(LifeSiteNews) — The following little reflection on Our Lady’s birthday has been written by a lay Catholic woman living in the Diocese of Arlington, Virginia. She approached LifeSite because she was worried that the recent decision of Bishop Michael Burbidge to close down several sites for the Traditional Mass in the Diocese of Arlington on the very date of Our Lady’s birthday, September 8, would overshadow that important feast in the Church. At the end of July, Burbidge decided to eliminate 13 of 21 TLM sites in his diocese, thus obeying Pope Francis’ attempt at stamping out the traditional Roman rite altogether.

As a result of this grave injustice toward Catholics who adhere to the rite of all times that has been canonized by Pope Pius V, Catholic lay people are planning to gather on September 8 in front of the chancery of the Arlington Diocese in order to pray the Holy Rosary. Please read here LifeSite’s Claire Chretien and her indignant thoughts about the unjust and cruel decision of the Arlington bishop that seems to show very little heart for his sheep who cling to that ancient rite and wish to see their loved ones baptized in the fuller baptismal rite that contains an exorcism or who wish to see their loved ones receive the Last Rites that pay more attention to the salvation of the soul, rather than mostly concentrating on the healing of the body. But most of all who wish to see the Sacrifice of the Holy Mass celebrated in the most sublime way and with the prayers of the ages.

Liberal bishops around the world continue promoting heterodox views on homosexuality, female priests, divorce, contraception, and more — advancing anti-Catholic positions that jeopardize the salvation of souls.

Such bishops often sideline, ignore and even persecute traditional Catholics who simply ask that the Faith be preserved and passed on to their children.

But traditional Catholics cannot be silenced any longer, which is why we are uniting in this international boycott of modernist bishops and dioceses until the deposit of Faith is upheld by the hierarchy again.

SIGN: We will not fund modernist bishops or priests who undermine the Catholic Faith, but rather direct our contributions towards faithful clergy and orders that work for the salvation of souls.

There are countless examples of bishops working against Christ's Church in calling for divine law to be ignored in favor of sexual, doctrinal and liturgical deviancy, even trying to clamp down on Catholics who practise the Faith.

Just last year, Cardinal Cupich banned traditional prayers after Mass, and more recently has curtailed the Traditional Latin Mass in his diocese.

The attack on the Faith is out in the open, with modernist bishops causing scandal in countless ways:

We have seen enough. Now is the time to show true Catholic unity against those who undermine the Faith - do not be bullied into submission by these men who would disfigure Christ's Church.

JOIN THE BOYCOTT & SHARE! Tell everyone you know to STOP giving money to bishops who attack the Catholic Faith.

"We therefore commit to a financial boycott of modernist bishops until the hierarchy resolves to uphold the entire deposit of Faith."

If the bishops refuse to uphold and protect the teaching of Christ's Bride, the Catholic Church, then we must refuse to support them until they repent.

Thank you

P.S. — Demanding that liberal bishops be held to account through financial boycott will help save the Church from doctrinal and pastoral ruin. This is the first step in restoring the Faith for future generations. Our time is now, so please join us by signing today!

The author of this reflection (see text below) has made the Total Consecration to Jesus through Mary according to St. Louis-Marie de Monfort and thus has a special attention to the Mother of God. She thinks that our best way of pleading with God for help is not to forget that September 8 is the birthday of Our Lady and nothing could please God more than giving her an appropriate celebration, attention, and honoring.

And indeed, according to St. Louis-Marie de Monfort, all petition goes to Jesus through Mary. The more we honor His Mother, the more He will be pleased to hear our pleas.

LifeSite thanks this Catholic lady for pouring out her heart in her attempt of not letting Bishop Burbidge take away from us the joy about the birth of the most wonderful woman who ever walked the earth, the Co-redemptrix and Mother of God, our Mother.

Please see below the full text written by the Catholic laywoman:

A Living Tradition

Let Us Not Allow Bishop Burbidge to Distract Us from Our Lady’s Birthday!

In many places of central and eastern Europe, the Feast of Mary’s Nativity is traditionally connected with ancient thanksgiving customs and celebrations. A blessing of the harvest and the seed of grains for the winter crops is performed in many churches. The formula of this blessing may be found in the Roman Ritual.

Will this Special Day be a day of great joy and celebration, and thanksgiving to God for the gift of His Mother or, will it be just another day? I say, put on your armor and lift up your voices, sing songs of devotion, love and honor!!!!!!

Make signs of your love, and carry images of our Queen. Show her off to the world and let Her be seen! But wait—I see images of Her crying ? Of course, it’s September !! We cannot forget the Feast of 7 Sorrows on the 15th and on the 19th Our Lady of LaSalette. Let’s not forget Her title of Mary, Mother of Priest. She is crying for the souls of Her wayward bishops and priest sons. Take out your Rosaries for the flowers to lay at Her feet and the salutations to help soothe Her aching Heart. Let us offer our prayer to make Reparation to Her Immaculate Heart for the conversion of infidel priests and bishops and for the fidelity of Pope Francis. Our birthday gift to You Mary, our beautiful, loving Mother and Queen, with love.

To You, Eternal Father, be pleased with this offering of the prayer of St. Thomas Aquinas:

“I give you thanks, O holy Lord, Father Almighty, eternal God, Who hast vouchsafed, not for any merits of mine, but solely out of the condescension of Thy Mercy, to satisfy me a sinner, Thine unworthy servant, with the precious Body and Blood of Thy Son our Lord Jesus Christ.”

O Lord Jesus Christ our Mediator with the Father, Who hast been pleased to appoint the Most Blessed Virgin, Thy Mother, to be our Mother also, and our Mediatrix with Thee mercifully grant that whosoever comes to Thee seeking Thy favors may rejoice to receive all of them through Her. AMEN.
