I’m suddenly hearing and reading about the television series, House of Cards, everywhere.

The show’s backdrop, quoting Wikipedia:

Set in present-day Washington, D.C., House of Cards is the story of Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey), a Democrat from South Carolina… and House Majority Whip who, after getting passed over for appointment as Secretary of State, decides to exact his revenge on those who betrayed him. The series also stars Robin Wright….

House of Cards is produced by Netflix, which releases an entire season all at once for viewing via its livestream service. Netflix dumped all 13 episodes of season two on February 14. This season Underwood has been appointed vice president.

We featured House of Cards in a quote of the day on February 22, wherein Underwood’s wife Claire (Wright) admitted in a CNN interview (screenshot below) to having three abortions – one because of a rape, which was a lie, but which was fine by feminists.

And both the fictional Claire and real Cecile are heads of large nonprofits. The resemblance is indeed notable up to this point. Beneath the facade, Claire is manipulative and evil.

But I digress.

Following the revelation of Claire’s three abortions, House of Cards mischaracterizes pro-life response in typical Hollywood style. According to National Right to Life News:

In episodes following the abortion becoming public, pro-life advocates are portrayed not only as angry and hateful–picketing Claire’s events with signs reading “Shame” and “Baby Killer”- but far worse.

Claire’s husband… remarks that a portion of the country sees her as a “baby killer.” She receives death threats and in one episode, a deranged young man tries to bring explosives to her house after he finds out his own wife had an abortion without his knowledge.

But there is a point in the story line where fiction meets reality. Gregg Cunningham, CEO of Center for Bio-Ethical Reform, wrote in a February 23 email alert that some of CBR’s abortion victim imagery was used in a protest scene:

CBR appears in the credits of a recent episode in this series because we licensed the House of Cards production company to use our abortion photos. Though we did not expect our pictures to make the final edit, our photos did appear beginning near the 20 minute point of season 2, Episode 11.

Our pictures are depicted on signs held by protestors who are seen from inside a slowly passing car.  Barack Obama is a fan of House of Cards and tweets about the series.  We thank God for the opportunity to force him to look at the bodies of the babies butchered by his abortion policies.

A few years ago, British TV Channel 4 used substantial quantities of our abortion video in a widely-viewed documentary on abortion.  One London abortion clinic told a reporter the next day that their business had dropped off because of the documentary.

Abortion imagery saves lives.
