(LifeSiteNews) — On yesterday’s episode of The John-Henry Westen Show, I sat down with our very own Christina Rossini, LifeSite’s social media coordinator and a rising Gen Z star in the fight for life, faith, family, and freedom.

Some of you who follow LifeSite on Instagram or TikTok might already be familiar with Christina, but on this episode, she introduced herself to the broader LifeSite audience, shared how her upbringing was crucial to the formation of her pro-life and pro-family convictions, and explained how she’s using social media to help build a culture of life among young people.

“LifeSite found a need to showcase more of a personal … storytelling … of these articles. And I decided, ‘Hey, it’d be fun if we did some sort of short video platform like TikTok or something, just to make it easier for these articles to digest with some people,'” she said. “So that’s kind of where I came into the whole mix, and they were like, ‘Yeah, Christina, you seem good for this. Let’s try you out.’ I’m like, ‘Okay, cool! Sounds good.’ And so that’s what I’ve been doing.”

Raised with five siblings by devout Catholic parents, Christina has long been immersed in a home life defined by a spirit of prayer and close family ties. She related that her mother’s involvement in the political arena and habit of keeping up with current events helped shape her conservative outlook on the world — something that makes her stand out among her stridently secular, leftist generation.

To close out the episode I asked Christina to share her advice for young people on navigating the potential spiritual and moral hazards of social media consumption. (But let’s be honest, it can apply to a lot of us adults, too.)

I would say that it would be healthy if people had a screen time limit put on for TikTok or Instagram just so you can kind of stop yourself, be like, ‘Okay, no more, time to do something else. Time to do something constructive and productive with my brain,'” she said. “Also, just be prudent with … who you’re following.”
