(LifeSiteNews) – In an age where almost nothing is sacred, it seems as if the lives of military veterans are no longer sacred as well.

Recently, a Canadian soldier who was suffering from PTSD due to the horror of war that he underwent in order to serve his nation in the best way he could was told that he ought to consider killing himself as a form of treatment.

Now, technically it was suggested to the solider that he consider euthanasia or assisted suicide, which the Canadian government so lovingly calls “medical assistance in dying,” or MAID. In fairness to the government of Canada, they are not wrong to use the term MAID, as it is now the specialty of public health authorities in Canada to medically assist us all in hastening our death.

Whether it be junk vaccines or lockdowns that keep people away from doctors or by simple mismanagement of the health system that bars many from even seeing doctors, we can rest assured that the Canadian health authorities are doing their best in assisting Canadians with dying.

In any case, what happened to this soldier was tragic.

Imagine being this man, a heroic person who had braved combat and who had humbled himself – something not easy for the rugged persona of a Canadian soldier – by seeking out help in his darkest moments.

If you know anything about PTSD, he had probably already considered suicide multiple times, which is common and utterly tragic. So he sought out assistances through Veteran Affairs Canada (VAC) and, lo and behold, he was told that he might considering offing himself to end the pain.

The phrase “there is a special place in Hell” does not suffice in this instance.

Read between the lines

Eventually, VAC did apologize to the man … but only after he had logged multiple complaints that some government stooge told him he might want to visit the hospital and be put down like a stray dog at a vet clinic.

VAC issued a statement saying that the organization “deeply regrets … where medical assistance in dying was discussed inappropriately.”

Read between the lines. It was not admitted that it was wrong to discuss offing the veteran, but only that it was regrettable. Furthermore, it was “discussed inappropriately,” which is to suggest that it is possible to discuss killing yourself appropriately.

We can reasonably consider that it is not the opinion of VAC that they should never discuss suicidal medical procedures with combat heroes, but only that there is a time and a place to tell GI Joe that he should leave the world like race horse with a broken leg.

Not surprising

I remember when assisted suicide was legalized in Canada. It was February 2015, and I was sitting in a lunch room at what was on paper called a Catholic elementary school.

News came in that the Supreme Court of Canada ruled that it was a right to have a doctor help you kill yourself, and therefore the laws had to be changed to reflect that. My “Catholic” colleagues were thrilled.

Later that year, Justin Trudeau came into power, and then by June 2016, it was now a federally regulated reality that you can have a doctor send you to your eternal reward.

As an aside, how ironic that the courts in Canada consider it a right of all Canadians to leave the world through suicide, but the same government that legalized the procedure has tried to ruin the lives of Canadians who would prefer to avoid needles from doctors that might cause them to die when it isn’t there time.

In any event, since then, MAID has become all the rage here, and it has experienced a striking expansion since the COVID regime began, and now includes “mental illness” as a reason to seek out suicide.

In addition, if you are poor in Canada, then euthanasia might be the solution to all your problems.

National suicide

This push to off veterans who are suffering to have mentally ill people kill themselves, and to take out the poor with euthanasia is – in my opinion – all part of a sort of national suicide that is taking place in Canada.

What else could explain what has become of our nation since Justin Trudeau’s limp-wristed reign of terror began?

The Trudopes of our society have been at constant war with our history, with the Church, with our freedom, and even with our veterans.

The financial policies of this idiotic regime are killing our economy, and all these wounds are self-inflicted.

As morbid as it sounds, there is reason to hope that this suicidal haze will end this attempt to destroy the nation sooner rather than later.

The fact is, those who most heartedly support leftism in this country are literally killing themselves. Combine this fact with the fact that there is a stark demographic winter facing our nation, and things will likely look pretty different in a few short years.

As it stands, the only people having children above replacement rate are deeply religious Canadians, and the secular class is sterilizing itself out of existence and queuing up for suicide, a trend that will only increase as the boomer generation becomes an octogenarian class.
