystopian-style silencing of millions of American voices can only expand in size and scope if we don’t act now.

It’s 2021, not “1984.” Yet even so, these times demand prompt legislative reaffirmation of our rights, or there will be nothing left to reaffirm at all.

Join LifeSiteNews’ campaign to defend free speech against Big Tech cancel culture, and protect all Americans from unprecedented infringement upon their First Amendment rights HERE.

CONTACT YOUR SENATOR: Oppose attempts to expand euthanasia in Canada! Click to contact your senator, now.

OTTAWA, Ontario, February 12, 2021 (LifeSiteNews) – Canada passed a law in 2016 that allowed doctors to kill sick patients, usually by lethal injection, according to a practice euphemistically called Medical Aid in Dying (MAiD). There were various restrictions and limitations called “safeguards” on who would be eligible to die. Justin Trudeau’s Bill C-7 would vastly expand the categories of who is eligible to die. The bill is now being debated by the Senate where it is scheduled for a final vote on Feb. 17.

If the Liberal government’s Bill C-7 passes, it would expand euthanasia in the following ways:

  • Remove the requirement currently in the law that a person’s “natural death be reasonably foreseeable.” This would allow people who are not terminally ill to choose to die by euthanasia.
  • Permit a doctor or nurse practitioner to lethally inject a person who, at the time, is incapable of consenting as long as that person was previously approved for assisted death.
  • Waive the ten-day waiting period if a person's natural death is deemed to be reasonably foreseeable.

LifeSiteNews has launched a campaign on the Voter Voice platform where Canadians can easily contact their senators with a few clicks of the mouse to ask them to reject the bill. Click here to view the campaign.

“Canadian medical practitioners have both a moral and professional obligation to provide life-saving services to patients across the country, so it goes without saying that assisting in any practice(s) that bring about death rather than life should never be on the table,” states the campaign.

“Now is the time to ensure your voice is heard in defense of life and in opposition to the Liberal government's efforts to further expand medical assistance in dying (MAiD),” the campaign adds.

“That’s why it’s so important that you contact your Senator and call on him or her to reject Bill C-7, which would expand MAiD access to individuals who are NOT facing imminent or “reasonably foreseeable” death due to a medical condition, disease, or ailment.”

The campaign asks senators to “reject Bill C-7 and stop euthanasia expansion in Canada.”

“Medical assistance in dying is already perpetrating a culture of death in Canada, and Bill C-7 will only make this dangerous trend worse,” a message to the Senators reads.

The campaign points out that MAiD laws are “already normalizing a culture of death rather than life in Canada and in nations all over the world.”

“We are already on a slippery slope with regards to euthanasia as it is, but if Bill C-7 becomes law, rest assured that Canada will continue to spiral downward on the issue of life and how our government (and future generations) will measure its value.”

“Please take a few minutes to contact your Senator and request that they oppose Bill C-7.” Click here to view the campaign.

UNITED STATES, February 12, 2021 (LifeSiteNews) – In what might be best described as textbook propaganda, the entertainment industry has teamed up with a federal health agency to create an ad aimed at kids where heroes such as Harry Potter, Wonder Woman, and the Hobbits are seen in memorable moments from their films, but all wearing masks. The ad aims at driving home the highly disputed claim that masks stop COVID-19’s spread.

The 30-second Public Service Announcement, created by WarnerMedia in partnership with the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Ad Council, shows famous clips from the movies, but with the difference that all the heroes along with the villains are wearing face masks.

Neo from The Matrix is seen bending backward dodging a bullet while wearing a mask. Harry Potter and Lord Voldemort are seen during the final battle, both wearing masks. Hobbits Frodo and Sam along with Merry and Pippin from The Lord of the Rings are seen drawing their swords, all four of them wearing masks. Wonder Woman is seen destroying her enemies while wearing a mask.

Even Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman from “Casablanca” are seen wearing masks at the moment when Bogart says the famous lines, ‘Here’s looking at you, kid.” The ad even features the bad guys donning masks, such as Pennywise from “It” and the Joker who has a mask that matches his costume.

The following text appears interspersed between clips of the famous movie characters: “Let’s get back to doing our favorite things, whatever that might be. Slow the spread. Mask up America.”

The ad is part of Ad Council’s “Mask Up America” campaign that began last July in partnership with New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, reported Ad Age. The campaign’s ads have generated over 154 million impressions across TV, digital and social media.

Dennis Williams, senior VP of corporate social responsibility at WarnerMedia, said that the media company is “proud to help educate and inform our fans about the importance of mask wearing during this pandemic.”

“Wearing a mask is an effective way to protect ourselves and our loved-ones from COVID-19. We hope that by seeing some of our favorite heroes and characters masked up, our fans will follow suit. Mask wearing is a simple step we all can take to show up and support our communities during this difficult time,” he said.

While the CDC claims that wearing a mask during the COVID outbreak “helps reduce the risk of spread both by close contact and by airborne transmission,” scientific studies, doctors, and real-world data says otherwise. The following resources make the case that masks are ineffective in stopping the spread of COVID:

In the early days of the coronavirus outbreak, the U.S. Surgeon General Jerome Adams counseled against wearing masks as did White House COVID adviser Dr. Anthony Fauci, all claiming that masks were not effective in preventing the general public from stopping the spread of COVID-19. "Seriously people—STOP BUYING MASKS!" Surgeon General Adams tweeted last February. "They are NOT effective in preventing [the] general public from catching #Coronavirus.” In a similar vein, Fauci told CBSNews’ 60 Minutes in a March 8 interview that “there's no reason to be walking around with a mask” because they don’t provide the kind of protection against COVID-19 that people think they do, adding that they only make people “feel” safe.

Implementing a “nationwide mask mandate” has been one of Biden’s campaign promises. Last December, Biden said he would require Americans to wear a mask for 100 days when he assumed office, calling it a “patriotic act.”

“On day one, I’ll sign an executive order to require masks everywhere I can,” he said on Dec. 9. True to his promise, on Jan. 20, Biden signed an executive order that all Federal employees must wear masks while in Federal buildings and on Federal lands.

On Feb. 2, the CDC made it a federal crime to board “planes, buses, trains, and other forms of public transportation” without wearing a mask.

Australian Christians say they’ll defy ban on prayer for overcoming unwanted sexual attractions

'Given that Christians are the main group being targeted here, we need to be aware of what is really going on. We either commit to standing for Christ… or we renounce our faith altogether and admit it was all just a charade. We must choose now.'

VICTORIA, Australia, February 12, 2021 (LifeSiteNews) – Christian leaders are poised to resist Victoria’s controversial Change or Suppression (Conversion) Practices Prohibition bill, which threatens parents with up to 10 years in prison if they don’t affirm their kids’ sexual confusion and bans “carrying out a religious practice, including but not limited to, a prayer-based practice, a deliverance practice or an exorcism” to help someone overcome unwanted sexual attractions.

