Let me introduce you to Dr. Warren Hern, one of America’s “late-term abortionists.”
This is what Hern thinks about pregnancy:
“Pregnancy is not a benign condition. […]
The treatment of choice for pregnancy is abortion.”
The reported shortage of abortionists willing to commit late-term abortions is actually “what drives him,” The LA Times glowingly reports.
Hern’s ghastly “work” is going to become A LOT more common – unless outlets like LifeSiteNews can continue to speak out in the run-up to the election.

Despite the appalling nature of Dr. Hern’s “work,” the media praises him for his willingness to kill babies in the womb at 30+ weeks’ gestation.
Last year, The Atlantic published a profile on Hern, describing the horror of the abortions he commits:
“(O)nce or twice, during a procedure at 15 or 16 weeks, he used forceps to remove a fetus with a still-beating heart. The heart thumped for only a few seconds before stopping.
“But for a long while after, a vision of that fetus would wake Hern from sleep. He could see it in his mind; the inches-long body and its heart, beating, beating, beating.”
But something happens to the man who perseveres in evil. As St Augustine said, one of the most terrible punishments for sin is being allowed to persevere in more sin.
And Hern, we’re told, eventually got used to what he was doing. His dreams stopped, he slept easy, and embraced his “trade.”
In effect, Hern committed an abortion on his conscience.
Perhaps the $6,000 charged per late-term abortion is a powerful incentive. And in 2023, The Atlantic reported that “Hern’s business is booming” – with an increase of 50% in his clientele.
When the journalist asked Hern if he found joy in what he does, Hern answered:
“I love it.”
Some of those looking to gain power in the USA seem to love it too.
Throughout his presidency, President Joe Biden has called for Congress to codify a federal “right to abortion” and specifically endorsed the so-called “Women’s Health Protection Act,” which would dramatically restrict states’ ability to pass all manner of pro-life laws.
Kamala Harris has made clear that she will take up this fight if she is elected president in November.
Some of the stooges of the “Evil Abortion Empire” have said that they just want a return to the status quo of Roe v. Wade.
But in fact, Harris and others repeatedly refuse to name a single time limit on abortion that they would accept.
Let’s be clear what that means. It means abortion up to birth and logically will extend to legitimizing infanticide in due course.
My LifeSiteNews colleague Jonathan Van Maren described what this looks like:
“… the difficult, sweaty work of dismembering nearly full-term babies and then piecing their corpses back together like bloody jigsaw puzzles to make sure no limbs are left behind.”
In a 1990 book, Warren Hern described the “hard work” involved in killing babies at 30 weeks’ gestation:
“(T)he sensations of dismemberment flow through the forceps like an electric current.”
This is sick. But it’s what the Abortion Empire wants for America.
Unless things change, it looks like they’re going to get it – and more besides.
Infanticide is on the rise. In 2023, Democratic vice presidential nominee Tim Walz supported radical pro-abortion legislation in Minnesota.
State law had previously enshrined a duty to provide “medical care” to abortion survivors. But Walz and his crew insisted that “medical care” be changed to “care.” They removed reference to a duty to “preserve the life and health of the born alive infant” and replaced it with a duty to “care for the infant who is born alive.”
In other words, no duty to preserve life and health: keep the infant warm and care for him while you let him die.
LifeSiteNews is clear on this: abandoning such infants, withholding medical care, and leaving them to die is infanticide no less than killing them directly.
- Infanticide has long been common in several non-Christian nations and cultures, where every human life is not considered to be sacred, and a girl or “imperfect child” are “disposable.”
- We are rapidly becoming more like them, as Christian faith and practice plummet and globalist immigration from such cultures has increased.
But as appalling as all this is, it shouldn’t distract us from the fact that every abortion, no matter the gestational age, destroys the innocent life of a baby, deserving of love and protection.
Let me be clear:
- Late-term abortion is only possible because early abortions are possible.
- While there are early abortions, there will be late-term abortions.
They stand and fall together.
And this makes another betrayal all the more galling.
The betrayal of political establishment “pro-lifers.”
LifeSiteNews is not a partisan organization. We speak the truth, no matter how unpopular it makes us – no matter who or which political party it is about. We will always speak the difficult truth, even about those who present themselves as “pro-life.”
