Today, April 16, 2012 marks the 85th birthday of Pope Benedict XVI. Vatican Radio notes that best wishes for the Holy Father can be sent to him here: [email protected]

Here’s my brief note to him:

Dear Holy Father,

Please accept our heartfelt wishes for a blessed birthday form myself, my wife and eight children in Canada.

We pray for you every day at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.

We pray that Our Lady continues to protect and guide you in all things.

It is such a joy for us to have you as an example to look to, as a Holy Father at a time when many even leaders in the Church are lacking in faithfulness.

Thank you for being a shining example.  We love you.