The Presbyterian Church of Australia has been the first to raise its voice following the bill’s passage through the Victorian Upper House, with its Moderator Rev. Dr. Peter Barnes urging his ministers to remain faithful to scripture on all matters of sexual morality, including homosexuality and transgenderism.

“The Change or Suppression (Conversion) Practices Prohibition Bill has now passed through both houses of the Victorian parliament. It forbids any attempt to change or suppress, or induce any person to change or suppress, his or her sexual orientation or gender identity. Prayer or counselling designed to change a person, even at that person’s request, is prohibited. In short, this means that sexual preference is protected by law, as is any person’s gender preference. Homosexual sex is not permitted to be called ‘sin’, and a male today can claim to be a female tomorrow,” Barnes said.

In his regular column for the Spectator Australia, fellow Presbyterian Minister Mark Powell doubled down on his superior’s statement.

“Significantly, the Victorian legislation makes it illegal for a parent to pray for their own child, even if they had requested them to do so. As such, Dr Barnes believes that it is right for Christians to defy the governing authority such as, ‘When King Darius exceeded his God-given authority, Daniel did ‘as he had done previously’ (Dan.6:10),” Powell wrote.

Powell also warned his readers of a push for similar legislation to be passed in his home state of New South Wales.

Author Bill Muehlenberg exhorted Christians to stand up for Christ “regardless of the dire consequences” on his popular blog, CultureWatch.

“Will this finally be the wakeup call we all need? Guess what folks? The time for playing games is now over. Given that Christians are the main group being targeted here, we need to be aware of what is really going on. We either commit to standing for Christ… or we renounce our faith altogether and admit it was all just a charade. We must choose now,” Muehlenberg wrote.

Prior to the bill’s passage, Catholic Archbishop of Melbourne Peter Comensoli urged Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews, a baptized Catholic, to halt the bill in a joint statement with local faith leaders: “[T]he State has no interest in how I pray, who I pray to, and what I pray for. I warmly welcome any legislation to protect people from harm, but sadly this Bill does a whole lot of other things as well, and we have to be forthright and clear, as well as charitable.”

“We are praying for a constructive way forward to open up with all members of the Victorian Parliament,” they wrote.

LONDON, England, February 12, 2021 (LifeSiteNews)— The CEO of the British Christian legal organization that fought to save the life of a Polish Catholic has thanked LifeSiteNews readers for their generous donations.

RS, the Polish man at the heart of the battle, died in an English National Health Service hospital on January 26, 2021 after being deprived of nutrition and most hydration for 13 days.

As LifeSiteNews led the media in reporting on the RS right-to-life case, a decision was made to raise funds for the Christian Legal Centre, the organization helping RS’s birth family. Generous LifeSiteNews readers raised over £25,700 (approx. $35, 469 USD). Andrea Minichiello Williams, the chief executive officer of the legal organization has now sent thanks, via a video.

“I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for the way in which supporters and readers of LifeSiteNews got behind us at the Christian Legal Centre as during December through Christmas—indeed, even on Christmas Day—through New Year, even on New Year’s Day, we were working day and night to try and secure life and justice and hope for RS.”

Williams explained that RS’s birth family, comprised of his mother, his sisters, and his nieces, had done all they could to save him from de facto passive euthanasia. When they ran out of money in the legal fight, they turned to Christian Legal Centre. The pro bono organization took the case, even though it looked like an expensive proposition.

“The reality is this: these cases are very hard, they’re very complex, they need specialist lawyers," Williams said in her video.

“There was much of the work that we had to outsource to specialist lawyers,” she continued.

“The truth is, the costs for us come in now at around £100,000 [$138,078].”

Williams praised the £25,000+ donation as “exceptional” but is also in favour of the fundraising getting closer to LifeSiteNews’ target of £50,000 target.

“We press on; we never count the costs. We do this by faith, knowing that together with God’s people there will […] always be a way through,” she said.

“So thank you for standing with us. We truly appreciate you.”

LifeSiteNews offered extensive coverage of the RS case. RS, a night-shift worker who shouldered the entire financial burden of daily life for his wife and children, suffered a heart attack at his home in southwest England in early November and fell into a coma. He was discovered to have extensive brain damage, and his doctors predicted that he had only a small chance of improving to a minimally conscious state. At the same time, they believed that with continued hydration and nutrition, he might live for over five more years.

Therefore, supported by RS’s wife, the University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust went to court to request permission to cease “treating” the patient, which meant removing clinically assisted nutrition and hydration (CANH). They were vigorously opposed by RS’s mother, sisters, and niece, who argued that as a pro-life, anti-euthanasia, church-attending Catholic, RS would not want to die this way. When the Court of Protection’s Mr Justice Cohen sided with the NHS on December 15, RS’s birth family took their fight to the U.K. Court of Appeal, to the European Court of Human Rights, and finally to the Polish Government.

In a dramatic and unprecedented attempt to save the life of the Polish citizen, the Polish Government issued him a diplomatic passport and prepared to bring him back to Poland for treatment. Unfortunately, the process stalled, and RS died shortly thereafter.

One of the blocks to bringing wider public attention in the English-speaking world to the RS case was a court-ordered publication ban called a “Transparency Order.” This prevented the publication of the names of the patient, any of his family members, his doctors, and the hospital in which he was refused the “medical care” of hydration and nutrition. Because the patient could not be named, his plight went largely unremarked by the British press. The Polish press, however, ignored the ban to a certain extent—providing readers with RS’s Christian name, the names of his sisters and the name of his English hospital—and the case became a cause célèbre in the patient’s native Poland. It also touched hearts in Italy, as can be seen in this musical tribute to RS

Those wishing to contribute towards covering the cost of the legal expenses incurred in fighting to save RS’ life can do so here.

DES MOINES, Iowa, February 12, 2021 (LifeSiteNews) — Iowa’s Republican Governor Kim Reynolds has lifted the state’s mandate on masks, physical distancing and size limits on gatherings, urging people to make their own decisions about wearing masks and attending gatherings, and to take “reasonable” measures to maintain public health

In a new proclamation signed February 5, and effective February 7, Reynolds allowed people the freedom to take health precautions if they wish to, but without the previous mandates, including enforced physical distancing and mask wearing.

Instead, Reynolds wrote merely to “strongly encourage all vulnerable Iowans, including those with pre-existing medical conditions and those older than 65,” to limit their activities and participation in large gatherings.

The previous proclamation, issued in November, prohibited gatherings of more than 25 people indoors or 100 outdoors, unless all attendees older than two wore a mask, and additionally decreed that a distance of six feet be maintained between individuals or groups in businesses, restaurants, and gyms, as well as other indoor settings.

Reynolds’s latest document does away with such mandates, simply encouraging organizers of gatherings to take “reasonable measures” to safeguard public health.

