LifeSiteNews and a few other pro-life information services usually publish the only accurate and honest reports on pro-life demonstrations, marches and other events.  Rarely do mainstream media cover these events at all or without a lot of bias and manipulation – even if hundreds of thousands participate. It was therefore shockingly refreshing to read the October 13 column by Andrew Bolt in the Herald Sun titled, The Left reveals an ugly face in anti-abortion rally.

The Herald, Australia’s largest-selling daily newspaper, labels Bolt as, “Australia’s most read columnist”. From what I am told, he is not particularly pro-life or social conservative. Nevertheless, his honest descriptions about what the barbarians who attacked the March for the Babies did is a substantial gift to the Australian pro-life movement.

Here are some of Bolt’s incredible comments in the article:

“I saw those Socialist Alliance protesters and feminists for hours shout down, blockade, hit, abuse and destroy the property of citizens, priests included, trying to peacefully express a different point of view – that killing babies in the womb is wrong.

I saw socialists and feminists yanking signs from the hands of women older than themselves and destroying their balloons, as if those women had no right to speak and no right to their own property.

I saw some socialists and feminists push police and shove and hit anti-abortionists. One politician was hit with an egg; another was allegedly kicked.

I saw a socialist wearing a “F… Tony Abbott” T-shirt.

I saw one feminist screaming hysterically in the face of someone trying to speak to her.

Some anti-abortionists possibly retaliated, but the police knew who was causing the trouble, and their lines faced the socialists and feminists, to protect the anti-abortionists behind them.

In this demonstration I saw socialists and feminists betray almost every principle they profess to hold.”

Bolt ends the column stating, “They call themselves progressives. They are instead barbarians, so sure of their goodness they feel licensed to do evil.”

So, if some people don’t believe what we have written and shown about last Saturday’s travesty, if they think we exaggerated and sensationalized it all, well then, what do they have to say about Andrew Bolt’s column?

Bolt wrote what he actually saw, not what his editors decided how they wanted to spin the story or not what he selectively wanted to pick out and spin to support his personal views on whatever.

As for the other media, there was the usual, shameful tactic of crafting the reporting to make it appear that both sides were battling each other and were equally responsible for all the mayhem. Still, the abortion fanatics were so very lunatic that it wasn’t quite as easy to make this reporting bias totally convincing.

The Australian, in its typical mainstream media report titled, “Anti-abortion protesters in clash during CBD rally”, did present some impressive video footage of the chaos and violence.

It would seem from the title, which unfortunately is the only thing that many people will have read, it was the pro-lifers (rather than “anti-abortionists”) who caused all the trouble. Right. You and I and Andrew Bolt now know the exact opposite was the truth. “clash”, is an understatement.

The report stated, “As both sides traded taunts and name-calling police formed a human barricade to separate the groups. Some scuffles broke out as a handful of demonstrators ripped banners and threw punches.”

Note that “both sides” were apparently equally taunting and name-calling and that it is not stated who did the scuffling and ripping banners and throwing of punches. In reality it was ridiculously obvious to anyone with eyes and ears that only one side was doing it all.

This false reporting can only be deliberate. It’s not journalism. It is naked propaganda, prostituting journalists to do the dirty work of their ideological masters.

The video footage is impressive for the most part, but notice that the commentator deliberately avoids mentioning who was doing what to whom in the video. To most viewers therefore it appears that both sides were going at it. Who would blame them. That is exactly the impression the producers wanted them to get. It’s a bald-faced lie. I have seen this done many hundreds of times over the years that I have been covering pro-life and pro-family events.

Still, there were a few items in the report that would allow the more astute viewers to gather what really happened. However, most viewers are not astute. The media elite are well aware of that.

Now that you know what really happened, I urge LifeSiteNews readers to watch the video report.  It is a good study in media manipulation that is done all over the world. After watching it, contact the Australian at [email protected] and tell them, respectfully and with thoughtful writing, what you think about their reporting of what happened at the March for Babies.

Lastly, we have added some important new information to our first report on the March for Babies, Police stood by while pro-lifers were assaulted in plain view: March for Babies organizer (VIDEO). The march was stopped twice, not just once, and in both cases, the police were seriously implicated in these delays and the repercussions that occurred because of them.

Much thanks to Andrew Smith, our Australia correspondent, for all the work he did covering this explosive, internationally newsworthy event.
