It sounds disproportionate, to say the least, that the Holy See, which is so committed in words to distancing itself from mingling with the temporal power and so zealous in preaching the separation of Church and State, would not hesitate to unleash public force against thirteen Sisters whose only wrong was having wanted to remain faithful to their proper charism as Benedictines.
