NEW YORK, February 28, 2017 (LifeSiteNews) — “We're in the fight of our lives” and “need all the help we can get.” “This is a turning point in our nation's history.” “We only survive this moment if we all work together.”
The latest fundraising appeal from Cecile Richards of Planned Parenthood's Action Fund reveals one thing:
Planned Parenthood is desperate.
In the plea to Planned Parenthood’s entire network of abortion supporters, Richards boasts about “organizing tens of thousands,” but her tone is undeniably one of fear.
Richards' emergency appeal describes the political situation as “the biggest threat to reproductive health and rights this country has ever faced.”
Naturally, the fundraising letter asks for money. But, interestingly, Richards repeats her plea over and over.
Richards begs abortion supporters to “power this movement with an urgent gift” — “right now.”
Claiming success in keeping House Speaker “Paul Ryan and others from fast-tracking repeal of the Affordable Care Act,” Richards nevertheless admits that Congress “wants to start dismantling (ObamaCare) as early as next week.”
She considers this survival mode, because political scuttlebutt is that “extremist lawmakers will tie defunding Planned Parenthood” to ObamaCare repeal.
As one former federal prosecutor with the U.S. Department of Justice put it, the time is “now” to slay the abortion Goliath.
Richards also mentions that Planned Parenthood is organizing a “Resistance Recess” while members of Congress are home on break. She repeatedly urges supporters to go to “town halls, community meetings, and other public events” to pressure lawmakers to maintain taxpayer funding for Planned Parenthood, from which she receives nearly $1 million in annual compensation.
“Find an event near you,” she said, “and RSVP if you can attend.”
Richards revealed that last month her abortion megabusiness launched “Planned Parenthood Defenders,” mobilizing “nearly 50,000 people” to stage local “fight back events in communities across the country.”
Planned Parenthood also claimed to be “making sure news organizations tell” the pro-abortion side “with major stories placed in Time, Huffington Post, Newsweek, and more.”
Using battle verbiage, the letter rallies constituents to “fight the racist, xenophobic, transphobic, and homophobic policies the Trump administration and other extremists are pushing.” Richards lists the anathema policies: the “Muslim ban,” deportation “raids,” and “the rollback of Obama-era protections for LGBTQ people.”
Interestingly, the funding appeal no longer claims that Planned Parenthood does mammograms, pap smears, or prenatal care.
As the former federal prosecutor said, Richards “couldn’t get away with that any more.”
