In pro-life circles it is sometimes speculated that we continue to be plagued with cancer since the one who was to discover its cure was aborted. That theory was given new impetus this week with the news that a 17-year-old Chinese girl has come up with what may very well be the cure.
The sex-selective abortions of the Chinese girl-child are notorious due to the nation’s gruesome one-child policy. The recently published “Unnatural Selection: Choosing Boys Over Girls, and the Consequences of a World Full of Men,” by journalist Mara Hvistendahl estimates that some 160 million girls are missing in Asia.