In place of the previous orders around businesses, Reynolds now writes: “I strongly encourage that all businesses or other employers remaining open with in-person operations, take reasonable measures under the circumstances of each establishment to ensure the health of employees, patrons and members of the public, including social distancing practices, increased hygiene practices, and other public health measures to reduce the risk of transmission of COVID-19 consistent with guidance issued by the Iowa Department of Public Health.”

The governor did not make adherence to “reasonable measures” a requisite for opening businesses. “This section shall not be a basis for closing or taking other enforcement action against a business or other employer absent an additional specific order or directive of the Iowa Department of Public Health,” the proclamation continued.

Her removal of the various restrictions comes shortly after Reynolds signed into law a bill which allowed parents to send their children back to school full time, after schools had been operating a mixture of online and in-person sessions due to COVID restrictions.

Reynolds has faced much backlash from left-wing media in the face of lifting the restrictions. Iowa’s Public Health Association has also attacked the governor, calling her actions “actively detrimental to our pursuit to end the pandemic.”

In a recent video clip shared online, she defended her decision, saying, “Iowans know how to be safe and responsible; our businesses know how to responsibly take care of their customers, and because we remained open and had our economy open, we’re really coming out of COVID in a very strong position.”

In comments made to the Des Moines Register, Iowa Restaurant Association chief Jessica Dunker praised the governor’s actions. The easing of restrictions “may well give us the lift we need to be able to see this thing to the other side,” Dunker said. “Quite frankly, it allows us to go back to doing business at a really critical time.”

Democrat politicians in the state have chosen to ignore Reynolds’s proclamation. They continue to enforce COVID-related measures, such as mask wearing and physical distancing.

Iowa City Democrat Mayor Bruce Teague said that the city’s mask order was still “not impacted” by Reynolds’s latest proclamation, and that “[r]esidents should continue to wear masks in all public spaces within Iowa City in accordance with the City’s order.” Masks are mandated until May 31 in the city.

Des Moines, Iowa’s capital, followed suit, with Democrat Mayor Frank Cownie stating that masks would continue to be required in line with the city’s current restrictions. He called the governor’s decision “confusing,” claiming that it couldn’t “be rationalized with the number of positive cases we continue to see across the state and here in Polk County.”

North Liberty and Coralville have also decided to continue to require masks.

In contrast to the Democrat politician’s reliance upon masks, numerous physicians have warned that masks do not have an effect in preventing the spread of COVID-19. America’s Frontline Doctors (AFLD) have called for the use of reason in understanding the effect which masks have in preventing a virus which is “1/1000 the size of a hair.”

Dr. Simone Gold of AFLD declared that masks were “completely irrelevant to blocking” COVID-19. She warned that masks had become a political talisman, saying that if people researched themselves, they would “discover that prior to masks becoming political in March 2020, there was never even an attempt at a pretense that masks, let alone bandanas, stop a virus. It’s a complete fabrication. A virus is 1/1000 the size of a hair.”

In November, a Danish peer reviewed study found that there was no “statistically significant” difference in cases of the virus, between those who wore masks, and those who did not.

Recently, videos have been released clearly demonstrating the manner in which vapor can easily pass through the layers of a mask. Masks lead to a “false sense of security,” said Chad Roy in the video.

BUCKEYE, Arizona, February 12, 2021 (LifeSiteNews) – A Catholic parish priest in Arizona delivered a blistering homily against abortion to his parishioners on Sunday, telling them “if you are pro-abortion, I am tempted to ask you to leave St. Henry parish. Leave this parish.”

After a brief disclaimer about the gruesome nature of some of what he was about to say in his homily, Father William Kosko, Pastor of St. Henry’s Parish, Buckeye, AZ, launched into a story about a time when he was with the U.S. Peace Corps, attending a conference in Krakow, Poland.

Being in Krakow, they were only around 47 miles from Auschwitz, the Nazi concentration camp. Accordingly, the group made the two-hour excursion to the infamous extermination camp, to visit the museum and see what remained of the camp itself.

Upon witnessing the horrific history of the camp, Kosko explained that the group were unable to fathom how people in the neighboring town of Auschwitz, who undoubtedly knew what was happening just a few miles away, could tolerate such proximate evil.

“They say that one July it snowed there in that town, that snow fell from the sky. But it wasn't snow, it was the ashes from the crematoriums that were working overtime burning the bodies of the murdered dead.”

“How could people have tolerated this who knew about it?” “Surely they saw the train boxcars going in with people on them and the people not coming back.”

“Brothers and sisters,” he continued, “it's thirty years later and it's still snowing outside. It's snowing with the ashes of the innocent unborn.”

Kosko emphasized that “more of them [preborn babies] are being killed every year in the United States of America than the death camp of Auschwitz killed in its entire five-year history. Every year, after year, after year.”

Despite this, “we've just elected a Catholic president who is diametrically opposed to all of the basic moral principles proclaimed by the Roman Catholic Church. Not only abortion and the sanctity of human life, but the sanctity of marriage and this gender silliness.”

Given that Biden claims to be a Catholic, Kosko blames the U.S. bishops for his political successes as well as the advance of the pro-abortion cause, since those bishops “have been silent for 60 years through bad catechesis and cowardice.” Except for “a few papers here and there,” they have done little to halt the current situation of nearly 1 million babies being killed through abortion each year.

Kosko compared his anger at this situation with Jesus in the temple: “He didn't hate those people, but He was outraged with a sense of righteous anger.”

Explaining what his righteous anger must motivate, he said “I have to stand up for this, Jesus had to stand up for His Father's dignity, so He wanted a clean house and I have this righteous anger … I'll probably get my butt kicked but it's the right thing to do.”

“Woe to me if I don't preach the Gospel.”

Kosko addressed pro-abortion Catholics directly, asking how they could possibly reconcile their position with the Faith. “This is the Catholic Church, the Holy Catholic Church of God that teaches this [total opposition to abortion]. What parish would accept your views?”

“Sadly, you would find one and that is an indictment against the bishops,” Kosko lamented.

Kosko promised that if Biden were ever to attend Mass at his parish, he would refuse him Holy Communion. “Over my dead body. Not until he repents; he's a public figure, he needs to publicly repent and we need to pray for his conversion.”

The firmly anti-abortion priest compared the predicament of pastors who are trying to preach pro-life ethics to pro-abortion Catholics with a “university professor of literature who wants to teach you about Leo Tolstoy's War and Peace, or Dostoevsky's Crime and Punishment, or any other great literature, but about half the class doesn't even know how to read or write.”

“How in the world can I teach you about the beauty and the truths that lay hidden within Shakespeare when you can't even read it?”

Decrying the futility of such a pursuit, Kosko clarified that the teacher must “go back to kindergarten in first grade to start all over,” before explaining that “it's the same thing with this issue on life.”

Kosko instructed the faithful that the basic ethic of life is that “God's the author of life, we have no right to mess with that life, to play with it, let alone end it because of some reason under the sun that it just doesn't fit us.”

