(LifeSiteNews) — In today’s day and age, it is very difficult to find films you can show your kids. Everybody still watches movies, and to try and restrict your teens from movies just doesn’t work. So you have to find good ones, and that’s a chore-and-a-half!

But what about finding a good film that’s entertaining but also promotes the faith, promotes praying? A movie where you can actually see in the actions of the characters a real-life portrayal of faith? Down on their knees, when they’re actually praying, they’re actually doing it amidst horrific struggles?

There is such a film. It’s called Paul’s Promise, and it’s coming out real soon.

Ryan O’Quinn, one of the producers and stars, tells me it’s based on an unbelievable but true story in the American South during the civil rights movement. He also explains the film’s inspiring portrayal of faith, and from there we discuss the importance of prayer, especially as parents raising children.

Mark your calendars: Paul’s Promise will be released in theaters on October 21. You’re going to want to get the entire family together for this one.

The John-Henry Westen Show is available by video on the show’s YouTube channel and right here on my LifeSite blog.