Here is the tragedy: some of the most prominent pro-life statesmen have shifted their positions. “Pro-life” is out, and “some concern about late-term abortions” is in.
Even Donald Trump – who had been the first U.S. president to join the national March for Life – has claimed that his administration will be “great for women and their reproductive rights.”
And we all know what that means.
Trump has been slamming state laws restricting abortion, and complaining that Florida’s six-week abortion ban is “too short”…
… and he said that YOUR TAXPAYER AND INSURANCE DOLLARS will go towards funding the unnatural and destructive process of IVF – a practice that Harris strongly supports as well.
IVF leads to an unacceptable increase in…
- Surrogacy
- Made-to-order children
- Killing of “imperfect” babies
- Sex-selection
- “Wombless gestation and births”
- Homosexual “parents”
- Embryonic experimentation
- Organ harvesting from live fetuses and even newborns,
… and other inevitable atrocities.
Nature cannot be violated without natural consequences.
Then there’s the controversy over Trump’s position on late-term abortion. His vice presidential candidate J.D. Vance said that Trump will veto any federal abortion restrictions that are presented to him.
But on the other hand, in the last presidential debate, Trump refused to say that he would do this, and in fact blamed Vance for saying that, saying that he never said such a thing.
It’s so hard to get to the truth. Nonetheless, it’s certain that the rights of the unborn child have been quietly forgotten – even by their former defenders in the Republican Party.
That’s because “the conservative position” has been redefined as “being against late-term abortion.”
We are betrayed on all sides.
Meanwhile, restrictions on pro-life speech and activity are getting worse and worse.
In May, the “D.C. Nine” were sentenced by a pro-abortion judge. They were convicted in the Washington, D.C., FACE Act (Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act) trials for a peaceful protest at a late-term abortion facility in Washington, D.C.
These brave men and women wanted to save the lives of babies and provide help to their mothers. And now these normal pro-lifers like you and me are in jail.
- Will Goodman, one of the nine, was sentenced to 27 months in prison and fined following conviction last year of blocking access to a late-term abortion facility in the nation’s capital.
- Lauren Handy, John Hinshaw, Heather Idoni, and Rosemary Geraghty were also found guilty of violating the FACE Act and so-called “conspiracy against rights.”
Four more pro-lifers were dealt with soon after.
It was not that long ago when these people of conscience and principles would have been seen as heroes.
How long until YOUR NAME and MY NAME are being reported as pro-lifers who have been sentenced with them?
This isn’t just happening in America. Pro-lifers are being persecuted for speaking the truth outside abortion centers across Canada. And in the U.K., even silent prayer is illegal in some places.
Society continues its free-fall into abominations even worse than those of pre-Christian paganism, in which unwanted infants were exposed to the elements and abandoned to death.
But is it surprising that we are slumping towards infanticide, when our society accepts the satanic anti-sacrament of abortion itself?
Moloch no longer needs a burning iron statue to receive our helpless, innocent babies. He no longer needs his bloodthirsty priests to bang drums and clap their hands in order to drown out their cries.
Modern-day infant sacrifices to Moloch are carried out in the “sanitized” environment of “medical clinics.”
It took nothing less than the God-made-Man Jesus Christ and His Holy Church to end this devilish practice.
And where is His Church today?
I can tell you where it is not. It is not with Cardinal Blase Cupich, who spoke at the abortion-crazed Democratic National Convention in Chicago a few weeks ago.
He was SILENT about life and morality issues and the Democratic Party’s support for abortion – while Planned Parenthood committed abortions in their death-truck nearby.
He was SILENT about his supposed Master, Our Lord Jesus Christ. During his three minute “invocation,” he had his pectoral cross tucked away, hidden inside his jacket.
He prayed for peace and unity and the good of the nation – and never mentioned the incarnate Son of God, Christ our King and Redeemer.
Who or what was he actually “invoking,” then?
Like I said: we are betrayed on all sides.
In the face of this betrayal, what are we to do?
Sister Lucy of Fatima famously said in 1957:
“We should not wait for an appeal to the world to come from Rome on the part of the Holy Father to do penance. Nor should we wait for the call to penance to come from our bishops in our diocese…
“No! Our Lord has already very often used these means and the world has not paid attention. That is why it is necessary for each one of us to begin to reform himself spiritually. Each person must not only save his own soul but also all the souls that God has placed on our path.”