Knowing God exists and that life is everlasting is not enough for Catholics, Kosko said, since even “Lucifer can stand up here and say, because he does, he believes that there is one God.”

“He knows that. He can say almost the entire creed with us, so big deal that you can say it. Not impressed.”

In a final cri de cœur, the priest begged the congregation to “just say yeah, life is sacred.”

“If we could just believe that,” Kosko remarked, then he believes we would be some way towards ending abortion, “but we got to believe that first.”

CDC sprays mannequins to ‘prove’ Americans should wear 2 masks at a time

The Centers for Disease Control's 'simulated breathing experiment' earned ridicule for a lack of scientific rigor.

February 12, 2021 (LifeSiteNews) — The U.S. Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) has formally endorsed the practice of “double-masking” to guard against COVID-19, a proposal popularized in recent weeks by pundits, news anchors, and controversial government adviser Dr. Anthony Fauci.

A “simulated breathing experiment” shows that surgical masks on their own block 42% of COVID-19 particles for the wearer, and cloth masks block about 44% of particles,” claims the report, published for the CDC’s Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report. “Wearing a cloth mask over a surgical mask increased protection for the person wearing the masks, blocking 83% of small particles.”

The report says that two people both wearing a cloth mask over a surgical mask reduces exposure to particles carrying the novel coronavirus by more than 95%, a result also achieved by knotting a surgical mask tightly enough that it is flush with the wearer’s face.

“The data in this report underscore the finding that good fit can increase overall mask efficiency,” the report adds. “Multiple simple ways to improve fit have been demonstrated to be effective.”

Last month, LifeSiteNews covered a CNBC segment in which anchor Shepard Smith and colleague Contessa Brewer agree that, in Smith’s words, “it’s time to double up and wear two,” with Brewer going so far as to suggest wearing three at a time. The segment also quoted Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, as agreeing that “if you have a physical covering with one layer, you put another layer on, it just makes common sense that it likely would be more effective.”

Conservative journalist Jordan Schachtel panned the latest study as “nothing more than a handful of experiments on mannequins in a contained environment[.] … The CDC sprayed aerosols at mannequins and slapped a science™ label on their experiments.”

“A proper study on the efficacy of masks needs to be a randomized controlled trial involving human beings in their normal settings — such as the Danish mask study that showed there is no evidence that masks do anything to prevent COVID-19 — and not mannequins in a laboratory,” he continued.

Schachtel further noted the CDC’s own footnote, which acknowledges that “double masking might impede breathing or obstruct peripheral vision for some wearers, and knotting and tucking can change the shape of the mask such that it no longer covers fully both the nose and the mouth of persons with larger faces.”

In the early days of the coronavirus outbreak, the CDC and U.S. surgeon general Jerome Adams counseled against wearing masks, as did Fauci, who told CBS last year that “wearing a mask might make people feel a little bit better and it might even block a droplet, but it’s not providing the perfect protection that people think that it is. And, often, there are unintended consequences — people keep fiddling with the mask and they keep touching their face.” (The public later learned health officials actually wanted to discourage the general public from buying masks to conserve the supply for health workers.)

Despite the popular insistence that masking is essential outside one’s home, there remain reasons to doubt their effectiveness, such as the CDC’s September acknowledgment that masks cannot be counted on to keep out the coronavirus when spending 15 minutes or longer within six feet of someone, or a May 2020 study published by CDC’s peer-reviewed journal Emerging Infectious Diseases that “did not find evidence that surgical-type face masks are effective in reducing laboratory-confirmed influenza transmission, either when worn by infected persons (source control) or by persons in the general community to reduce their susceptibility.”

Planned Parenthood giving kids ‘transgender’ hormone drugs with your tax money

Planned Parenthood is not only the largest killer of unborn babies in America; it's also the second largest provider of 'gender affirming hormone care.'

February 12, 2021 (Family Research Council) — They come with other girls, a woman inside the clinic explains, giggling like they're at the mall. Only they aren't at the mall. They're shopping for another gender. And Planned Parenthood is more than willing to oblige.

It started in 2016, when then-President Cecile Richards — fresh off of the baby body parts scandal — decided the organization needed to make money another way. This time, the group announced, it was getting into the transgender treatment business, announcing that the nation's largest abortion network wasn't just content destroying lives — it wanted to ruin the younger ones too. "We're expanding access to care — from pioneering research on self-injectable birth control to offering new services for our transgender patients," Richards wrote in the intro of the organization's annual report.

What she didn't say is that surgical abortions across the U.S. were dropping, and Planned Parenthood was looking for ways to make up the shortfall. Five years later, they've done that — and more. According to Abigail Shrier, the group that already enjoys more than a half-billion of your hard-earned tax dollars a year has gone from 26 clinics that offer testosterone to an astonishing 210. Believe it or not, Planned Parenthood is not only the largest killer of unborn babies in America; it's also the second largest provider of "gender affirming hormone care." And employees on the inside are having a hard time watching the consequences.

One, a whistleblower in a small town of 30,000, says her office saw one to two new biologically female teen patients looking for hormone treatments every day. According to her, "the girls would often arrive to the clinic with a group of friends," Shrier wrote. "It smacked more of the gleeful trips teen girls once took to the mall for ear piercings than the sober medical treatment of a genuine mental health disorder." When Abigail asked her what the mood in the waiting room was for these friends, the worker replied, "Super cheerful... [like it was] a fun thing."

But it was far less enjoyable for staff, who struggled to watch as Planned Parenthood helped these teenagers on the path to self-destruction. "I'll tell you," the woman admitted, "I struggled with the morality and reconciling of our actions in giving these kids testosterone and estrogen and stuff. I struggled with that more than I did being in operating room for like a 20-week abortion." Asked if other staff members felt the same and worried about what the organization was pushing, she replied soberly, "Yeah. Every Day."

Making matters worse, "There were no doctors at the clinic where she worked. Nurse practitioners were the professionals with the highest medical training, she said. The clinic employed a gender counselor who had ‘no actual professional credentials or formal training other than'" identifying as a transgender himself. The "clinic manager" — who wrote the prescriptions that could harm these teenagers for life — spent her last job "managing a Wendy's." In fact, the whistleblower explained, she had no medical experience whatsoever. That hasn't mattered at Planned Parenthood headquarters, who sees these kids as nothing but "cash cows."

And unlike abortion, they become lifetime patients, "kept on the hook for the foreseeable future for follow-up appointments, bloodwork, [drugs], and meetings..." In other words, this is one lucrative service — and Planned Parenthood is never going to let caution or patient safety get in the organization's way. And worse, these irreversible treatments are being funded by people like you and me. Americans who would never consent to these devastating life choices are bankrolling these gender factories in at least 38 states. "Gender Affirming Care," as they call it, is a state-by-state policy — but most Medicaid programs use taxpayer dollars to fund it. As of 2019, only 12 states specifically banned this type of coverage. The other 38 either explicitly cover it or default to covering it.

