(LifeSiteNews) — Discerning readers might well ask what purpose there is in reviewing the ugly, sordid details of each new episode of transgender insanity. Why do we cover these stories? What can possibly be learned from them? These are questions worth answering. First, these stories highlight the practical consequences of reshaping our institutions according to the premises of gender ideology. And second, they deny transgender activists the ability to pretend that the changes they are demanding are about tolerance, compassion, “human rights,” or common sense.

The LGBT movement has done an incredibly effective job at “normalizing” their agenda. These stories showcase the fact that their agenda is anything but normal. Many people have been propagandized into believing that the transgender movement is a civil rights movement. These stories debunk that notion—such as a recent story covered by the Daily Mail titled “Deep-red state will have to pay for transgender baby-murderer’s male-to-female surgery.” This story is disturbing because the transgender agenda is disturbing, and it is representative of stories unfolding in every country that accepts and implements that agenda.

According to the Mail, the state of Indiana has been ordered by a federal judge to cover sex change surgeries and other “transition” treatments for one Jonathan C. Richardson, who is currently serving a 55-year prison sentence after strangling his 11-month-old stepdaughter to death in 2002. Richardson, in fact, admitted to killing “the little f***** b**ch.” Throughout their report, the Mail wrongly identifies Richardson as a female, thus implicitly affirming the premises of Richardson’s demand that the state fund his “transition.” Whenever the mainstream press uses the “preferred pronouns” of trans-identified men, they cede the argument. They should realize this and reintroduce accuracy into their coverage.

According to the Mail, a federal judge ruled that Autumn Cordellioné, who was born Jonathan C. Richardson, had been subjected to ‘cruel and unusual punishment’ after being denied gender-affirming surgery according to the ACLU, which filed the suit. United States District Court Judge Richard Young ordered that the Department of Corrections must provide Cordellioné the surgery at the earliest opportunity. ‘Today marks a significant victory for transgender individuals in Indiana’s prisons,’ ACLU of Indiana’s Legal Director, Ken Falk, said in a statement. ‘Denying evidence-based medical care to incarcerated people simply because they are transgender is unconstitutional. We are pleased that the Court agreed.’”

According to the judge, the surgery demanded by Richardson is “medically necessary” and thus denying—that is, declining to facilitate and fund transition—is a violation of his rights under the Eighth and Fourteenth Amendments to the U.S. Constitution. The Eighth Amendment “protects citizens from cruel punishments”; the Fourteenth “provides equal protection to all citizens under the law.” According to Judge Young: “Ms. Cordellioné [sic] has shown that injunctive relief is necessary. There is no dispute that gender dysphoria is a serious medical condition under the objective prong.” Young also stated that Richardson is at “substantial risk of irreparable injury absent of injunctive relief,” and that without it, he may attempt “another attempt to castrate herself or die by suicide.”

In conclusion, the judge wrote: “The evidence shows that she faces serious risks of severe bodily and psychological harm absent injunctive relief…It is appropriate for the court to order at this point that this surgery be provided to her at the earliest opportunity.”

According to the Mail

While incarcerated at the Correctional Industrial Facility in Madison, Cordellioné began identifying as transgender and started taking synthetic estrogen and an anti-androgen spironolactone, which stops male hormones from working, according to Reduxx. Cordellioné has requested surgery that would build her [sic] a vagina, as well as providing breast implants, a brow lift and reduction, a tummy tuck, gluteal implants, a uterus transplant, hair removal, and wigs, according to Reduxx. Despite the requests, Young is only demanding an orchiectomy, which removes the testicles, and a vaginoplasty, which constructs a vagina.

Richardson is also currently identifies as Muslim, and is suing for $150,000 due to being denied a hijab by the prison chaplain. According to the suit, Richardson stated: “I informed him that I wear the hajib [sic] in order to cover my head and ears for modesty purposes, as I am an Islamic practicing transwoman.” The chaplain stated that Richardson actually identified as a Wiccan rather than a Muslim. Good luck to the judge attempting to figure all of that out.

For now, Richardson is being held in a male prison—New Castle Correctional Annex. It seems likely that his new transgender identity is, in part, due to his desire to be transferred to a female prison. Now that the state has affirmed him as a woman—referring to him in court documents as female—they have already granted him the premises necessary to make the case for such an exchange. In any case, according to the Mail Richardson is “projected to be released from prison as early as August 27, 2026.”

Another win for the transgender movement. Another loss for everyone else.
