(LifeSiteNews) — In an apparent attempt to “flip the script,” Donald Trump sent out an X post this week branding Kamala Harris and her radical, left-wing policies as the real “Project 2025” that would endanger the United States.

Among other things, Trump’s post highlighted Harris’ open borders, pro-LGBT, and pro-abortion stances by noting that she supports citizenship for 20 million illegal immigrants, transgender surgeries for minors, and the use of taxpayer dollars for abortions.

X owner Elon Musk, who has endorsed Trump for president, shared Trump’s post to his own account.

Trump has played defense this entire campaign season when it comes to Project 2025, an initiative conceived by the D.C.-based conservative think tank the Heritage Foundation two years ago.

The project, a 900-page, 180-day playbook created by a coalition of over 100 conservative organizations puts forth an aggressive transition plan for the next U.S. president. The document is part of the Foundation’s “Mandate for Leadership” series that, since 1981, has collected and distilled conservative policy proposals for lawmakers on Capitol Hill and the Oval Office. Among other things, it proposes sweeping executive actions and domestic policy goals that seek to end the Deep State’s control over the U.S. and restore America to its former greatness.

As noted by LifeSite reporter Doug Mainwaring, Democrats have been so scared of what Project 2025 outlines that they’ve repeatedly lied about its contents, as well as Trump’s connection to it.

During a speech to the American Federation of Teachers on July 25, Kamala Harris said, “Project 2025 is a plan to return America to a dark past.” She also alleged Trump would implement it if he is re-elected when they had their first and only debate earlier this month.

But Trump has repeatedly disavowed the bold initiative, telling moderators at the ABC debate – as well as crowds at his rallies – that he has nothing to do with it.

Trump’s continual rejection of what can only be seen as the best policies that conservative and nationalist thinkers have come up with in decades has perplexed religious Americans.

“Project 2025 was former Trump staffers who wanted to avoid the 2017 personnel problems,” commentator Mike Cernovich explained. “Trump’s campaign is managed by a lifelong Bush loyalist who wanted AG Paxton in prison, and blamed Trump for J6. Jobs are being promised to Never Trump’ers. Had to push aside 2025.”

Whatever agenda Trump’s current inner circle is planning on following in the first months of his potential second term, one can only hope that it is similar to what Project 2025 calls for. At the same time, his campaign must continue to brand Harris as the real threat to American democracy and to inform voters that it is she, not Trump, who will be a puppet for the military industrial complex and a tool for those who want to flood the U.S. with dangerous illegal immigrants, de-Christianize the country, promote abortion and gender ideology, and restrict the religious liberties of God-fearing citizens.