And if you think these profit-first radicals are going to involve parents — think again. Just like abortion and radical sex ed and everything else Planned Parenthood offers, "you can walk into a clinic at 15 in some states — without your mom or dad's permission, without so much as a therapist's note," Abigail warns, "and get a course of testosterone that day." (The same testosterone, incidentally, that can cause "deepened voiceenlarged clitoris, increase in red blood cell count, and greater risk of heart attackinfertility, vaginal and uterine atrophyendometrial cancer — as well as all the unknown risks" that come with a dangerous and radical puberty intervention.)

FRC's Mary Szoch is sickened by the organization's greed and negligence, but not surprised. "For years, Planned Parenthood has exploited women and killed unborn babies for the sake of making money. They've denied the scientific fact that abortion takes the life of an unborn child." Now, they're rejecting the fact that "a child with XX chromosomes is a girl, and a child with XY chromosomes is a boy. This isn't much of a stretch for an organization that profits off denying a human being is a person who inherently has the right to life."

But it is a stretch for taxpayers to fund it. Contact your state leaders and urge them to introduce legislation that ends this outrageous forced partnership between Americans and Planned Parenthood.

Researcher finds married Americans more likely to vote Republican

Brad Wilcox has been studying the institution of marriage for a long time — but even he was surprised by the data.

February 12, 2021 (Family Research Council) — There were a lot of interesting storylines from the 2020 election that got lost in the mess of recounts and court cases. But now that some of the fog is clearing, and both parties have a chance to follow the trends, Republicans are coming face to face with a stunning development. It wasn't just minority voters that ran to Republicans last November. If you're looking for the sharpest dividing line in the country, it was in a place most pundits didn't look: marriage.

Brad Wilcox has been studying the institution of marriage for a long time — but even he was surprised by the data. Married Americans keep voting Republican, he wrote after poring over the numbers from the 2020 election. Of course, he agreed, it's long been assumed that "... families and communities with more children tend to vote red. But there is another key dimension: Marriage continues to shape U.S. elections. This past November, married Americans and communities with more married men and women were markedly more likely to vote Republican."

In fact, Wilcox explained, it's one of the strongest associations in voting behavior he's seen. "You see this trend across the board," he explained on "Washington Watch." Of course, one of the more interesting things about it, he says, is that researchers can't tell which drives which: "whether being conservative drives you to marriage or marriage drives you to conservatism." Either way, he says, marriage — not race or gender — was the best predictor of voting trends. "To be clear, we were looking at regional trends. But the biggest factor we saw in our research here was the marital status of populations across counties in the U.S."

In fact, it wasn't even close. Married men were not only more likely to vote for President Trump (56-42 percent) but married women too (52-48 percent). And interestingly enough, Brad found that married couples were even more likely to gravitate to Trump in 2020 than 2016 — so the trend continues to grow. "That was a striking finding," he agreed, "that there was a majority for both. And that there was an increase from the last election to the current election.

"We do know," Brad explained, that "Americans who report that they're more conservative are more likely to get married in the first place — and they're actually more likely to stay married today. And that sort of divide between conservatives and liberals has grown since the 1970s... But we also think that sort of the transition into marriage might make people more conservative as well, that just your attitude towards taxes or attitudes toward government could be conditioned or shaped by whether or not you have a spouse and the financial resources that tend to come with having that stability on the home front." A person's views on things like education, crime, or any number of issues can be shaped by whether you're married with children. People who are single, he explained by way of comparison, especially single parents, are more likely to rely on government for financial support.

Of course, there's a powerful message in this for both parties — but for Republicans in particular. If conservatives would start emphasizing policies that promote marriage and family, they'd be doing themselves — and this nation — a huge favor. Our entire country would benefit from more programs that make it easier to afford getting married and having children. "We need to be thinking of constructive ideas that... make family formation easier for ordinary Americans," Brad insisted. He pointed to a recent poll, where half of Americans felt like they didn't have the number of kids they wanted to have — in large part, because of finances. "It's time for policymakers to look more closely at the economic challenges facing ordinary families."

If we want more Americans to vote red, let's start by getting them in the black!

Are Mike Bloomberg and Bill Gates influencing CDC policy and the COVID-19 death counts?

It is relevant to see where Mike Bloomberg – and his Bloomberg Philanthropies – spend their money. And it happens that Bloomberg Philanthropies spends money at the CDC as well as on health data entities which calculate and report causes of death statistics, which would include COVID-19 statistics.

February 12, 2021 (LifeSiteNews) — Prior to the reported introduction of COVID-19 in the United States, it was probably thought by many that U.S. government public health entities could not be, or at least were not yet, corrupted by politically liberal influences. U.S. government entities which provide things like public health data -including national statistics of numbers and causes of deaths for Americans -are seemingly not in the realm of potential corruption by politically liberal influences.

But with a little looking into the matter, one discovers that Leftists may even have direct influence on national and international public health statistics, potentially even including COVID-19 death counts.

In the U.S., the main entity providing COVID-19 data, including COVID-19 death counts, is the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Several persons have written about the CDC’s COVID-19 death counts being potentially vastly over-stated. The main argument is that the CDC is wrongly listing COVID-19 as the cause of death when other causes are the actual cause of death. This argument implies that actual deaths are occurring in the U.S. and the CDC is wrongly labeling the death as a COVID-19 death.

But there is another possibility, which is that deaths are not actually occurring and numbers of deaths are merely being wrongly added to the COVID-19 death counts. This possibility is not much different than the voter fraud allegations which suggest that politically Leftist entities were involved with over-stating or forging vote counts.

Of course, one might respond by suggesting that if the providers of COVID-19 data and health statistics in the U.S. government were simply forging deaths that never occurred, then how would one explain the apparent increase in deaths throughout the world? One potential answer is that the CDC and other entities closely associated with the CDC are involved with the provision of death statistics in multiple countries. This would obviously make it easier to over-state COVID-19 death counts internationally.

While looking into the possibility of wrongdoing, some have determined that certain COVID-19 statistics, like those from New York City, are implausible if not impossible. New York City was the major location which significantly influenced the lockdowns and other draconian responses throughout the U.S. to the reported outbreak of COVID-19. One might say that the COVID-19 situation in New York City -including what some have called its “made-for-tv” appearance -was a condition necessary for the COVID-19 chaos throughout the U.S. which has been ongoing for almost a year now.

But when looking closely at the COVID-19 hospitalizations and COVID-19 deaths reported in New York City in March, April, and May of 2020, one might reasonably conclude that those statistics are at least implausible.

Again, the CDC provides the national COVID-19 death statistics in America. And one may or may not be surprised to discover that Leftist entities like Bloomberg Philanthropies and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation appear to have influence on the CDC -including the division of the CDC which is directly involved with providing COVID-19 death counts in the U.S. and other countries.

