Blogs

Whew. After almost a full year of careful planning and grunt work, we’ve finally launched our new website!

With its cutting edge design, powerful backend features, and entirely new frontend features (like the Culture of Life, opinion and blog sections, and the ability for readers to comment on stories) we feel that LSN has taken a firm step into the future.

But, if anything, we hope that this is just the beginning.

This past August the entire LSN team (except for our Rome correspondent, alas!) met in a small town in Northern Ontario for a brainstorming session about what LSN has been doing for the past 13 years, and where we would like to see LSN go in the future. I can tell you, after that extremely productive meeting, we’ve got a lot of ambitious goals on our agenda.

A few months ago our two founders, Steve Jalsevac and John-Henry Westen, were in Rome for a conference, where they were urged by a Vatican official to work to get a writer “in every country in the world”! Well, that might seem like a tall order right now, but it’s a goal we would love to attain – to have a massive global network of pro-life and pro-family journalists defending the culture of life and family with nothing but the truth!

And then, of course, the time is ripe to start producing top-notch video content on a regular basis – news summaries and interviews and mini-documentaries. We hope to begin doing so very soon, just as soon as we’re able to find the resources to hire the necessary staff and buy the proper equipment.

Another thing that we’re very excited about is this blog, “On the Beat,” which is a spot where LSN staff can come and ruminate about current events in a more informal setting than the regular news. And with our brand-new comments features, our beloved readers can join in the conversation!

So please, take a minute, and let us know: What do you think about the new site?
