(LifeSiteNews) — Past remarks made by Democratic vice presidential candidate Tim Walz continue to expose him not as a moderate Midwesterner but as a woke activist who supports radical liberal causes.

Some of Walz’s most shocking comments have been making the rounds on X since he was tapped by Harris on Tuesday to be her running mate.

In a clip from a “White Dudes for Harris” fundraiser last week, Walz criticizes Republicans for allegedly undermining “the basic social safety net that makes this country great.”

“Don’t ever shy away from our progressive values. One person’s socialism is another person’s neighborliness. Just do the damn work,” he proudly boasted.

Walz was part of a three-hour Zoom call with about 190,000 participants.

Pro-abortion actors Mark Hamill, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Sean Astin were among the celebrities who spoke. Homosexual Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg and Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker, a pro-abortion Democrat, also appeared.

The event ultimately raised over $4 million.

Walz also told the group that he and his wife spent seven years “trying to get pregnant and needed fertility treatments, things like IVF (in vitro fertilization), things that (Republicans) would ban.”

GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump has repeatedly said he supports IVF as well as abortion in various circumstances, frustrating socially conservative and Christian voters. Both practices are intrinsically evil according to the Catechism of the Catholic Church.

Walz is also being criticized for having expressed sympathy for rioters affiliated with the radical American Indian Movement. In June 2020, they tore down a Christopher Columbus on the state capitol grounds, causing $154,000 in damages.

At a press conference, Walz said they had “legitimate concerns,” though he promised there would be “consequences.”

Leaked emails revealed that Walz and his team quickly determined they would not reinstall the statue.

“I can’t say I’m sad the statue of Christopher Columbus is gone,” Walz’s liberal Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan said. He “set in motion centuries of violence and genocide against the Indigenous people who already lived here.”

“Obviously we’re not putting it back up, but we should have a democratic process about what takes its place,” a Walz press aide also said.

The man who organized the vandalism faced no jail time and did not have to pay any fines, Alpha News reported at the time. Rather, he was ordered to complete 100 hours of community service as a form of “restorative justice.”

Over 5,000 Minnesotans signed a petition calling on Walz to restore the statue to no avail.

Christopher Columbus was an Italian Catholic explorer who, with support from Spain’s Queen Isabella and King Ferdinand, became the first European to sail the Pacific Ocean and land in North America in 1492.

His journey, which helped spread the Catholic faith in a land where human sacrifice was the norm, was praised by Pope Leo XIII in 1892 as being “the highest and grandest which any age has ever seen accomplished by man.”

As reported by LifeSite U.S. bureau chief Doug Mainwaring, Walz established as Minnesota governor a program to bribe teens with $200 VISA cards to take the COVID-19 jab while offering them a chance to win a $100,000 scholarship. He also signed an executive order making Minnesota a sanctuary for gender transitions and signed into law a “right” to unlimited abortion, putting the North Star State on par with the likes of North Korea.