One might remember that in January of 2020, soon before the reported outbreak of COVID-19 in New York City, former New York City Mayor, and former potential Democratic presidential candidate, Michael Bloomberg reportedly said, “Number one priority is to get rid of Donald Trump. I’m spending all my money to get rid of Trump”.

It is relevant, then, to see where Mr. Bloomberg – and his Bloomberg Philanthropies – spends his money. And it happens that Bloomberg Philanthropies spends money at the CDC as well as on health data entities which calculate and report causes of death statistics, which would include COVID-19 statistics.

Bloomberg Philanthropies is a large donor to Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health as well as the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security. Johns Hopkins University has been thoroughly involved in the provision of COVID-19 information.

Additionally, in partnership with the World Economic Forum and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security hosted the October 18, 2019 “high-level pandemic exercise” called “Event 201.” It is worth recalling to mind the way that the event organisers described the event:

Event 201 simulateds an outbreak of a novel…coronavirus transmitted from bats to pigs to people that eventually becomes efficiently transmissible from person to person, leading to a severe pandemic. The pathogen and the disease it causes are modeled largely on SARS, but it is more transmissible in the community setting by people with mild symptoms.

The “high-level pandemic exercise” was held in New York City only a few months before the reported beginning of the COVID-19 outbreak in the U.S., also mainly in New York City. The simulated novel coronavirus pandemic exercise was in New York City, while Johns Hopkins University Center for Health Security is in Baltimore, Maryland. Instead of hosting the event in the host’s city, the event was hosted in New York City. The “novel coronavirus” COVID-19 pandemic then reportedly began in New York City a few months later.

Of course, that is just one city. But one will discover that Bloomberg Philanthropies and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation may also monetarily influence the entire U.S. through influencing the CDC, including the division of the CDC which provides COVID-19 death counts and other statistics. The CDC website explains:

CDC is collaborating with Bloomberg Philanthropies, CDC Foundation, and other partners to work toward strengthening public health systems in low- to middle-income countries across Latin America, Asia, and Africa.

The collaboration is funded by Bloomberg Philanthropies; additionally, Bloomberg Data for Health Initiative is involved with the collaboration through “the collection and use of critical public health information” including recording causes of death on death registrations in multiple countries to “[e]nhance use of data for maximum impact in policy making and priority setting.”

And here’s the way that the CDC describes its contribution and collaboration with the Bloomberg Data for Health Initiative:

CDC’s National Center for Health Statistics will provide technical expertise and help develop a workable system to capture accurate information on births and deaths. With its partners, CDC hopes to improve health data registration systems, which will improve the quantity and quality of this data to inform policy-making.

Thus, the CDC’s National Center for Health Statistics, in collaboration with Bloomberg Data for Health Initiative, is involved with developing systems which provide death statistics in multiple countries. And, it is very important to note that the CDC’s National Center for Health Statistics is the entity providing the COVID-19 death counts in America.

Many have questioned whether the CDC had political motives in over-stating COVID-19 death counts. The above discussion shows that the CDC’s National Center for Health Statistics collaborates with the Bloomberg Philanthropies’ Bloomberg Data for Health Initiative-funded by the former Democratic Mayor of New York City and former Democratic Party presidential candidate. And, the CDC’s National Center for Health Statistics is the entity tallying the COVID-19 death counts in America. This may be significant politically liberal influence on COVID-19 data.

And both the CDC and the Bloomberg Data for Health Initiative are not only involved with death statistics in America, but also China, Brazil, India, and several other countries. And the Bloomberg Data for Health Initiative is also in partnership with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

There is more potential politically liberal influence on the CDC through the CDC Foundation. It was mentioned above that the CDC is collaborating with Bloomberg Philanthropies and the CDC Foundation in the provision of causes of death data throughout the world. The CDC Foundation is, again in its own words:

[A]n independent nonprofit and the sole entity created by Congress to mobilize philanthropic and private-sector resources to support the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s critical health protection work [and] a catalyst for unleashing the power of collaboration between CDC and philanthropies, private entities and individuals to protect the health, safety and security of America and the world.

Recent partners and contributors to the CDC Foundation are Bloomberg Philanthropies, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the Chinese Zhejiang Disigns Diagnostics, among others.

And while it cannot be completely discussed, it is also worth mentioning Big Pharma’s potential influence on U.S. federal government public health employees at the CDC, FDA, NIH, and elsewhere – influences which may result in the widespread harm through U.S. government public health employees using their power to coerce persons into the use of dangerous biological products, vaccines, other chemicals, or unproven diagnostic tests while receiving direct or indirect gain. Previous articles of mine have mentioned that Moderna co-developed one of the currently in distribution (but not proven to be safe and effective for marketing in the U.S.) SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19 vaccines with the U.S. National Institutes for Health (NIH) and the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness (CEPI; page 60), funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

Or consider the CDC Foundation again; the CDC Foundation’s donation page says that donations to the CDC Foundation “accelerate and expand CDC’s work.” So, the CDC Foundation is linked to the CDC rather than being a completely separate entity. Several Big Pharma entities partner with the CDC Foundation, and so too do multiple producers of SARS-CoV-2 tests given emergency use authorization. These influences, though somewhat tangential to the main topic of this article, are worth keeping in mind when listening to U.S. government public health officials’ “guidelines” (which may be more accurately labeled as “coercions”) promoting biological products, still un-approved COVID-19 vaccines, or other chemicals.

Thus, powerful politically liberal entities appear to have significant influence on the provision of death data, which would include COVID-19 death counts, at the CDC’s National Center for Health Statistics and several foreign countries.

Just as potential voter fraud in the previous election is being shown to be difficult to prove, so too would it be difficult to prove potentially deliberate over-counting of COVID-19 deaths which may not have occurred. But the above facts showing powerful politically liberal entities influencing the CDC, at minimum, provide more reasons to question the reliability of COVID-19 death data in America.

February 12, 2021 (LifeSiteNews) – On Wednesday February 10, Google deleted the LifeSiteNews channel from YouTube. LifeSite was active on YouTube for a decade and only ever got even a warning after Joe Biden’s election.

With just over 314,000  subscribers and an average of 50K+ views on each episode of our flagship show, and with some of our shows reaching over 2 million views, YouTube cancelled us. Since then, we’ve been deluged with questions about what happened, why it happened, and what we’re doing about it.

I recorded a special video (which you can watch below) so you can watch those clips we believe we were banned for by YouTube and so you can decide for yourself if they were worthy of sanction.

Our LifeSite channel had 2,000 videos on it. One of those videos had nearly 9 million views. And plenty had over a million. And we were never even given so much as a warning by YouTube until Joe Biden was elected. The most important point to remember in all this is that with Joe Biden’s Presidency, cancel culture went mainstream.

