(LifeSiteNews) — In a recently resurfaced video clip, Democratic U.S. Rep. Ilhan Omar of Minnesota referred to World War II as “World War Eleven.”

The brief clip is from a January 2025 press conference in which Omar called for the repeal of the Alien Enemies Act of 1798, which newly inaugurated President Donald Trump had invoked to deport dangerous Venezuelan gang members illegally present in the United States.

“The last time the Alien Enemies Act was invoked, it was used to detain and deport German, Japanese, Italian immigrants during World War Eleven,” the far-left member of Congress said.

Her mindless blunder is reminiscent of the time in February 2010 that then-President Barack Hussein Obama referred to a Navy Corpsman as a “corpse-man.” He repeated his glaring error three times at that year’s National Prayer Breakfast.

It was then that many realized that the nation’s commander-in-chief was both untethered from and contemptuous of the troops whose fate he controlled. Obama would go on to display his disrespect for the U.S. military multiple times during his presidency.

The 12-second clip of Omar has rightfully invited endless ridicule and scorn on social media.

“How can Ilhan Omar defend a history she doesn’t even understand?” one commentary account asked. “America deserves leaders who know our past. Ignorance has no place in shaping our future.”

“Do you have to be able to pass a basic American History test to be in Congress?” John Rich wondered. “Apparently not. She thinks World War II is World War Eleven. A proud product of The Learing Center.”

Hero activists Chloe Cole and Riley Gaines also picked up on that theme, noting that Omar is obviously a “graduate of the Learing Center,” a reference to one of the fraudulent Somali-run Minnesota daycare centers bilking taxpayers of hundreds of millions of dollars.

Rep. Tim Burchett (R—Kentucky) delivered the best criticism of Omar’s misstep, asking: “How did I miss 9 World Wars?”

“Ilhan Omar referred to World War II as “World War Eleven,” Libs of TikTok noted. “I can’t believe this dummy is in Congress.”

“DEPORT this Somali already,” the popular news site’s X account demanded.

Conservative commentator Eric Matheny brought up an excellent point, highlighting the contrast between how corporate media uses every opportunity to destroy the careers of Republicans while protecting Democrats.

“Remember when Dan Quayle misspelled potato and it ruined his life for the rest of time?” Matheny asked.

“This is infinitely worse,” he declared.