It may sound like a bad joke, but we were first given warnings and strikes from YouTube for videos by a nun, a medical doctor, and a bishop. No joke. The final couple of strikes leading to our ban were for comments by a vaccine expert and then for me quoting a bishop.

Even Fox News’ Tucker Carlson called it for what it really was last night in his monologue. Watch it by clicking here.

Strike number one that LifeSite got from YouTube was for a video we aired of renowned Canadian doctor with extensive credentials who gave testimony to a city government hearing on COVID-19 measures in Western Canada back in November. He began his remarks noting that what he was going to say would seem counter-narrative so he wanted to establish his credentials so that his remarks would not be summarily dismissed.

So what did that Cambridge University trained specialist with credentials and prestige a mile long have to say about COVID and lockdowns which were so offensive to the non-medically trained overlords at YouTube? Here is what he said in his testimony to the city council hearing.

“Everyone acknowledges that the virus is real, that it is a problem, what this doctor and countless other doctors and medical professionals have said is that it’s like a bad flu. And the proposal that COVID necessitates economy and social-life killing lockdowns is a hoax which is being used to usher in a Great Reset dreamed of by elites of this world for decades.”

Our first warning from YouTube came in November of 2020 for an episode of the Mother Miriam Live show, LifeSite’s daily show with Mother Miriam Moss, a wonderful, joyful, traditional, Catholic sister very much in the mold of Mother Angelica. During a November 2020 show on giving children Catholic Christmas Traditions, Mother Miriam mentioned those exact same concepts as the Canadian doctor, acknowledging that coronavirus is real but that it’s more like a flu than anything else and also that it is being used as a hoax.

The next strike we got from YouTube was over an episode of The Bishop Strickland Show, which airs weekly at LifeSiteNews.com. The world-famous Bishop of Tyler, Texas, Joseph Strickland, has been one of the most outspoken defenders of faith, life and family in the hierarchy. In a video which aired in December 2020, he said he would not accept a vaccine that has the DNA of aborted children in it. He also acknowledged that the Pfizer vaccine does NOT have that, but he said that it was tested on a cell line that did include the aborted children. That is all absolutely factual information, uncomfortable though it might be for the leftists wanting to push the vaccine globally.

Interestingly, we went after YouTube with a lawyer’s letter for giving us that strike and they backed down, eventually putting that video back up.

Another strike from YouTube came in response to my show with vaccine researcher and microbiologist Pamela Acker. Acker, one of the  most knowledgeable people  in the world on vaccines  and  on  what goes into them. She is the author of a newly released book titled  Vaccination: A Catholic Perspective.  Acker  actually spent  time in a vaccine research lab for nine months before encountering the ethical and moral issue of the HEK-293 aborted fetal cell line.

Our conversation was one of the most enlightening but also most deeply disturbing interviews I’ve ever done for my podcast  The John-Henry Westen Show.  This is likely the show YouTube hated the most.

Acker made clear some of the most disturbing facts about vaccines and their horrific connection to abortion. It’s not only one or two aborted babies used way back in the 70’s, it’s hundreds, if not thousands. Moreover, the babies had to be healthy and over three months gestation so the researchers could harvest their organs. The babies also had to be alive for the harvesting so these abortions had to be planned with tissue extraction in mind, much the same way organ donation happens. The Pfizer COVID vaccine does not contain remnants of the aborted babies in it, but was indeed tested on aborted fetal cell lines. However, in the upcoming vaccines such as the AstraZeneca vaccine and the Johnson and Johnson vaccine, there are remainders of these aborted fetal cells that end up in the vaccines themselves. And that is true, by the way, of other vaccines like the rubella vaccine and the chicken pox vaccine.

Sickening for sure, but absolutely factual information, exactly the type of information that LifeSiteNews, as a news agency, should be providing. And yet, the oligarchs at Google which owns YouTube have decided shall not be revealed to the public.

The final strike from YouTube which brought down the LifeSite YouTube channel completely was my reading out of a tweet by Bishop Strickland on my show.

In response to media questions, YouTube has claimed that we were banned for putting out medical misinformation.Tthis is a complete falsehood and we are pursuing a legal remedy on that front.

Just like when we were barred from Twitter for calling a biological male a male, we will continue to speak the truth and will not give in to the threats of Big Tech and the censors who wish to  remove inconvenient  truths from the public square.

To show you how insane the YouTube standards are for what they deem acceptable medical information regarding COVID-19, take a look at the COVID guru himself, Dr. Anthony Fauci, who has flip flopped so many times on masking that it’s embarrassing.

That is the same Anthony Fauci who opined that Holy Communion must not be distributed, but was not ready to ban sex with strangers.

Fauci, who very much like Joe Biden, claims to be Catholic, in a May interview with the Jesuit America magazine, was asked if the Eucharist can be distributed in a safe way, and responded with an emphatic “no.”

“I think for the time being, you just gotta forestall that,” he said.

Just a month before, Fauci said it was “tough” to say whether it was alright during the pandemic to have sex with strangers met on dating apps like Tinder, but “if you’re willing to take a risk — and you know, everybody has their own tolerance for risks — you could figure out if you want to meet somebody.”

Truly unbelievable.

Since the election of Joe Biden, cancel culture has taken a deadly hold in the United States. But our awesome team at LifeSite took it as a challenge and an opportunity. Already our Rumble channel is starting to catch up to our former YouTube daily views despite having only a fraction of the subscribers.

By deleting our channel, YouTube has scrubbed the Internet of hundreds of hours of videos that range from interviews with Catholic cardinals who’ve previously run Vatican dicasteries, international pro-life leaders, politicians, and some of the best, original pro-life reporting around.

All of our reporting on the coronavirus vaccines, masks, and lockdowns has been solidly based in science, not liberal fantasy. When we report inconvenient truths that the power-hungry, tyrannical, Chinese Communist Party-serving World Health Organization doesn’t like, their allies in Big Tech are happy to censor us, it seems.

YouTube and other tech titans are simply not interested in allowing anyone to dissent from their state-approved, liberal, totalitarian ideology. Fortunately, we've already taken pre-emptive measures to ensure the truth will continue to reach the ears of those most in need of it in these dictatorial times.

The best thing you can do to stay in touch with us, and with all our coverage (text, audio and video) is to come direct to LifeSiteNews.com, where we will be regardless of which different video platform we have to switch to. If you want video only, please check out our Rumble channel by clicking here. At the LifeSiteNews Rumble channel, you will find the John-Henry Westen show, the Jonathan Van Maren Show and all our awesome on-site news coverage by video producer Jim Hale.

On the LifeSite Catholic channel on Rumble (click here to watch) you will find the Fr. Pillari daily rosary, which airs at noon, and also the Mother Miriam Live daily show and the weekly Bishop Strickland Show.

We are active on various other platforms too like Gab and Telegram.

How to prevent your kids from abandoning the faith

Pro-life film producer Jason Jones details his long journey to the Catholic faith while also giving advice for parents raising young children.

February 12, 2021 (LifeSiteNews) — I’ve been trying to get my friend (and well-known pro-life warrior) Jason Jones on my podcast for the longest time. Well, it finally happened. Today, he made an appearance and he did not disappoint.

It’s always a pleasure when I get to catch up with Jason. He’s so busy making amazing films like Bella, Crescendo, and Divided Hearts of America, that it’s difficult to pin him down.

Jason has a rather unique story to tell and it’s one some of you may be familiar with already. When he was younger, Jason was adamantly anti-Catholic. At one point, he embraced the philosophies of atheist Ayn Rand and Friedrich Nietzsche. Although he was convinced that the pro-life stance was the correct one, he resisted the teachings of Jesus Christ.

“When I graduated college … my goals were to end abortion and develop Ayn Rand's anthropology, metaphysics, and victimology and to destroy the Catholic Church,” he said.

We talked about how he eventually converted to Catholicism thanks to G.K. Chesterton, Hilaire Belloc, and the Church’s teachings on the dignity of the human person.

What I found most interesting during our discussion was not so much his past, even though it is a miraculous story, but what he had to say about the present day in his duty as a parent.

“There are two big obstacles that our children are going to face,” he said. “First of all, if our children are drifting from the faith, especially as they get older, as you mentioned, there's the spirit of the age.”

“It’s so important that we impress upon our children the importance of remaining in a state of grace, frequenting the sacraments, especially confession, sacramentals, filling our houses with the music of our faith.”

The second obstacle children face today, he continued, is scandal.

“The greatest scandal to my children could be me,” he explained. “I think the first thing me and my wife want our children to see is that that we serve and love and honor the vulnerable and, in doing so, that we show that we will not conform to the spirit of the age.”

Jason advised parents to “not allow the world to puncture the moral imagination of our children …. our children's moral imagination should not be invaded at every minute with discussion about politics and that the tragedy of the of bishops openly dissenting from the teachings of the faith.”

“We cannot let the hatred and the division and the calumny and the gaslighting and the insanity that's that we're all having to deal with as adults” invade our children’s lives, he added. “Let's shelter our children from that, ground them into transcendent truths, fill our life with the sacraments, the beauty of the faith, bring them to the sacraments, be the same person inside the house, outside of the house to the best of our ability.”

Great advice from a great man if you ask me. If you haven’t already, be sure to watch Jason’s latest pro-life movie Divided Hearts of AmericaWe need good and positive things to watch now more than ever. May God bless you.

Christian pastor in Germany fined for ‘inciting hatred’ against homosexuals

The pastor had merely reiterated biblical teaching on homosexuality in a private seminar.

February 12, 2021 (LifeSiteNews) — In a stunning sentence late last year, a court in Bremen, Germany, sentenced Rev. Olaf Latzel of St. Martini (part of the Evangelical Church in Germany: EKD) to a fine of €8,100 for “inciting hatred” against homosexuals in private remarks made to church couples. During the seminar, Latzel defended the biblical definitions of gender and sexuality, condemning the Berlin Pride March and referring to gender ideology as “an attack against God’s order of Creation.”

Latzel’s defense lawyer called the sentence, which the pastor is appealing, a “catastrophe,” and warned that free speech was under threat: “While today this is about a view found in the Bible, tomorrow it will be about any other opinion.”

Latzel’s lawyer told the court that the Bremen pastor was condemning behavior rather than people, but the judge stated that the “homosexual orientation of a person is a part of [his] personality.” Some Protestant leaders in Bremen appear to be more concerned by how biblical teachings reflect on their popularity, rather than by threats to their ability to proclaim the Gospel, announcing in response to the sentence that they “condemned in the strongest terms” Latzel’s words. The EKD is a largely liberal denomination, and Latzel’s traditional views have made him a controversial figure for some time. St. Martini church, where Latzel serves as pastor, has even had services interrupted by LGBT activists.

To discuss the implications of this ongoing case, I reached out to Manfred Müller with the German office of Voice of the Martyrs. Müller told me that Latzel was prosecuted in a “political show trial” in “a huge public space rented in order for many people to attend the public spectacle.” His case, Müller said, needs international attention.

What is the significance of this case? Is there a precedent for it?

There is no precedent for it. It’s the other way around: This will serve as a precedent for future cases. That makes it so significant. We have seen this coming for a long time. Even a few years ago some conservative Christian might have already said: If I were to imagine persecution coming to Germany, I might imagine it along the lines of moral especially sexual ethics.

Now, with Olaf Latzel, for the first time a German court restricts religious freedom (Article 4, Basic Law) for the benefit of the homosexual lobby. Or to put it in more neutral terms: to protect the feelings and rights of homosexuals.

At the expense of freedom of speech, religious freedom etc., homosexual rights are protected. This will have consequences (if the judgment will hold against the appeal) for churches in Germany that reject gay blessings and weddings. This could, for example, in the future cause them to lose their status [as charitable organizations]. That would [be] a huge financial disadvantage.

What is the potential outcome for other conservative clergy members?

Already: intimidation to take a biblical stand on this issue. In addition, new realities will be created in the regional church, meaning that in the future pastors with a critical attitude towards blessing homosexual couples or even conducting weddings will not be admitted to the church as clergy. Before being employed, an interview could be held asking them about their stance on those issues. Thus, facts are created and pastors with a biblical view of homosexuality will then no longer exist.

How was Latzel’s trial a “show trial” — a very loaded word in the German context?

By relocating the trial to the public arena (a local theater) instead of the courtroom, thus allowing for more people to attend. Plus, the rush to judgment in the media and the prejudice by all the involved parties. All that created prejudgment and pressure on the judge to make the “right” decision.

How was the trial unfair?

The whole accusation does not hold. There was never the intention to publish what Olaf Latzel shared in this internal Bible study group for couples. It was a closed event. No way that this could or even should have served to spark public hate, let alone “incitement of the masses” (the accusation).

So to begin with, the seminar was not public. It should never be on the internet (actually the recording of the event records Pastor Latzel himself saying this at the beginning: This is not to be published.) In the talk Pastor Latzel always speaks of “homosexuality,” not of “homosexuals,” differentiating between sin and sinner. This differentiation has not been taken into account by the court, which would have been absolutely necessary for the verdict.

Can anything be done to redress the situation?

Jesus is Lord. HE can change anything and everything. Speak but one word. He only has to speak one word. That is why prayer is so important. If folks could just pray for our Brother Latzel.

Also, pressure. International pressure. It might be helpful to write letters to the church.

How does this bode ill for the future?

The position for those who are faithful to the Bible and for conservative congregations will change and has already become more difficult. We should not forget that the church Pastor Latzel is serving, the St. Martini church in Bremen, is also [being] harassed. In Germany, the Pietists were seen as crown jewels of society (in Württemberg). But today they are no longer considered socially acceptable.
